Just what is needed for the garlic bread. We have lasagna for Thanksgiving. And 4 tbs for the gingersnap pie crust for pumpkin pie.
I know that lasagna & pumpkin pie don't go together but we eat our main meal and have dessert much later.

It's just the three of us this year so I am doing less cooking than normal. Yesterday I used 2 sticks and today will use 1 more. I think today, I only used 2T for pecan pie. You (and/or your recipe) must not be from the South! My recipe uses 1 stick (1/2 cup) of butter. I use the recipe on the corn syrup bottle, but I add way more pecans. I felt like it was a bit light on the butter, too!

I use the recipe on the corn syrup bottle, but I add way more pecans. I felt like it was a bit light on the butter, too! I just went and pulled out my bottle of corn syrup to see the recipe. They went heavier on the sugars (corn syrup and sugar) while mine ups the butter and has half the corn syrup. I think the increased butter helps to cut that overly sweet taste. Oh, and I always add way more pecans as well. Hope that your pie turns out well. The family requested Key Lime Pie this year so no pecan pie until Christmas for us. All this talk of pecan pie makes me miss my late MIL's pie. Instead of one large pie she would use the individual pie shells. Then she would wrap and freeze them individually. There was always a stash in the freezer, which was very handy for late night snacks but dangerous for my weight!

Nary a one. I'm only responsible for the coleslaw today.

I know that lasagna & pumpkin pie don't go together but we eat our main meal and have dessert much later. A really good lasagna is something to be thankful for. Sounds like a nice meal to me. 100% agree!

My pecan pie baker grew up in Arkansas, so the more butter, the better Also, no lard in the pie crusts, just butter. My son’s recipe (I don’t do pie crust).

My husband gets on my case because I always buy butter if I hit the grocery and we end up with pounds of it in the refrigerator, but guess what, it's all going into something today!
