Just bought a 3d printer that arrives Friday. I'd like (between the hubs and I) to learn to successfully use it! Have wanted one for ages. What one did you get? I got DSO the Ender 3 v2. He’s just setting it up now. Wish “us” luck!

He’s just setting it up now. Wish “us” luck! We bought the Ender 3 S1 Pro. Popped up on lightning deal for the same price as Black Friday yesterday when the day before I had mentioned wanting it again but not having a clue when it would go on sale next. Good luck! I hope you enjoy it!

How to foil using the Silhouette. I cannot find a good BASIC tutorial. Like starting from taking the pens out of the package, etc.

I've been moving back to more digi scrapping, so continuing to play with and learn with Canvaa and photoshop elements.
Knitting. I can crochet, but always had trouble with the two knitting needles. I've watched some more videos and think I understand better, so would like to try again. But also need to work on some more longer term knit projects.
Mixed media - I was getting into more, when I have time I like to play with inks, stencils, pastes, etc.
This thread is a good reminder. I am trying to think of resources for print & cut, but I usually just google around until I find it. I think Traci Reed also has some good tutorials on it.

cbet -that is such a cool find! I hope you're able to figure it out. I'd like to learn: -foiling on silhouette (I have the original portrait) -how to calibrate my silhouette. My print & cut and even using the pixscan mat cut why off from where the design is even though it shows it all lining up nicely on my screen -copic coloring. I've signed up for a free class from the site mentioned above. Looking forward to that. -Photoshop-I'd like to find out why the workspace is loading so low on the screen & flickering when I have it set for a graphic design workspace. I've been scouring the internet & haven't found anything that comes close to what could be causing this problem. I've uninstalled, then reinstalled. Nothing is working. I hope the above mentioned problems aren't caused by my Mac. They've been working nicely together for a few years & then this all happens.

I really want to explore my gelliplates this year. I am gathering inspiration and considering purchasing VB's class to get started. I am interested in adding more "artistic" techniques to my arsenal.

I think I say the same things every year and have yet to do them but I want to learn Photoshop, how to use my Silhouette better, and foiling with the Minc I've yet to take out of the box!

My parents used to love to go to auctions, my father passed this fall and my brother was going thru a bunch of boxes of things they bought - there was a 1929 sock knitting machine in the original shipping crate and with all the instructions. I want to figure out how to use it and make some socks for next Christmas. First of all, please know that I am so sorry about your father. How awful! My condolences to your family. I hope you are all coping okay. re the sock knitting machine, That's an awesome find and a fantastic goal! I used to buy wool socks from a wonderful woman who had one of those old circular sock knitting machines. They were the coziest, warmest, loveliest socks ever. I hope you'll be able to get proficient with your machine and make your own socks, too. There is nothing quite like them. It is really amazing and exciting that you actually have the instructions to go along with the machine. I hope you'll be able to decipher them. I used to collect needlework patterns from that time period, and in my experience, they are harder to work from than current-day patterns are. However, they are usually doable if you're willing to invest the brainpower in trying to figure them out.

It was a long time coming and actually somewhat of a relief; he had dementia and my mother was bound and determined that she would be keeping him at home. In the end, he declined very quickly and the worst of it didn't last long, which was a blessing. But I don't think she really let us know a lot of the worst of it. But the knitting machine - I have found several YouTube videos with what looks to be the same machine, so if all the parts are really there, I think I'll be able to do it!

I want to learn how to use my Cameo. I bought a used one from my friend when she upgraded two years ago. I still haven't used it. Just bought it since it was a good deal and because I threw out my first one. I had the very first model that came out and am convinced it was a lemon. I never cut more than 3 or 4 projects successfully with that thing - and always with so much frustration. I used to use my Cricut E so had that to compare it to. My Cameo was garbage! I made it a goal to learn my new Cameo this year!

Me too! I have a gelliplate and it has been fun playing with it, but I feel like I am missing the mark and end up with more mess than nice prints. I am also thinking of taking the plunge and buying VB's class as a starting place. I also want to do a bit more mixed media in general. I have lots of pastes and stencils and would like to integrate them into my pages a bit more. Even if I don't do an entire background, I think it would be fun to just play and then cut up what I make to use as embellishments.

It is wonderful that he was able to spend his last days at home with his loved ones. re the knitting machine -- I marvel at the things you are able to find on the internet. It is simply amazing to me that there are videos available on a machine that looks just like yours. Wow! Awesome! I sure hope you can do it!

I would like to learn how to watercolor florals (or anything!) Have you seen Erum Tasneem's work? She works with Altenew. I think she is on their design team. She posts bunches of ideas for coloring florals -- some of them are watercolor and some of them are other media, but all the work of hers I've seen has been really amazing. She has a Youtube channel, and I have been meaning to check out her Youtube videos. vibgyorkrafts.blogspot.com/

Machine embroidery! My Christmas gift to myself was a Brother SE625. I haven’t had time to really deep dive into any practice or projects with it, but the possibilities are exciting. I love sewing.
