I almost always used textured cardstock on my layouts. I did go on a kraft paper streak when that was the rage, but since then my go-to is always textured.
I also love, love, love using Carte Bella paper because of that texture. I miss Authentique, too, because of the texture.
When you scrap do you use textured or smooth?
Where do you get your cardstock? Scrapbook.com always seems to be out of the big packs and I need a huge pack of white and also black.

Always smooth. I don’t care for textured cardstock.
I use white 100lb. My Colors Cardstock. It used to be made by MME, but as of a few months ago it’s now made by PhotoPlay. When MME announced it was discontinuing making scrapbooking supplies, I stocked up on it. I haven’t tried the Photoplay version, but assume (hope!) it’s the exact same.
If I want a colored mat, I use patterned paper. It is rare for me to use colored cardstock.
ETA: I buy it from SB.com. They restock it pretty quickly when it sells out.

I use a lot of textured cardstock but smooth is fine, too. I prefer smooth when using my Silhouette Cameo. I bought packs of AC textured cardstock a couple of times when it was on sale on Amazon. It went as low as $12-13. I have a good stockpile.

I am happy with either, but for some reason, I have a block when it comes to using both textured and smooth on the same layout. That means that Carta Bella and Authentique papers rarely got used with anything outside of their collections. I made an exception for textured Bazzil, but I am much more of a patterned paper gal than cardstock.

I like both. My preference priority is color. As long I love the color of the cardstock, doesn't matter to me if it's smooth or textured.

I use both as well.
I typically grab textured cardstock when I am matting photos or as a background that will have minimal ink or paint on it.
I use smooth cardstock for mixed media backgrounds, printing, stamping and matting photos.
My favorite textured cardstock is Coredinations, but that brand is disappearing it seems. But I love the shimmery, distressed and whitewashed finishes they used to have.

I love texture! Often I use textured cs as a background. And if the pp is textured, I like that, too, especially if it tears in an interesting manner.
I do use alot of smooth cs, though. Kraft doesn't look right to me unless it is smooth. The smooth cs cuts more cleanly with a die or electronic cutter, and of course if I am going to stamp or foil, even stencil, the smooth is best there, too.

I love the look of textured though I have a limited supply in my stash, so I usually use smooth - especially for stamping and die cutting, or layering a tiny white border around my photos.

I have been leaning toward smooth when I buy new CS. I love Coconut Swirl from J's.
I also prefer not to combine smooth and textured - but in the end, COLOR rules.

I don't have a preference. Smooth for stamping though.

I'd prefer the textured but will use smooth in a pinch. I'm still working from my stash so haven't had to make a purchase in a while.

I love textured! When I used to paper scrap, I would pretty much only use textured Bazzill.
I recently purchased a set of Photoshop canvas styles, and have been using them as an overlay on the background paper on most of my LOs.

I like textured and I get a few pieces in my Scrap Room kit every month. That keeps my stash alive and well. Most of it is Bazzil. I have purchased packs of smooth white and black from Michael’s, but it’s been a while since I’ve had to buy any.

I prefer smooth, I like it better for diecutting. But if I really like a color I will buy it in textured. I have found that I often use a subtle B side tone on tone pattern more than plain cardstock.
My pet peeve is when you order single sheets of cardstock and there are label stickers on them (had that happen with scrapbook dot com a few times).

I use textured cardstock for my backgrounds but use smooth in my cameo. If I'm using a white background I just like the subtle detail the textured cardstock brings.

Both, but I tend to lean smooth. Linen texture works on some things but not everything, where smooth always looks good.

I use both but lately have been using more smooth. We don't have a lss so I usually order c/s from Scrapbook.com or ACOT. And will occasionally buy a few sheets from HL or Michaels.

I use both. Sometimes I want a smooth surface and other times I want texture.
I love to do texture cardstock with mist sprays. I feel it adds to the grungy look.

I love textured cardstock and tend to grab it over smooth unless there's some journaling and then all runs smooth cardstock through the printer.

i love the look of textured; but prefer smooth for stamping, using my Silhouette, and journaling by hand.
i have more textured in my stash (mostly Bazzill) and haven’t needed to purchase cardstock in years and years. I worked at a LSS years ago and bought huge amounts.
i plan to return to 12x12 layouts in 2023. i love cardstock backgrounds so i hope it will deplete some of my stash.

i love textured cardstock. i especially enjoyed them when My Mind's Eye and Authentique did lots of their collections on textured cardstock. for solid cardstock i still prefer textured Bazzill.

Cardstock is my most frequently-used (& favorite) supply, since it's the base of every layout. I prefer textured cardstock, but also use smooth (e.g. Bazzill Marshmallow for mixed media applications). Although I still have an inventory of pre-American Crafts-acquired textured Bazzill, I also purchase Bazzill by the sheet at JoAnn during $2/10 sheet weekly sales (& previously in packs at Tuesday Morning).

I only care about the color. The texture or not gets pretty much covered up. I do prefer textured just because it is like a pattern and I always prefer a pattern over plain when it comes to scrapbook paper.

When you scrap do you use textured or smooth? Where do you get your cardstock? I prefer textured cardstock. I tend to buy my textured cardstock at Hobby Lobby (Paper Studios), when the paper packs are on sale.

Both! I do a lot of stamping and mixed media, so I go through truckloads of plain, smooth white cardstock. I tend to buy that at OfficeSupply.com and piggyback my orders along with my husband's actual office supply orders for his business. I also adore smooth kraft cardstock.
If I'm not stamping, stenciling, painting or journaling on it, I prefer textured cardstock. I pick that up as needed wherever I happen to be placing an order for other stuff -- Scrapbook.com or ACherryonTop.com, usually. I find it helpful that A Cherry on Top recommends Bazzill colors that coordinate with the other paper lines they sell.
