Absolutely yes. I know my "super dodger" status is soon to expire. Any sniffles, scratchy throat or sneezes I immediately think are covid. I was becoming so smug with my apparent “immune” status, not even getting Covid when my husband became symptomatic on vacation last year and we had been confined in a car together for two days. Then I got a scratchy throat the beginning of November and two days later full Covid smacked that smugness right out of me 😬. I hope your luck holds!

No. There are other viruses out there, and I couldn’t care less which one of them it is.

Interestingly, when we were on vacation in Europe with a group of 30, the 4 of us who tested positive for Covid while on the trip, had never had it. 6 more tested positive when they returned home but I don't know if they had ever had it.

for just a sore/scratchy throat, I think it's air conditioning or the dry heat in my apartment.
I hope everyone not feeling well feels better soon.

And interestingly enough, we were the three who kissed the Blarney Stone. Not blaming it on that but we all thought that was kind of interesting.

And interestingly enough, we were the three who kissed the Blarney Stone. Not blaming it on that but we all thought that was kind of interesting. When we were in Ireland in May, one of our group tested positive in Northern Ireland and had to stay from the 19th until the 31st! She was the only one to get it but, upon returning home, 4 more tested positive. We didn't go to see the Blarney Stone!

It’s a crapshoot what you’re going to get right now in my area. Influenza, rsv, and Covid are all pretty prevalent, and most people are pretty much back to ignoring symptoms and exposing others unless they are too sick to function. It’s going to be an interesting winter

If I had a nickel for every time I was told, “oh it’s just my allergies” right before a positive covid test, I’d be posting from my yacht.
I have heard this a lot that is why I will start to wonder when I feel a bit run down or have a scratchy throat luckily mine has only been allergies so far, knock on wood.

DD came down with something about 7-8 weeks ago. Did a rapid test after about 3 days of symptoms and it was negative. Took her in to the clinic and had them do a test for strep and it wasn’t that either. She didn’t ever really have a fever or anything so I figured it was probably a sinus infection since her issues were mostly sinus and the resulting cough. All these weeks later and she still sort of has the stupid cough.
Then I came down with something similar to DD about 5-6 weeks ago. I did a rapid test and it was negative. Did an e-visit where the doctor said it was likely a sinus infection and a bronchial infection due to the copious amounts of gunk I was coughing up and my clogged head. Most of the other symptoms have abated for the most part, but I too still have an intermittent cough.
Now DH has been coughing since the first week of November. We’re all so over it. We all have allergies so it isn’t usually the first thing that I think it is especially with no fever or other common symptoms, but it definitely crosses my mind.

I always know that I'm getting sick. Before Covid even.. a scratchy throat always means a cold - or worse for me!
