Found art teachers at local public, residential high school to take art supplies I have to donate. Thankful a friend who works there set it up. .
(If any one wants to Google, it's ASMSA/Ark. school for Mathematics, Sciences, and the Arts. It's operated by the state, no OOP for students or families to attend. Recent graduate got a full ride to Colombia, her friend and fellow graduate got a full ride into UPenn. One is featuring tomorrow before leaving. Not sure how much $ will be donated to her by attendees. Some features use it for gas money to get home or give to restaurant staff to split.)
Got more storage boxes at DT to organize stuff.
Need to work on pricing stuff for booths. Will likely stock Friday before swap meet weekend.

Removed the old alarm system off the garage wall, vacuumed the floor (faster than sweeping and I’m lazy!) and rearranged the shelves including putting my cleaned out tool box up and out of the way. Looks sooo good and my ankles thank me every morning when I don’t gouge myself on the stupid thing! Only took fifteen years 🤣

I brought home another SUV load of trash, plus a box of photos to sort, from my parent's house. They had a foot high stack of old yellow pages, duplicates of really old appliances (think harvest gold), every instruction manual for every item they ever purchased...I could go on. I am SO inspired to purge even more at my house!

Well, something happened last night so I wasn't able to give art supplies to teacher. Told contact that I will just add stuff for next week. (Contact is a Japanese language teacher at school).
Trash bin was overflowing, which is rare for us. Trying to get going on next week's pickup. It's going to take a while to get everything in shape for my aunt. She complains about everything. Your laundry detergent is pods? Complaint. You don't do enough of one thing yet overcompensate in another area? Complaint. Stand up for yourself after she tells you to do so? Complaint.
Need to redo booths sometime. Still dealing with manic episode some, which I just don't sleep. I am going to try to rest today and then work on booth tomorrow

My goodness, y'all. It finally happened. Cue skies opening and birds singing...
My 22 y/o son spontaneously and voluntarily purged about 15-16 items from his drawers for donation.
Yes, you heard me right. On. His. Own.
He had brought me two overflowing baskets of dirty laundry to do which took three loads to get through. That evening I had it all folded and stack on the kitchen island for him to take and put away. He disappeared for a bit and then came back with a basket full of what he had selected to donate. He said he remembered me telling him what's left behind in your drawers when everything you have is dirty is probably what you're never going to wear anyway.
Be still my heart.
I raved to my husband about it so much he quipped, "Good lord hon, the boy didn't cure cancer."

Congratulations!🎉🎉🎉. It's a great feeling when it finally starts to click with the other family members! He said he remembered me telling him what's left behind in your drawers when everything you have is dirty is probably what you're never going to wear anyway. Excellent advice! I raved to my husband about it so much he quipped, "Good lord hon, the boy didn't cure cancer." 😂 Maybe not, but still almost a miracle!

I FINALLY dropped off that box of summer clothes for donation yesterday! It’s only been sitting in my house for a month and in my car trunk for two weeks. 😳 I have another box of stuff plus a kid’s comforter and pillow that no one claimed when I posted on Buy Nothing that I need to take to Salvation Army, but I need to go through a basket of nice stuffed animals that DD no longer loves first because some of them can go with it. I really need to weed through my own socks and underwear drawers because they’re bursting at the seams. I have one particular brand and style of socks that I really like but they get super dingy and gray from our hard water, ugh. We can’t use a lot of bleach because we have a septic system, so I end up buying new socks so I have some that are white. Meanwhile the old ones are fine, just dingy. I hate to just throw away socks that aren’t actually worn out so I take them to the cabin, but they eventually end up back at home because I’m wearing them when I come home, LOL. So I really need to just make some hard (for me) choices. Then there are the dozens of pairs of basically new underwear that I bought thinking I’d love them, but nope. They’re way too big to give to DD, and they can’t be donated because they’re not “new in package.” So they sit in my dresser drawer taking up space until the elastic gets crispy and I can justify throwing them away. 🙄

Dropped off three books with DS when we saw him the other - that was the win. He also dropped off books for me...more than 3 (more like 9).
I did add 2 books to the donation box today and one more is set aside for DS when we next see him.
I still don't seem to have more books leaving than coming in but at least the ratio is better and MOST books are leaving once I've read them...it's a start I guess.
I put three pairs of jeans in the donation box also - two were too big (36 waist - I'm in 32 now) and the third fits but the legs are too short for me so I never wear them. There's one more pair that is living on borrowed time -I'll wear once more and make a final decision but I think they're probably also leaving. That'll leave me with one pair that fits and one pair that's a size too big (34s)...which I'll keep until I can get at least one more 32.

Our daughter took our like new HUGE Coleman cooler and picnic jug from back in our camping days. It took up a whole shelf in the basement. And she’s taking a couple of other big things but didn’t have room in her car.

As always, fantastic job ladies! Lots of support and inspiration here.
Right now there is a bunch of in-between stuff in my house.
Huge box of new school supplies sitting in the living room, that I'm just waiting to know exactly how the kids' new teachers will want the folders and composition books labelled, and awaiting the days we are allowed to bring everything in to the school building before actual school starts (It is a whole lot of stuff).
There are books that I am going to go through with my youngest, to see which books he still wants.
There are a few really heavy things in the basement that I want to get out, but need the permission of the person that technically owns it. I've realized that I'm middle aged, and don't want to leave it there until a time when I'm not strong enough anymore to carry it up the steep stairs.
I've been tossing worn out/ expired/ broken things as I see them. Ripped undergarments, forgotten foods in the fridge (I date everything, so easy to know what is old), condiments that no one actually likes, stained clothes, junk mail (endless), just about used up toiletries (especially when a new bottle has then been started and placed right next to it).

When I see that, if they’re the same product I usually make the effort to just pour the rest of the old one into the new one so I can get rid of the extra bottle without wasting whatever was left. At one point I had this double ended threaded plastic thing that I could use to screw the top of one bottle to the top of another bottle the same size, so the old one could drain into the new one without coming off and making a mess. I’m not sure what happened to it but it sure came in handy for stuff like dish soap, shampoo or body wash.

I make a real effort to use up shampoo/bodywash/handsoap by putting in a little water, shaking it up, and using it myself.
Sometimes I just give myself grace, toss the bottle with that last remnant, and try to save my mental health.

Very pretty set up.
Have you ever had a "$1/each" basket, for things that you want to move quick before donating them? A thrift near me has a square laundry hamper for this, and people are quick to snap it up.

I made good progress today.
My youngest went through the bookshelf, and half of it is deemed good to go for donation. I was surprised how much he's letting go. I was able to put this year's book report books on the top shelf for both kids (there are set books each month for each grade. I buy them used in advance, because the library rarely has them, and only lets you borrow for one week, instead of the usual three).

I had planned to work in the storage unit today, but this week has been exhausting, so I stayed home.
I did manage to finish a small Bath and Body Works tea light candle and one of their Mason jar candles with a lid, and I started a 3 wick candle today. I have an embarrassingly large stash of their candles, and I need to enjoy them! I'm thinking I might treat myself so some new ones next year during their Black Friday sales, lol.
I also took 9 Christian fiction books outside to my car to take to church. I've read them, enjoyed them, but do not plan to read them again - I need the shelf space, and my TBR pile exceeds my current reading rate! I have a few non Christian fiction ones that I need to take to Goodwill.
It's not much progress, but it is still some! I also pulled out a few new Bark Box toys to take to my coworkers when we meet in person next month. I have one final box left in my subscription, so I am more than ready for a break! I still have an entire bin of toys that I haven't given to my dogs to play with yet... 😳

I've realized that I'm middle aged, and don't want to leave it there until a time when I'm not strong enough anymore to carry it up the steep stairs. Smart - dh and I have both been noticing recently that there are things that we can't do as easily any more One of our booths got a do over. Some old stuff is going to GW, some to ASMSA, some stored. looks great Sometimes I just give myself grace, toss the bottle with that last remnant, and try to save my mental health. giving yourself grace is always a good thing. I had planned to work in the storage unit today, but this week has been exhausting, so I stayed home. (((Hugs))) sounds like you made some good progress anyway I've managed to empty out an under-the-bed box - it held Girl Scout tee-shirts (I was a volunteer for many years). I am no longer an active volunteer so I've added them to my t-shirt drawer with the intent of wearing around the house/for exercise etc...and if they don't fit right or I consistently bypass them - I'll move them to donation. While I was at it - I moved 3 more tee-shirts to donation...they are old, shapeless, and a size bigger than I'm currently wearing. The tee I'm wearing today will join them after it gets washed. Found another duplicate book that I added to the pile to give the big kids and a duplicate postcard that they claimed also.

That totally makes sense. My family is pretty brand loyal so we tend to buy the same things over and over which makes combining old and new much easier.

if the tshirts are old and shapeless, don't donate them. make them into rags or just get rid of.. no one will buy them.

Thank you. When we were in a flea market in the next county, they had dollar day promotions 2x/yr. Item had to be worth $20 or more or bundles had to be worth the same. I would bundle stuff up and sell that way. If they didn't move then, they were donated. My Dad hated that promotion. (Said it didn't benefit vendors, but benefited owners alot. I didn't like that they weren't very transparent with selling trends like other owners are/have been in our experience). I have started another GW box in the house. Hope to get it filled soon.

Gave some cones the boy had for his childhood soccer days to a co-worker whose son is really into soccer.
It’s a slow drip, but stuff is still going out.

Today I'm going through a couple of the 12 book boxes that were packed up last summer for the remodel. All of the stuff in them came from the living room shelves, but not everything is going back up there. We are having the designer style the shelves for us once the rest of the new stuff gets here. DH is going to put most of his books in his office, which means he has to clear off a couple of shelves of magazines. They will either go to his office for anyone who wants them, or into the recycling bin. I've starting going through my books and so far have pulled two craft related books to be gotten rid of. I'll probably donate them to the library for the book sale they always have going in the lobby. There are also a few boxes of my mother's old books from the 40s, as well as quite a few from my great aunt's elementary teaching career, mostly from the 40s. I plan to cherry pick a few favorites and then get rid of the rest. Many of the elementary books are not p.c., so will probably end up recycling most of those. And in a huge reversal, DH mentioned this morning that he is thinking it may be time to get rid of his Nordic Track ski machine! We really don't have room for it and he rarely uses it anymore. Fingers crossed that he follows through with this! It’s a slow drip, but stuff is still going out. Those slow drips do add up over time though!

I've done another pass through of my scrapping space and pulled out a good sized (for me) stack of papers to get rid of. I also went through some of my embellishment storage and all of them now have breathing space.
I've added a couple of things to my use it or lose it pile, so if they're not used by the end of Sept they will also be donated.

I have gone through all 12 boxes now. Four of them are DH's and labeled for him to go through later. I don't have the heart to tell him about the 2 bins of old books in the storage unit! Found another box of photo albums. Emptied three boxes and the boxes are in the recycling bin. My donation pile is now over 2 dozen books! My books and DD's books are piled all over the dining room table. I need to get her over here and see what she wants to keep. I've added a couple of things to my use it or lose it pileThat's a great idea! I need to start a 'use it or lose it' pile in my sewing room. I am hoping my quilt guild has their annual garage sale later this year. Have never done it in the past but I've reached the point where I'm ready to get rid of lots of stuff.
