Just finished my radiation treatments for breast cancer. In talking with my oncologist I asked for a CT Scan to be sure I don't have cancer anywhere else as I did have it in two of four lymph nodes in addition to my breast. The scan shows I have 5 nodules in my lungs. I have an appt with oncologist next week to discuss further, but I am wondering what this means. I have not asked Dr. Google, though I did look up lung nodules on the Mayo Clinic website.

April 1, 2014 I volunteered for a low dose lung scan, as a smoker. April 7th I got the call that I had several nodules in both lungs. Team met that day and decided it could be an issue. Sent to the Cancer institute with an appointment April 21st, surgeon was away when they wanted me to go in on April 14th.
May 7th I had VATS surgery on left lung. Midnight I was isolated, lab claimed I had TB. In the morning the surgeon was pissed...
Not sure how soon I was told, NO cancer. I had fungus in my lungs and do still as far as I know. I do get yearly CT scans.
Sept 2020 radiologist reported possible mass ... Pulmonologist said no, but get another CT scan. The 'mass' was gone.. I still have nodules. As long as they stay the same, I guess all is well.
Relax until they are done testing. I know, easier said then done....

revirdsuba99 That's unnerving as heck. Sorry you went through all that. Just a reminder that medical science is sometimes just people standing around going, "I dunno. What's it look like to you?" just like the any other crew.

I'm pleased to hear you are done with your radiation. Keeping you safe in my thoughts while you get the nodules figured out.

I hate to hear you've got an issue that's causing you concern. but yay for being done with radiation. I hope you get an answer about the nodules soon and it's something minor.

Nodules can be scarring on your lungs, can even be a blood vessel. But it something that needs a follow up. I hoper you get a good report.

I have had multiple nodules for 14 years now. I had had mostly yearly CT scans and they have not grown. This year the doctor finally said we do not need to monitor them anymore. Mine showed up after my uterine cancer.

I have nodules on my right lung. I've had them for years and other than them being monitored for size there has not been the need for any other action. That lung can become painful if I have a cough and I had fungal pneumonia a few years ago but other than that I live with them and forget about them.
Good luck with your appointment, fingers crossed for you.

My mom had nodules on her lungs and it was determined she had been exposed to tuberculosis.

My husband has nodules in his lungs. He had Stills Disease earlier in life and they feel either that or working during college in a book bindery (paper fibers in the air) may have caused it. He gets a yearly chest X-ray but so far none have changed. Now that you are aware of their presence, I’m sure they’ll keep an eye on them regularly.

I can tell you my dad had scarring on his lungs from when he had pneumonia as a teenager. He was a smoker, eventually quitting when I was in high school. He did have lung cancer, amongst other things, and the doctors freaked out when they saw the scarring thinking it was cancerous. Nope, just scarring. so it could be any number of things that are nothing. Easier said than having to live with it however.

I had lung nodules found in a CT scan I had to have before my heart valve surgery. If they are bigger than a certain size they want to do another one in 6 months. I was told a large number of people have them due to pollution or other factors. Most are benign.

I have some on left lung. I think for now they are just going to monitor them via CT scan. Probably need to have one soon. Last one was in October
