AKA: TG thanksgiving only happens once a year <arteries clogging>.
Most of the time it takes me a month or more to go through a stick (1/4lb) of butter. I just don’t use it. In the past couple of days we’ve used it to dry brine the bird, to make stuffing, and for 2 pies and crusts. So far we’ve gone through 7 1/2, and I just opened an 8th (and may dip into a 9th) for the overnight mashed potatoes. Holy moly!
How about you?

Only one stick for magic bars but tomorrow we will be going through a lot. I need to go pull a box out of the freezer.

I’ve used 2T butter total for two pies. I used frozen pie crusts, so guess I cheated a bit. I’ll use a bit more tomorrow for the risotto and creamed corn. We’re not doing a traditional turkey meal this year. We were supposed to be out of town (and not cooking at all!) but had to cancel last minute.

Yes! Thank God that I bought extra for baking next week. I think I’m on 9 now and I still need to cook the turkey tonight. My kitchen sink backed up and DH has been working on it all afternoon. It was a known issue before we moved in (on November 1st!) and they’ve just babied it along. And here we are—7pm the night before thanksgiving. This could end up costing them $$$$. I’m so irritated!

Just 4. I made my pumpkin pie and a slab apple pie that took 3 sticks.

Zero. My family does a sign up sheet and we are bringing one of the turkeys. Actually, some butter will be used but that's my husband's job.

none today but we've used a lb (4 sticks) in the past week. I generally keep at least 4-6 lbs in the freezer - stocking up on sales.
I bought pie crust (although my homemade recipe doesn't use butter) and the only other thing I've made today is cranberry relish (jello). I'm not actually sure if anything I'm making uses butter actually...

Technically none because I made my pie crusts a couple weeks ago and froze them. I made a pumpkin pie and four loaves of bread today and will make a pan of lemon bars tomorrow which only takes about two Tbsp. We’ll probably go through at least a pound tomorrow though.

None today - I just didn’t feel like making pie crusts so I bought frozen. I’ll use a stick tomorrow for the dressing, though, and I think 6 tablespoons for the pecan praline topping for the pumpkin pie.

Zero. We are not having turkey. And the pie crust is pre-made.
Overall, we don't use much butter. Probably takes over 6 months to use up just one stick.

If you aren’t using at least two sticks of butter in your potatoes, you’re doing it wrong!

Well gosh I guess we love our butter around here. We go through a stick of butter every 10 days or so, quicker if I am on a scrambled egg kick.
We used at least a pound of butter today and I have a stick set aside for the turkey tomorrow.

Only 3 so far today, but at least that many tomorrow as well. I bought 6 pounds a couple of weeks ago in anticipation of the upcoming holidays and because it was the cheapest I'd seen it in months. We've already gone through a couple of pounds, so hoping I find another sale soon to restock the freezer.
How about cream cheese? Anyone going through a lot of that this week? I'm making buffalo chicken dip and cream cheese crab wonton cups for snacky stuff tomorrow/over the weekend. I had thought about making pumpkin bars with the maple cream cheese frosting but I figured the 2 sweet potato pies was enough dessert for us. Monday morning I need to plan on salads for a week and detoxing from the gluttonous weekend we're about to have. lol

Here’s the recipe, I’ve had it for probably 40 years. Another artery clogger.
Overnight Mashed Potato Casserole
3 lbs russet potatoes, peeled (I don’t peel them and no one minds) 1 ½ cups sour cream (or use plain Greek yogurt) 5 tbsp softened butter, divided (I made brown butter for it this year and OMG you guys, totally worth it) 1 ½ tsp salt ¼ tsp black pepper (I also add about 5 -6 cloves of garlic) ¼ cup dry bread crumbs
1. Cut potatoes into quarters. Cook until tender in boiling salted water. Drain and place the cooked potatoes in the large bowl of an electric mixer. Add the sour cream, 4 tbsp butter, the salt and pepper.
2. Beat the potato mixture until light and fluffy (key is that they’re light and fluffy!) on low-medium speed of an electric mixer. Pile lightly into a buttered 2 quart casserole. Cover and refrigerate overnight.
3. Bake, covered, in a preheated 325° oven about 1 hour or until heated through.
4. Toss the bread crumbs with the remaining 1 tbsp butter, which has been melted; sprinkle over the potatoes. Continue baking, uncovered, about 30 minutes longer.

None today, but I have plans for using at least 4 sticks tomorrow in the stuffing, mashed potatoes and sweet potatoes. The other vegetables will be roasted with oil. The turkey is DH's responsibility and no butter will be involved.

I am going out for dinner today so except for my English muffin, none. However, I make a lot of fudge at this time of year so whenever I see Land o' Lakes unsalted butter on sale, I grab 3-4 pounds and then food saver it. lksdjfsiueuybamn,n. <------- me having a stroke from all the unhealthy stuff I eat at this time of year.

It's just the three of us this year so I am doing less cooking than normal. Yesterday I used 2 sticks and today will use 1 more. I think today, I only used 2T for pecan pie. You (and/or your recipe) must not be from the South! My recipe uses 1 stick (1/2 cup) of butter.

None. But that's because we did our big dinner on Sunday. I didn't use as much as normal. And my mom and sister brought some of the food, including the pies.
I want to say 3-4.
ETA I will still be making a nice non turkey dinner that will involve butter and other fattening things. PW's steak bites, mushrooms, creamed spinach and apple crisp.
