Ha! Yes! I really dont want to watch (mainly so they don't get to count my view) but would love a Tik Tok or post with the cliff notes. Between what's talked about in the news + a cliff note version, I will know enough without having to actually watch. Try out From Berkshire to Buckingham. It's the best I've found so far for getting the details without having to actually suffer through the shows. To get the most detailed information you will need to subscribe. It's $5/month and easy to start/stop a subscription. It's on Substack. Hope this helps. Thanks! I am going to subscribe!

I just saw something on TikTok, a podcast she gave talking about how the first time Meghan and Harry hosted William and Catherine for dinner she describes herself as 'wearing ripped jeans and barefoot" all easy breezy making herself sound like she was some California casual beach girl. She talks about how they were so formal and stiff and criticized them for acting that way even at her home during an intimate dinner where she was serving them in her dirty bare feet. Girl. Come the F on. Does anyone buy this crap? I mean, even if it's true, why would you try and make then sound like unrelatable tight asses? Its this ish that pisses me off about her. In my world you don't talk mess about family. Not petty bs like this. OMG I totally agree. I'm a regular middle-class person from Kentucky. I would NEVER serve dinner to even my closest family in ripped jeans and barefoot...much less someone I was about to meet who just happened to be the future king and queen of England. And if I went to someone's house and they were doing that...I would think something was mentally off with them. And I'm not a hugger. Just not. I'm a warm and loving person, but I need my personal space. If you run up to me and hug me (especially in said ripped jeans and bare feet)...it will not make a good impression. I'm so glad this woman didn't marry into my family. But again, I totally agree oh yvonne -- this is so stupid and petty -- WHY would you publicly broadcast this? I think it makes Meghan look worse than the BRF.

If Prince William and Kate were coming over to meet you for the first time, wouldn't you put out a little more effort to make them feel welcome, and not assume they will blend into your lifestyle? TBH, Harry takes a lot of the blame here. He knew what would make wills and Kate feel comfortable.

Ripped jeans and bare feet aside, denigrating your sister in law to millions for millions is classless and rude.

No. For a couple who left the RF because they wanted their privacy, why are they doing a tell all and exposing all of the stuff that they had wanted to stay private? Attention whores. This!

Obviously, I'll watch because I'll want to talk about it...and if you are going to have an opinion about something then you need to see it for yourself. My favourite line (sarcasm) already is Harry saying "there's a hierarchy in this family" No shit Harry! How long has it taken you to come to this stunning insight about the Monarchy that you were born into? 😂

I adore William and Kate too much to want to be a part of what Megan and her husband put out.

Who could have predicted that members of the British Royal Family would be stiff and formal? I have it on good authority that, once her royal duties were finished, Queen Elizabeth did tequila shots and sang karaoke in ripped jeans and bare feet. What a legend. And, as everyone knows, King Charles has a reputation for his skills with a beer bong. Man, those royals really know how to cut loose.

Reports on IG from a few royal watchers I follow said the focus of the first episode was H&M's "great love story" which, IMO, is just a regular kind of love story, if that. And here is a review from Variety Magazine, where Meghan was recently featured: variety.com/2022/tv/reviews/harry-and-meghan-markle-netflix-1235454200/ From the first paragragh: "They may have shed their responsibilities to the crown, but they’re still in a kind of service: There’s an air of duty about the entire enterprise of “Harry & Meghan,” as if they’re honor-bound to keep reciting their personal story until we eventually lose interest.
LOL ain't that the truth.

No only because I’m not interested in any of the royal family. I did watch some seasons of The Crown but watched it for entertainment not caring that it was based on the royal family.

I’m really curious what their point is? What do they want exactly? I thought they had said the Oprah interview would be their last word about leaving? 🤷♀️if the royal family/firm is so awful, why do they keep using the titles?
I doubt I’ll be bothered to waste time watching, but it’s all quite baffling to me.

I did watch it. And I found it quite interesting. The focus was on their relationship and how their very different backgrounds had similarities that helped bring them together. They didn’t complain about the royal family. The press and race were the main focus of the show. I know most people have negative views of the couple but I understand their desire to tell their own story. No hate from me.

