Good morning.
Wow. It's the last day of November, already? Time to get ready for Santa and all of his fun. Today I'm taking sil to the airport. Then I'll check in on mil and see how she's doing. They found her on the floor in the middle of the night, but she managed to get back to bed by herself and she shooed them away. Dinner will likely be up in the air. Perhaps we'll bring her favorite udon(soup w/thick noodle). She is only eating a few sips of soup right now.
What's on your menu?
Yesterday we had a barrage of illness. How is everyone feeling today?
lucyg, are you still avoiding the cooties?
Wishing everyone a healthier, happy day today!

Ds is home today. He had a mild fever yesterday with no other symptoms. Fine today. Will text again this evening to make double sure it's not Covid.
Dinner is vegetable soup and pumpkin muffins.

Leftover chicken soup. It's cold and rainy and windy here...UGH Nothing worse than a wet dog either. Thank goodness she was in and out quickly

Today I have been rather busy. I headed to the butcher first thing to get a chicken for dinner, then came home and put it on to cook for a couple of hours. While it was cooking, I cut out lots of squares of Christmas patterned paper - old scrapbook stock, that I am never going to use - to be ready for craft with the after-school kids. Once the chicken was done, it went into the fridge, and I headed into town. I bought the last few things (I think) that I need to get before heading home next week. I also had a yummy roast pork roll for my lunch from one of the market stands. We did get some welcome news overnight. We usually stay at a serviced apartment complex that is walking distance to DS's house when we are in Melbourne, but when DH tried to book, they could only accommodate us until Dec 23, and we are staying until the 29th. I had booked another apartment near my sister for the days left, but this morning DH received an email from the first place, saying they had had a cancellation, and we can now stay the whole time there. Much easier not to have to move mid-vacation! This afternoon I was at school and did all sorts of craft with the kids. Some wanted to continue on with Christmas trees they started yesterday, and a few made the project I had brought. I'll be going back tomorrow to continue the fun. That will be my last session before I leave, as I have an appointment Friday and need Monday and Tuesday to get ready to go.
Dinner tonight is pot roast lemon-garlic chicken. I cooked it early and it smells divine. Just need to make some potatoes to go with it now.

Hi Everyone, scrapmaven Your family is so blessed to have you! We are all doing better today! I am praying that we are almost over it. But we will be at home for the rest of this week. ntsf I am so sorry for your SIL’s diagnosis. Your poor SIL, brother and their family. christine58 We have the same weather and we are going to be eating some homemade chicken soup. Today, all 3 of us are feeling somewhat better. I make sure that when YDS is on his way home, I Clorox wipe down all the appliances, door knobs, faucets, etc that he will be touching. Then we try to use gloves when we touch something. Then I wipe everything down again before I go to bed, because he is the first one up. He really doesn’t want Covid for a third time. Like christine58, it is very rainy, dark, cold and windy out. I have all of my family room and kitchen lights on; which I normally don’t need on. I hope all of you have a peaceful day!

I'm home today for an appointment and a delivery of some furniture ... a huge wall clock, a side table and a sofa table ... can't wait! It is COLD and snowy here in Calgary ... minus 20 or something like that and colder with the windchill ... yay. Later, I am going to my fav furniture and decor store with my girlfriend to look at stuff ... just for something to do! We will probably pick up takeout for dinner on the way home ... burgers maybe ... I'm sending positive thoughts for your SIL and family ntsf!

When you look out the window here it looks perfectly lovely. Bright blue sky & sun. Then you walk outside to 30s with 20 plus mph winds. I’m seeing a new to me vascular dr today. All these years on my feet have not been kind to my leg vessels unfortunately. I need a new prescription for support hose. Really hoping her office can fit me but am doubtful. I’m thinking about making broccoli cheddar soup for dinner. So sorry about your sil ntsf

Happy Wednesday dinner friends. scrapmaven I have a call into the Dr. but, of course, I'm feeling better today. If she will call in an RX for an antibiotic I may finally kick this to the curb. Dinner may be to meet my son and DIL at a yummy place that has great pie too. I'm waiting to hear back from my son, he has a friend that was in a car accident over the weekend, my DIL might be taking dinner to their teenage kids and if so, we'll wait until next week to see them. I haven't seen them for almost 3 weeks and need a GS fix. If we are home, leftovers will be in order. ntsf I'm sorry to hear of your SIL's diagnosis. HAve a great day everyone!

