If you want to get a good deal on cutting files, this is the time to get a subscription. Silhouette also offers SVG versions for those who use a Cricut or other electronic cutter that can use SVG files. I think the SVG versions are an added cost, but that’s all the more reason to get a subscription.
I’ve mentioned in the past that I have a Silhouette subscription that lets me get $150 of designs of my choice for about 8 cents per design instead of 99 cents. I get a slightly better price because I am set to auto renew.
It costs me a little less than $12/month. As long as I keep auto renewing, the price is locked in.
For comparison, I can buy maybe a couple of die sets from Tuesday Morning for that price, or I can get up to 150 cutting files.
If credit boost are more to your liking, they are on sale, too.
I love dies, but I also love the variety I get with cutting files, and they cost far less than dies.

Thanks, scrapnnana ! I didn't think to check here for Black Friday sales. I bought some credit boosts. I don't use enough to justify a subscription right now but the credit boosts are a happy medium. Now I'm going to have some fun filling my cart with some files that have been on my wish list!

I don't use enough to justify a subscription right now but the credit boosts are a happy medium. Me too infochick. I find that buying a credit boost once a year gives me enough to be going on with. Mind you, I get irritated every time I add something to my basket and it informs me that it's FREE - not "pre-paid"!! @scrapnanna I agree with you about the versatility of cutting files. I bought some folded star dies and made a cutting file almost right away when I realised that they'd look quite good in a variety of slightly different sizes. But if I want many of exactly the same thing (like making my Christmas cards yesterday) a die cutter is quicker and less stressful, I find.

I’m not sure, though, that manual die cutting is always quicker, especially if I am manually cutting lots of pieces. I set up my cutter to cut multiple colors at a time and/or several items. I start it cutting, and then I can be working on something else while it cuts. It takes less energy for me than manual die cutting if there are a lot of pieces and colors. If I am cutting only a few things, then manual cutting can be quicker and easier. I definitely still use my manual dies and die cutter, but if I need something that I don’t have a die for, then I know I will have something in my cutting files that will work, or can use my sub to download one or more cutting files that will work. I also like that some companies (such as Echo Park) offer cutting files, and I especially like their print and cut files. I don’t have any LSS near me, but I can print and cut Echo Park and other designs (I really like La La Shiba’s print and cut files, too). I sometimes use my sub to buy patterned paper designs, which can be used to fill in cutting shapes. No precious patterned paper waste, and since I don’t have a lot of crafty shopping options when working on a project, I can use digital paper to fill in a shape if I need. All the Silhouette designs are also on sale right now for 50% off. That means my subscription goes twice as far right now, and brings the cost for most cutting files down to about 4 cents each for me. I still buy dies, but I also love my Silhouette subscription. I have more cutting files than I need or will use, but the same is true of my scrapbook/card making stash. I’m just a gal who loves having options and possibilities. I know that credit boosts are often preferred by many, and some people are overwhelmed by too many options. That’s why I mentioned that credit boosts are also on sale. It’s a win-win, either way, for those of us with electronic cutters.

Man, I really need to learn how use more features on my Cameo, this sounds so cool.. I love scrapbooking with cut files. I bought a ton of Paige Evan's files during the last sale. Thanks for the reminding, I'll go buy a credit boost now.

I've been collecting points all year, and I cash in 500 of them for a 50% discount - I stack that with 50% off sales, so I can get designs for 25% of their original cost. LOL, my most recent purchase like that had 301 files, so I earned 301 points to use for another day.

Yeah, they started a reward points program back in January - you get points for every design you download, and extra points for visiting multiple days in a row or for downloading 25 designs in various categories. silhouetteamerica.freshdesk.com/support/solutions/articles/35000210051-silhouette-design-store-rewards-program

I used to buy directly from Lori Whitlock since I have a Cricut machine and after a little bit of thought, I decided to sub to Silhouette and get the Silhouette Designer Edition so I could convert studio files to svg. I have the same subscription as you, scrapnnana and I love it. 3D designs are what I get the most and you could say my digital library is pretty extensive after subscribing back in 2019 so I can attest to this being a great option. Sometimes I fill up my wish list and wait for a 50% off sale so I can save even more. The reward points are also a wonderful option. I also love my dies but having multiple options makes it even better.

Silhouette is also doing their free daily holiday files - along with a free set of 12 (I think?) files for a jungle themed party. Additionally, there are a number of free bundles if you look in the bundle category- it seems like they are adding a new one every few days.

Does anyone know, the credit boost that is $50 (marked down from $60)...is that the sale price? Want to find out before I purchase. I know this a stupid question. Sorry!
ETA: I think I figured it out. The promo code THANKFUL for subscriptions had me thinking I needed a promo code for the credits.
