My son put a giant duct tape tail on his. Made it an easier/larger item to find.

They sit on the side table next to the chair in the living room.

We only have one so it isn't really a problem. I like the idea though of putting something colorful on it. Sometimes it does seem to disappear if there isn't enough light in the room. And it looks a bit like the cordless phone.

They sit on the side table next to the chair in the living room. Mine have a spot, but still get lost. User error.

Ours are always in the same few spots, either on the coffee table or the end table or the arm of a chair or couch. Can't say we've ever lost one

I sit at the kitchen table to watch TV and the remote is on the table ... yes, I'm weird ... I have a brand new fancy sofa that I have never sat on.

I've never really had a problem. It stays next to the TV when not in use. When in use, it is on the end table near the sofa or chair (generally)

They sit on the side table next to the chair in the living room. Mine have a spot, but still get lost. User error. We had that issue too so I got a couple of these to hang off the edge of the end table, one for DH and one for me. Works great and the part of the silicone pad that lays on top of the table makes a nice coaster for my drink cup. Bonus! I bought mine on clearance for something crazy like 75% off at a craft store a few years ago so they were super cheap. holsterbrands.com/products/hobby-holster?variant=37139086980

Always right next to me on the side table. I get twitchy if they get moved!

We have 5 remotes for our tv/receiver/satellite, blah blah. I bought a small metal basket to keep them corralled on the side table.
So far, we've been good about putting them in the basket when we turn things off.

In the family room, whoever has control of the main remote has it on their end table. If you lay it on the couch in between us, we have one beagle that will lay on it every.single.time. I never use the Samsung remote or fire TV remote, so those stay over on my DHs table.
In the bedroom, I am constantly losing my remote in the blankets. I annoy myself to death. Also, the same beagle will lay on my phone and / or my remote if given a chance. I’m not sure what that’s all about, but she seems to do it every night. Ha.

I have a basket for the remotes in the living room (we just have the one TV) but apparently I'm the only person who actually returns them to the basket (which is unfortunate since I don't actually USE them, lol). Dh is forever looking for a remote....I round them up a couple of times a week and put them back in the basket.

Ours is in the drawer in the end table. If we leave it out my golden retriever will eat it. Right now we don't have one at all because the kids kept leaving it out. I am currently using the Roku remote app on my phone to control the tv.

The best solution we've found for making sure the remotes are where they should be is to have our kids move out. hahahahaha But seriously...now that it's just me and dh most of the time the remote is always either by my chair when he's not in the room, and at his chair when we're watching something together (because you know how men are, always wanting to be in control. )

I bought glow in the dark covers for our Roku tv remotes. His and hers remotes. (Yes, we each have our own tv remote)

I have a basket that sits on the table between our chairs. At the end of a TV watching session, they go in the basket.

the main tv and the surround sound remotes have velcro on them and are stuck to the back of the tv... we dont use those very often... also in the bedrooms all tv remotes are velcroed to the back of the tvs... and just the dish\firestick remotes are out...
the dish remote and fire stick remote get tossed into the cubby in the middle of our couch, most of the time... when we are using them, they are usually beside us... but whoever is the last person watching turns it all off, then throws them in the cubby.. most of the time... lol
our dish remote does have a beep button from receiver to remote... the firestick does not.. and it is a tiny little sucker!!!
in the main bedroom, we have a little plastic tote that dh uses as like a valet thing.. its where he empties his pockets each night.. the 2 remotes we use are in that...
in the guest bedroom\my craft room they are on the dresser next to the tv...

We had a bunch of kids so we had more hands and eyes looking for them when it's needed. Incidentally, they are also almost always the ones who lose them so we may not have thought that through.

We lose one every.single.time. we watch TV. They are so small and fall between the couch cushions or end up under a blanket or we are sitting on them. I would LOVE a universal remote that controls EVERYTHING but that might be too much to ask. DH certainly could not program it and I don't want to, lol, but if one of the kids did it as a gift, well then, I'd be thrilled. Actually now that I think about it, that's what I will ask for.

I have a brand new fancy sofa that I have never sat on. that does not sound comfortable at all!!! although - maybe if I did that I would focus on the tv more & not have to keep rewinding LOL That's why I rarely watch tv live, usually dvr it first

We have an older model flat screen TV with only one HDMI port, along with a sound bar, a firestick, and our cable box, which all require their own remote because of the way everything had to be cabled. (I know it's a crazy set-up.) Anyway, we have a set of remotes on the end table next to where my husband prefers to sit and I have a full set of remotes on the end table next to my favorite chair. Since it's only the two of us, they never get moved anywhere else in the room.

We have ours in a woven basket on the coffee table. Usually. The DVD remote never gets lost as it is always in DH's hand. My perfect gift would be an affordable universal remote that worked the TV with inputs, Dish, DVD and Roku. Is that even a thing? We had universals in the past and they were just so-so and didn't replace everything.

Each remote has a spot. Coffee table or on the tv stand depending on the room. Bouncing between those two spots we always know where it is. If I’m in a recliner it’s in my lap or table next to me but then returns to the coffee table.

We have a storage compartment in our loveseat between the two sides. We have the remotes in that.

Just one person living here and there is only one remote for the tv/dvr/cable. No one else to blame if I can't find it.
