I took a chance and ordered the scrapbook.com Magic Mat plates because they said they were designed to work with the Cuttlebug (and anyone who knows Cuttlebug knows that getting more plates is almost unheard of, except on Ebay for insane prices) The Magic Mat plates are designed to replace the B plate, the thinnest one. Got them yesterday and WOW! So pleased, they work great, I still have a couple of dies that need a paper shim but they were ones that always did, so no change. Some people were upset because they said they were warping or just a 1/4 too big for the Cuttlebug, but in that case I think they ordered the wrong size, and did not order the ones that specifically call out the Cuttlebug. I did not have any warping and I used them a ton yesterday for Christmas cards. They rocked. www.scrapbook.com/store/sbc-mmat-b2.html

I have been looking at these for my Big Shot. Do you replace both acrylic plates? Mine are starting warp.

I love using the Magic Mat for my Big Shot! pantsonfire I use the MM on the bottom and the acrylic plate on top (with the cutting edge of the die facing down). An added bonus is that my acrylic plate has never warped with use of the MM.

Yup, "Magic Mats" are just a sized-to-machine self-healing cutting mat. You can cut down any old mat or even buy a small one at the dollar store that'll do the same job a real treat. Only difference is it might take some playing with the sandwich since mats vary in thickness with different brands. They're so much better than rigid plates alone though.
The cutting mat only replaces one, the side you cut into. The other should be a standard plate.
