Concord & 9th is offering a virtual event. It's on 3/18/23 and its $165. Enrollment opens tomorrow 12/1/22. Scroll thru the Instagram post for additional details. From the website: http://instagr.am/p/ClmVS3fPhUH I'm so tempted but WHY does this have to be the weekend before Crop & Create!

I wish for little more info. I'm not doing C&C so this might be a possibility.

Huh, intriguing. Two bonafide graphic designers, and Laura was the first card maker I followed/totally fell in love with—her geometric work. I like Cathy Z’s cards a lot too, especially her sense of space/white space and scale. I said no more big events/more stuff, but this is two kits and six cards. I just may go for it, since I’m not going to do C&C. I’ve enjoyed Justine Hovey’s events with a few other instructors where you use your own stash if you want too, and there are some hilarious card wars parts. (Eat, Sleep, Crafty Retreats.) Thanks for posting this! azcrafty more info on the website here: concordand9th.com/pages/events Link doesn’t work, will try again, but if it doesn’t, just tap/click on “events” on the error page you get.

It looks like these are the 9 new colors:
Lilac Fig Artichoke Pool (?) Spiced Cider Blueberry Sunflower
From the instagram pic it looks like there are also two new pinks (die cut flowers at the top of the page).

I have done their event in the past and loved the interaction but product, not so much. It would have been nice to see some product names or some more info about it.

Is it just me, or does $165 seem awfully steep for two classes and 6 cards? What am I missing here?

I think it's a higher amount because it includes 9 or 10 ink cubes and cardstock in all their colors (I'm guessing 2 sheets each) which is roughly $70. I decided to do it and signed up. I'd like to branch out from Crop & Create so I'm trying some of the stand alone company events.

I really should pass on the Concord and 9th, but I've got a few days for them to try and suck me into doing their event too.

I counted 12....I you look it the picture on the bottom there is a stripe with 12 different color blocks. I think those are the new colors, the flowers match them. And it said you get a sampler of all the cardstock...I'm sure this is for the color combo class and swatch.

I was counting and looking at everything else. hahaha!

I'm trying to talk myself out of this. I love C&9 ,but: * I dont love these flowers they are showing us. The one they just come out with is more my style. * I'm already collecting the Catherine Pooler mini inks and have all the reinkers to go with them and I don't think I should start with a new brand / set I do want to learn more about color theory and hopefully who join this class will came back and tell us about it....looking at you pinklady 😁 Help me talk myself out of this🤣😂🤣.

I’d like to try but I think the price is steep. I’m not a fan of the cubes and would rather have full size ink pads.
I will enjoy you telling us how good it is! Please report back and let us know how it was.

Since there is not an unboxing for this event, I wanted to post a quick update even though the classes are not until next weekend. I'm pretty much going to be knee deep in card making for the next 2 weekends but I did want to share this with you all. I received my kit and to be really honest, I'm disappointed. I'm not disappointed with the stamps & dies, I'm mainly disappointed with the ink cubes and paper we received. We received 8 ink cubes of the new colors. First, 3 of the colors overlap with the C&C box which I received first so technically, the students signed up for the In The Classroom event were not the first to get the new colors. Second, I truly expected 12 ink cubes so that was a total bummer. The "cardstock sampler" was an A2 panel of each color. That's it! I expected a full sheet of cardstock in each color. On the positive side, the stamps & dies are good and I do like the cards we will make in the class. The swatch dies are something that I never would buy for myself but I think it will be kinda cool to have a small sample of the various cardmaking companies cardstock. As far as the C&9 color line, they are introducing 25 new colors! If you have full set syndrome, this is gonna get expensive! Also, they are discontinuing Marmalade which I think is a HUGE mistake because they are no longer going to have a true orange. All of the colors will be available in April. We did get a coupon code with our kit so that's nice. I'm definitely going to order a full size cardstock sampler and some additional cubes. I did want to mention one thing I noticed while I was making my swatch book. The weight of the cardstock seems to vary by color. Some are normal weight and some are lighter weight. I thought that was strange. Here are some pictures. Sorry my lighting isn't very good. Also, there is a video where you can hear/see more about the colors:
