Asking over here because there’s a little more traffic.
I’m recently divorced. For years I mostly made cards for ex-dh. Many of the sets I have and the techniques I perfected were specifically made with him in mind.
I love Lawn Fawn critters. All of my stamp/die sets are from LF. Earlier today I was doing a little inventory and I realized that I did some pretty amazing work with those stamp sets. I also bought their most recent Valentine’s Day set.
I’ve expanded my cardmaking and I now make cards more frequently for people other than ex-dh. I can imagine there will come a time that I’m in a new relationship. I can think of a million ideas that I would love to share with someone, but of course many of them include sets I’ve used before.
Would that be disrespectful to a new fella? I don’t think so but even thinking about it makes me feel bad; like I don’t want to use recycled love ideas but there is nothing I like better than to show my feelings with a card I made.

I don't think it would be disrespectful, at all. Especially if you change it up a little bit. And honestly, the only reason your future fellow would even know is if you told him.

Not disrespectful at all. Keep making cards. I bet you'll find that even the "same" card is just a bit different the second time around.

I don't think it will be a problem at all (unless it feels wrong to you) but I also wouldn't worry about it right now. Just keep playing and doing what you love

That's like saying you can no longer share the family recipe for ________ with your new partner because you made it for the previous one. Go ahead and make your cards! You'll only get better the more you create, anyways.

As long as the card isn’t identical to those you made for your ex, I see nothing wrong with using the same stamp sets that you’ve used in the past. By then, you may have new stamp sets to use, anyway.

Thank you all. I honestly thought I would never even be in this position. I'm glad that the consensus is keep dong what I do. I was leaning in that direction, but since no one I know is a crafter I wanted to make sure that I wasn't crazy!
