2. The GOP does not have a total majority in Congress and to get what they want they will default on the debt to get it and won’t care about the collateral damage they will cause to get what they want. And keep in mind what they want is to cut Social Security and Medicare while making the trump tax cuts for corporations the rich permanent.

When asked about this secret memo which supposedly includes what McCarthy agreed to for votes below is Chip Roy’s answer. Which brings up two scenarios. McCarthy doesn’t know what he agreed to for votes or Chip Roy is lying and there is a written list.
Remember, these guys are claiming they will be transparent. But what they are not saying is they will only be transparent if it suits them. That’s their mantra these days.

To be fair, this is an actual proposal from some Democrats that was put out in December. They want to ban gas stoves. I doubt it would get any traction at all but this is now going to be the new "banning burgers" talking point. |

Another state taking action against 'assault' weapons. SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (CBS) -- The Illinois State Senate approved a statewide assault weapons ban on Monday.The bill passed 34-20. All senators were present; five did not vote. The vote came down after almost four full days of backroom discussions and debate. The clock had been ticking to pass the ban before current lawmakers leave office and newly-elected ones are sworn in Wednesday. The bill must now go back to the Illinois House of Representatives for reconciliation, but this is really just a formality. The House passed its own version of the bill, called the Protect Our Communities Act, on Thursday night into Friday morning. The bill will go to Gov.
