I’m changing the title yet again to “The ridiculous things the Republicans say.”
Some are so outlandish they deserve their own thread.
I’m changing the title to “The ridiculous things Ted Cruz says”.
It’s to the point that a day doesn’t go by without him saying something radio us.
Ted Cruz is giving an interview. In the tweet is a comment he made that the left doesn’t want to tell you is that slavery was not unique to the United States and what is unique about the United States that sets us a part from other countries that had slaves was emancipation. In our Declaration of Independence it states that ALL men are created equal. So that set the United States apart from other countries that had slaves.
If you can listen to him. I recapped what he said but the way he said it made me want to drag him to the west side of the Golden Gate Bridge and toss him over the side.
As far as the Declaration of Independence in 1776 declaring ALL men were created equal, including men of color, I guess he forgot this country had slaves until 1865 just shy of 100 years after the Declaration of Independence was written. It’s kind of hard to say these slaves that were endowed with certain unalienable rights actually were able to claim they indeed had the right to life, liberty, & the pursuit of happiness.

I do believe, based on the actions of the two main political parties in this country, is those who gravitate toward the Democrats, in a broad sense, do believe all people are born equal but some may need extra help to reach their potential. While those who gravitate toward the Republicans, aka the moral busybodies, don’t.
