I just scored tickets to SIX, which is touring here in March. I'm thrilled and super excited to tell DD on Christmas morning.
We do three gifts for the kids, this year the theme seems to be one very expensive gift and one homemade gift instead of three.
DS is getting a very pricy lego set and a quilt - handmade with lots of love and cussing- by me. it went off to the longarmer yesterday.
what are your teenagers getting?

My niece is getting an ipad and apple watch from her parents. I am getting her a GC to Lululemon. My nephew got an Alaska cruise from me earlier this year. That is his grade 5 grad, birthday and Christmas present this year.

Mine didn’t ask for anything, but we got her an Apple Watch as an early gift. She thinks! The reason she got it, was that we need to monitor her seizures and that it will alert us if she falls off her horse.

The oldest (almost 18) is probably getting a laptop, because she won't have access to the one from high school when she graduates... she asked for a specific type of gloves and sci-fi books. The 15 (almost 16) year old asked for clothes especially fuzzy sweaters. The older two are both going to Disneyland with a class at school next Spring, so that's counting as part of their Christmas/birthday gifts this year... The 13-year-old (boy) I have no idea. He's that awkward fun age where he still wants toys but doesn't play with them, and already has access to enough video games to last the rest of his life. I wish good attitudes were giftable because he needs one

I am crossing my fingers and toes that we are able to get Taylor Swift tickets for DD (13) who has been a Swiftie as long as I can remember. We were put on the waitlist for yesterday's fiasco (which I think was for the best because I didn't have the time yesterday to do what people did). Today, a friend of mine is hoping to get tickets for her and her DD and us with the Capital One pre-sale. If that doesn't work, I will be trying tomorrow morning to get them. That will be the big family gift if we can pull it off. She hasn't asked for them because she knows we are buckling down with spending and she is far more sensitive to those kinds of things than she probably should be so she will be FLOORED if she opens those up on Christmas morning.
She asked for ankle weights (they use them at the dance studio to help strengthen for turns and leaps) and she asked for gift cards. The last couple of years we did a "Day of Gift Card" shopping spree one of the days between Christmas and New Years to use the cards we had gotten and it turned out to be a really fun day. She did part of the day with me, met my DH for lunch, and then the two of them went out for the afternoon. Then we all went to a movie. Last year we kept track of what we spent over the gift cards and it was $13.72.

My DD and I went to SIX this past August! LOVED it. Have you listened to the soundtrack yet? I ordered the CD - if you want to give her an actual gift, you could purchase the CD so she could listen to the music beforehand. I was actually surprised at how short it is (I think it was 1hr 15 min show?) but I am obsessed with the Tudor story, so this was right up my alley! Enjoy!

My DD is getting a robot vacuum that empties itself; she has a golden retriever pup so she really wants/needs it. Funny how things that you would never think of as "gifts" are the ones people want. I'll also get some gift cards, etc. My DS, I have no idea as usual.

DD16 has no idea what she wants for Christmas...and thus I have no idea what to get her. She got an art tablet and a big Lego set for her birthday last month
Maybe a punching bag and gloves...I do remember her mentioning that. I think she might like a suit also but that might be trickier to buy as a surprise

one niece asked for a sweatshirt from some company I've never heard of, another wanted a crocheted steering wheel cover from etsy, and the other wants squishmallows.

i am waiting for items from all 3 to tell my mom. we go thru this every year. she doesn't want to give money or gift card, they hedge "Umm, i am not sure", she follows up and gets frustrated and says "well i guess they won't get anything". i agree, why not? they were asked, too bad for them... lol! so this year i was super-blunt, "pick something to ask for from your grandmother, go online pick a sweater, i don't care. you have until nov 30 or you are out of luck".
my gf made quilts for my two boys with all their childhood superhero/lego/star wars tshirts! i made an 80 page photo book for each of them of our trip to spain. and i get each kid their own ornament related to their interests every year - i have already got those. a couple of small things above that but - we did go to spain for 2 wks in march so.... leaner christmas this year.

I think mine will be thrilled if the remaining amount of her iPad loan is paid off. She never really asks for much anyway. She borrowed about $600 earlier this year to buy a new iPad and Apple Pencil and she has worked hard all spring and summer paying it down. She still owes a couple hundred dollars on it. DH and I have been talking about that being her big gift which gets us mostly off the hook. I usually find some clothes she needs and some books she wants. I also picked up a Google Home Mini at Target for $20 for her bedroom at the lake cabin. She has one at home that she uses as an alarm clock, a music player and to remotely turn her lamp and fan on and off. I still need to figure out something for a Santa gift.

DS is struggling with ideas, he came up with: Apple CarPlay radio for his car, GNC gift card (for buying his workout supplements), sweatpants and gym shark shorts. He is going to get a fireproof digital safe from us, he works at a bank and likes to collect the old bills as he comes across them and he needs somewhere safer than his sock drawer to keep them.
DD is 19 and on her own, but she had some good ideas on her list: Brixley cross body bag, KillCrew sweatshirt or hoodie, Gucci heart ring, indoor potting mat and plant light, fuzzy slippers (preferably cute animal ones), face masks and seamless gym shorts.