OK, I just watched and have so many opinions! A couple of main take aways:
- every time they tell "their story" - it's different. The how they met story is completely different in this Netflix fairytale retelling than it has been any other time. No wonder so many people stop believing them because they show us yet again that they blatantly lie when it suits them to. So you never know which version is true. And now there's this new narrative of Meghan being a single girl on Suits living in Toronto. No mention that for the first few years she was married. In fact there's zero mention of her ever being married, or her previous 7 year relationship with Trevor. Someone used the neuralyzer from Men in Black on them and they've completely erased her ex-husband from their memories. They really are pretending that everything with Harry was her first time.
- they've "never been allowed to tell their story before" So what was that with Oprah...a worldwide collective hallucination?
- Meghan laughing and mocking how she had to curtsy to his (now dead but alive at the time) Grandmother, and he sits there and lets her do it. So disrespectful and immediately upped my dislike of them both up a notch. Sure, we've probably all bitched and made fun of something to do with our own families at some point - but not on a platform designed for billions of people to watch.
- They are showing a whole bunch of their personal photos, Archie's nursey, Harry down on one knee proposing, kissing in the kitchen of their home...and then Harry without the slightest bit of insight or embarrassment says "it's amazing that some people will accept huge amounts of money to hand over photographs to create a story" Excuse me? Thats exactly what YOU are doing right now!! Your photos for an $80M Netflix reality show!
They are in a car looking around and worrying about being filmed...while being filmed for a tell all reality show. I've said all along that it was never about them wanting privacy...they are perfectly happy to share every detail of their private lives, just not for free like they would have done while working Royals...they just wanted to be paid for it. Living in the UK as working Royals, it was a secret who Archies Godparents are, in the USA Netflix signs the multimillion-dollar cheque (check) and suddenly we're inside Archie's nursery as meets "granny Diana" in an oddly formal portrait hanging on his wall. It was also clear that they've been planning for this and filming content for quite some time.

I thought it was very strange that Meghan was filming while Harry proposed. Put the phone down and live in the moment!

In Canada it’s not a thing to wear shoes in the house (I actually think that’s weird and dirtier to walk into the house off the street and wear this same shoes all over your house but that’s a whole other thread we’ve all read before 🤪) and so I’ve definitely served dinner in my bare feet, in fact my guests even had bare feet. Maybe some had socks on, I don’t know don’t care. This doesn’t register as a big thing to me here. 🤷🏽♀️

You guys, it's not about the bare feet specifically, it's about her mocking them and trying to act as if she's oh so down to earth and they were uptight assholes.

I saw the first two episodes and thought H&M came across as the loved up couple that we saw here during the engagement. There was nothing there to get my back up over their behaviour. There were a few things that didn’t ring true but nothing to wind me up.
I was perplexed at the images of the engagement as we’d been “told” some time ago that it happened in the kitchen of their Royal home while Meghan was roasting a chicken. Other news reports said it happened in Africa and Netflix say it happened in their garden. Does it really matter other than to underline “recollections may vary.”?
I was surprised at Megan’s theatrical pretence of a curtesy as she had previously said that Sarah Ferguson took her aside and showed her what to do.
I was surprised at Meghan’s dig at Kate regarding hugging at their first meeting. Given how touchy feely Wills and Kate are with members of the public I find it hard to believe Kate wouldn’t return a hug from the girl who was to be her sister in law.
I was surprised at the shots of them “being followed by the paparazzi” in the car supposedly in England 1. Because why were they being filmed in their car at that point (presumably to use footage for their own purposes in the future so therefore they knew earlier on that there was to be their own film). 2. At that point I thought the media here were hanging back and the paps going after Meghan seemed to be in Canada not London.
I do not believe they would have that particular photo of Diana on a wall in such a manner.
So at the moment I’m feeling it was quite sweet and bland and the few odd points aren’t riling me. I’m saying this from the point of view as having fallen under their spell at the start and then getting fed up and angry at their disrespectful behaviour as time went on.

This is all I really need to see to know I dont need to see a second more. I guess she is trying to be relatable/funny, but I don't find it all that endearing - and I'm not even British!

Harry gives her the most awkward look when she does that whole fake curtsey thing. I have only watched reactions with clips of it and not the entire thing
