Yes, I made a Christmas present tag. It took me 2 hours. One tag. It isn't that the die is hard (at all) or that I did mixed media, it is because I was not prepared (mentally) to craft today. My goal is to make 45 tags before next weekend. I have a bunch of really cute Christmas dies that need to be used. To be fair, I cut out enough die cuts to make 5 more tags, but had to walk away when I couldn't find my ink daubers. Will go back in after a Christmas party tonight and I will get the other 5 finished. They really just need to be assembled. Laughing at how long it took me just to find all of my tools and redo everything I messed up in the first go 'round. Only 44 more to go! I should have started this months ago. I have watched way too many videos of YouTubers making everything in 8 minutes. Adding the tags...

Do all the tags have to be different? That's a lot of tags if they all have to be different! When I have to make a bunch of something, the first one I make usually takes me the longest because I'm constantly changing my mind or I need to get this thing or that thing. Good luck getting them all done!

I’m excited for you! LOL
Sadly, I am still in the “watching a gazillion YouTube how-to-make-tags videos” and have yet to make a single tag. Heck, I can’t even decide on a design. Ha. I betting that I don’t get any made (again) this year. I don’t think I have any tags of any kind, so washi tape may be the de facto gift tags by default.

A crafter after my own heart. Even after making a basic card, it looks like a tornado hit my living room. I've been doing lots of pocket scrapping, but I made an 8.5x11 page yesterday and WOW! I forgot how slow I am at making full size pages.

Good luck getting them all done! I am making five or six of each tag. So far, the ones I have planned are all from Tim Holtz dies or Sizzix. The first one was painful. I did get the rest of them done and two snowy trees completed. Good enough for one day.

I forgot how slow I am at making full size pages. I feel like I can get my pages done efficiently. I plan so much that it is just about doing the page. Tags/cards involve a lot more of a process. I used tools I don't normally use and it was just comical.

For gift tags I go super super simple. I mean it’s getting ripped off and probably thrown out with the paper. So tag base ( various shapes ) , one small sentiment, & one punched or stamped or diecut embellishment NOT all three or even two. That’s it. Then I’m not upset when wrappings go flying.
I use scraps only, no new full sheets. This year I diecut 30 bases and so far I’ve done
Also, I ONLY, hand make gift tags when I’m enjoying it. I mean if I’m not enjoying it then I can get a bunch for $1.25 at dollar tree or Walmart or Walgreens or somewhere.
Cut yourself a break, you got one done, prepped for more, go back when it makes you happy or don’t it’s ok.

I generally make them out of really good quality material and then put a piece of colored twine on them. The twine is attached to the paper, so it easily comes off fully intact. My kids are so good about taking off the tags and ribbon and tossing them to me for the next year's use. Our gift unwrapping usually takes a good few hours because we all unwrap one at a time, chat about what might be in the package, share favorite stories about previous gifts, refill a margarita, hide a gift or two that someone has to go find, take potty breaks, etc. It is the one truly "magical" thing about Christmas my family has. My kids (fully gown adult men) act like goofs and the night never fails to be awesome. Part of the magic is that the presents look amazing, so I am happy to invest some time in creating reusable tags that I love. There are very few things in my life that I pay this much attention to detail with. Normally I am a very normal person... just not for gift wrapping.

I made a bunch of tags about ten years ago and I store them in a tin to be brought out year after year. It took a long time to make the tags, but they turned out really well and it ends up being a huge time saver every year because I don't have to write on them.

It's lovely. Although I absolutely hate, hate, hate wrapping so nothing (not quite true, I love wrapping the first couple of presents, but then I'm bored of it all) so it's not the prettiest pile of gifts. Good luck with the rest of the tags!

I am up to 12 tags finished and another 12 in the process. I am doing six of each kind. Here are the two that are finished. They are on thick chipboard, so hopefully will stand up to years of use. Need to make a bunch of smaller ones too apparently.
