i just made a Shutterfly order yesterday so I'll be ready to go.
Our family doesn't do much Christmas stuff except for baking cookies (which hasn't happened yet- they will have to be New Year's cookies) and opening gifts Christmas morning. We talked in another thread about how difficult those opening present layouts are to scrap.
I'm all over the place in my Christmas layouts. One photo layouts, six photo 2-page layouts, and everything in between. All kinds of styles, all kinds of colors. It is like mixing rock music, rap, and classical all in one album. Which some Gregorian chants and dubstep mixed in.
So what papers do you like to use? Do you go traditional red and green? Do you use turquoise and pink? Do you like regular style, Doodlebug/cartoony style, or Vintage style?
What shows up most on you layouts? Do you include Santa Claus embellishments? Reindeer? Snowmen? Religious images?
What embellishments make an appearance?
And finally, what were some of your all time favorite Christmas collections?

I may scrap a bit tomorrow when dgs and dsil are skiing. I printed pic's of cookie making and tree decorating, so those are good to go. I also plan to print pic's from Christmas DAy when I am in town this upcoming Friday. To answer some of your questions, artbabe, I have a whole corner cupboard filled with Christmas themed scrappy supplies, plus a bunch of card making supplies I pulled out earlier, and I pick and choose and mix and match as the mood strikes me. I tend to have lots of traditional red & green supplies, but also quite a stash of blue/silver to choose from. And quite a collection of holographic foil in both silver and gold. If anyone plans to scrap Christmas in January, please join a challenge team HERE and we can encourage each other.

I'm a traditionalist - I like cranberry and evergreen but red/green work also - no pink/turquoise for me usually (although if it ends up in my stash it'll eventually get used somewhere)

I find that for more current layouts I like to use really pretty paper that comes with embellishments. That way I can pick almost anything. Our Christmas pictures this year came from church, in front of the tree and the zoo. I don't take any of us opening gifts. Those three places will enough for a 2 or 4 page layout.
ETA: I have the 49th and Market Christmas Wishes paper/embellishments for this year's pictures. So pretty.

I don't use traditional red and green, I don't particularly love the combination and it looks too heavy and dark with my photos. I rarely use Christmas paper, if I do it's likely to be something with a floral or greenery motif, or stars. I use whatever colours work with my photos which often includes pink, turquoise, or aqua.
I don't have a lot of Christmas stash, so I try to use whatever I've bought each year so I can buy all new things next year. I tend to steer clear of wintery imagery, so I'll use reindeer but typically avoid snowmen or snowflakes. I use holly and Christmas trees or greenery a lot, in my Dec album this year I'm including stamped holly leaves in with my floral clusters and loving the little nod to Christmas.
I rarely buy much from any collection, but I adored the little animals in the Cocoa Vanilla collection last year.

Today I worked on some coloring with my alcohol markers. Tomorrow is a down day since it will be raining. Going to do the last day in my DD (Christmas photos).
Hit enter too soon lol
I do like to use traditional colors as well as teals and pinks and lime greens. Also gold and silver. Honestly I like it all.
I use trees and snowmen, santa and deer, candy canes, snowflakes, etc.
I do have a hard time using poinsettias though. Why? I dont know.

I have 7 stories left (baking cookies Christmas Eve, the blizzard/no Christmas Eve service or dinner at my parents' house, cocoa & cuddles with my Hallmark mug & new Hallmark hooded blanket, Christmas morning at our house, Christmas morning at my parents' house, Christmas photos of my new niece, & belatedly celebrating with my nephew) of 29 total to scrap in my Countdown to Christmas album, and 2 of those stories will be multi-photo pages. I use plenty of red & green but also lots of blue and pink, too. I think I will be scrapping the photos of my kids & my partner meeting my niece as part of our regular family album even though it took place on Christmas Day. We do lots of Christmas activities throughout the season although they now tend to happen on weekends and back-to-back since my kids are only with me half the time.
My Christmas layouts are not much different from my regular layouts: lots of mixed media in the background, some journaling, stitching or staples, a handful of elements. This year, I used templates that use many more papers than I usually use so my layouts have many less elements than usual as the intricate paper designs acted as elements. I enjoy and collect (tabletop) Christmas trees so trees show up on lots of my pages but the other Christmas-y elements just depend on the theme of the story I'm scrapping.

I have a stack of Christmas photos I had printed that could keep me scrapping all year! So many photos!
I am going to use whatever is in my Christmas box of paper and embellies. With all these photos I am likely to have lots of photos on a page covering up a lot of real estate.
I like traditional themes like holly, pine boughs, red and green in all shades. But for dgds I also use pink. I love the Prima Christmas papers.
It would be nice to make a big dent in my Christmas stash so I can freely say I NEED Christmas paper. But that is a pipe dream I fear.