Happy Wednesday! Front came through last night and winter is back for 2 days. At least it's sunny! Mostly doing chores and playing in my sewing room today.
DD saw the doctor this morning and has strep as expected. They gave her some antibiotics and she's back home resting. She's requested some homemade soup so after a quick trip to HEB I'll be making a pot of Chicken Noodle, as well as a pot of Beef Brisket & Barley soup. My dinner will be one of those.

Happy Wednesday! Sky is blue but it is in the mid 20’s and the wind is fierce. I’m making progress on the task I spoke of yesterday. I just hate cutting deadlines close and this will be very close. Dinner will be at the airport. I have a meeting tomorrow and Friday in Las Vegas. I am taking DH with me. We leave this evening. I am so sorry for your SIL’s diagnosis ntsf.

Well, I was feeling like crap this morning and I was supposed to go get my hair done. Took a Covid test, actually took two Covid tests and they came back positive damn thought I had avoided it.
So, my brother is on his way to pick up the antiviral. I hear it taste awful. I have a slight nagging, headache, touch of a sore throat, and some congestion but not much hoping it doesn’t get any worse. Also, hoping that my mother doesn’t get it since I was around her yesterday. No idea where it came from. I really haven’t gone anywhere.

ntsf I'm sorry to hear about your SIL's diagnosis. That must have been a shock. It was DD's 25th birthday, so we had the extended family over for dinner. She wanted pasta. She made a baked ricotta gnocchi dish, and a green bean, pumpkin, pine nut and goat cheese salad. I made a creamy cob loaf dip, a lasagne, and I also cooked a new dish Chicken with Creamy Sun Dried Tomato Sauce. We had fresh fruit and a store-bought chocolate and strawberry torte for dessert. Soooooo much food! At least nobody went home hungry.

So, my brother is on his way to pick up the antiviral. Is there any level of symptoms that warrants the anti-viral? Or are your health issues a concern? Hope your mom doesn't get it and you have a very mild case.

Hello dinner peas. I am not sure what is for dinner tonight. I'm finishing up at the office and then meeting up with my sil to continue to sort through mil's house stuff. I think we finally see an end in sight. My doctor appt went super well. Had x-rays and the surgeon said my fusion is fused!! YAY!! I can add activities as my body tolerates. I got to sleep on my side last night and it was so glorious!! The surgery was the best thing I have done for myself in a long, long time. So sorry to hear about your sil, ntsf. I hope all other of our sickie peas get to feel better soon.

christine58, I'm sorry your have tested positive and hope it is a short version of Covid for you. destined2bmom, hope you all continue to recover and YDS stays healthy. ntsf, I'm sorry to hear about your SIL's diagnosis. Both my guys were gone by the time I got up at 6:30 so I popped on the furnace long enough to warm the house for the newly sheared pup and hit the road for a court hearing. It was short and sweet because my case was called first (never happens) and I was heading home before 9. This means I spent more time on the road than working this morning. I am so happy not to be commuting daily. Dinner tonight is ratatouille, pork chops and rice. I plan to have it all ready before my girlfriend happy hour at 4:30.

we ended up redoing our day. we saw my mother in law, then, my brother said their power was out and there was about 4 inches of sloppy snow at their house. so I skipped seeing my friend and we spent a couple of hours at my brother's. my sister in law is holding in there and she will know more next week. we went straight back home (1.5 hours) so that we could catch a ferry before rush hour and do. most of the driving in the light. so it was store bought pizza and salad for dinner.
I am sad for my sister in law and there is not much any of us can do. she has a good support team of friends.