I need ideas. I have a 14 year old nephew who is autistic and he loves video games but he has everything. He also lives pretty far from me but I am seeing him on Thanksgiving and I wish I could get his gift now and give it then so I don't have to pay to ship it. I sent my sister a message to ask what he likes and what size he is. They also live in a very small town so I don't even know what kind of gift cards would work! ahhh!

My daughter wants a $1600 guitar I have tried seeing how we could swing it if we combine all the presents she gets from everyone, but I think she is just going to have to ask for money and save it until her birthday in October. Which makes for a boring Christmas. (I'm feeling bad, as she is an avid player, and still using the starter guitar she had when she was 6 and has been doing exceptionally well in school, but I think it's just a bit more than we can manage. Guitars here seem to be in the cheap category, and then in the $1600+ category, very few in between!)

I got that Lego McLaren F1 for my husband. We are F1 fans, and he's been a McLaren fan forever, he's going to be happy with that. I hope your boys have fun putting it together. I bet it's going to take a while!

Dd is asking for a gaming chair, necklace, fish tube (fake fish that float around in color changing tube), Jurassic World T-rex toy, alcohol markers, new art paper, fuzzy socks, eye mask, nail polish, WWF animal calendar.
Ds (16 but aged younger due to disabilities) is asking for Lego Princess Peach, kinetic sand kit, Jurassic World dinosaurs, Thomas the Train track set, Cars track set, tow truck, fire truck.

Ds will turn 22 10 days after Christmas. He has asked for the same thing he asked for since he was 9 and gave up Thomas the Tank Engine.
Did you guess Lego! 😆 He's such a funny awesome kid. He will ask for a set under $100, because he doesn't want to be offensive by asking for more than that. We never put any limit on it, he did that. We will also get him a book, he likes big old coffee table books about all manner of things. I might try to get him a new hoodie because I'm tired of seeing the one he wears non-stop for the past 3 years, but he will likely push back because the one he has is "in good shape".
The child is crazy frugal and always has been. He will ask for a six pack of different bottles of root beer for his birthday, like he does every year, and nothing else. If we try to do more, he gets uncomfortable.
He has always purchased his own phones, because he "doesn't think that should be our responsibility".
I do love my oddball boy, but he does kind of suck the fun out of gift giving. 😈

On a side note, how do you find a longarmer? I would get back into quilting if I could find one! I've got 2 options for you - Quilting By DavidMissouri StarYou can ship to either one, and they'll ship back to you. I found David, who is my go to, through another quilter. Missouri Star is more expensive and takes twice as long, but if you can find a coupon and have the time to wait (last one I sent them took 4 months to return) they do beautiful work. Another option is to ask at a local quilt shop. I got the name of a lady who did some custom work for me that way. Not something I use regularly, but this top was a huge undertaking for me and I wanted custom work on it.

I just got sent a tiktok video entitled “what to buy your pink Pilates princess.” It had about a dozen ideas including a pink lululemon jacket, pink socks, a pink jacket that looks cute but not warm, work out gear, hair perfume (never heard of that before), make up….I asked my daughter to narrow it down a little and she was like “I want it all.” Thanks, random tiktok girl, for adding more expensive crap to the list

my 17 year old asked for a welding helmet for school. i also chose the vans that are fuzzy inside - bought him a pair last year and he really liked them. beats on sale, because he breaks or loses everything. i'll add a package of candy, a book or two and a few lottery scratch offs like we usually do.
my 18 year old got a car recently, so i'll probably get him a sheetz gift card. i also got him a tshirt from his old elementary school. maybe i'll get him some diamond studs and a steering wheel cover, a book or two. oh, and i found a window cling of a dog sticking his head out the window that i thought would be fun to prank him with. oh, and some uggs. he wants uggs. he's starting college in january as a commuter so maybe his parking pass too. and the scratch offs.
still thinking of a few good things for stockings...

We had been stalking their website for shows to go live. It was the best DD flipped when she saw that it was coming to town. I've been stalking the website to make sure I could get single tickets. She has no clue and has been merrily sending me links for "gift options". Her 17th birthday will be in April, so she's going to have to wait for other stuff until then

DD just turned 20 a couple of weeks ago, so I can relate. In her case, she is moving into a campus apartment next fall and everything is furnished except for the kitchen. So, she's getting clothes, cookware, a stick blender, and her BIG gift, a Kitchenaid mixer ($200 off at Target for pre-Black Friday -- woo hoo!). Cooking is a ministry for her, so I'm incredibly excited to give her the mixer. She cooks for the girls in her dorm once a month, and they absolutely love it. I'm also happy because it will give me lots of ideas for future gifts, ie, attachments, etc. Good luck to everyone buying for teens. Sometimes it can be a real challenge!

I haven't got their list yet but I'll guess: 20 year old: vinyl records, usually something not mainstream that I have to ship from Australia or something. His music taste is female singers like Lorde, Taylor Swift, Phoebe Bridgers, Mitski, etc. But he always asks for more obscure artists. Maybe clothes. 18 year old: Also vinyl records. He'll also want some kind of new pedal for his guitar, or other guitar related items. He likes alternative/punk/guitar rock. 13 year old: Browns, Cavaliers, or Guardians clothing. Some kind of accessory for his X Box. Probably a video game, more than likely sports related. He'll probably want a record, too- probably rap music. The 13 year old always has a long list, the other two, not so much. The 13 year old said that since he is the only kid this year, he should get more gifts.
