What does everyone do with their Silhouette files/zips? Do you keep them? I always do a direct download, and I'm not sure why I started doing that. I keep them all but do I even need to? Wouldn't I just be able to get them back from Silhouette if I lost them? I could keep the ones I buy externally, but do you keep the ones that you actually purchase from Silhouette? I am in the process of reorganizing my files, and I want to streamline as much as possible. I have way too many files that I never use. Anyway, I was just curious what everyone else does.

Mine are all saved to the cloud. I only save the ones I have actually used.

I don't keep the zip files. I can't think of a time in all the years I've been downloading digi supplies/cut files that I've ever needed to go back into it, although I have (once) used the backup I had on an external hard drive when my main drive died.

See, me either. And to be honest, I could lose a lot of files and I don't think I would even notice! I have certain ones that I use more often, but a lot were just freebies or on sale or something. Sometimes I go through them and I think wow, that's really cute. Why haven't I used that, lol. I do have them organized in Silhouette though, so I am happy with that. Its just all the files on my hard drive I don't think I really need.

I store the non-Silhouette brand of files to my computer, in storage folders that I have set up, so that I can find things quickly. To be honest, I rarely download the freebies anymore, since most aren’t worth the storage space. I have bought some very nice designs from non-Silhouette sources, though, so I keep them on my computer hard drive and sort them into folders based on the company that offered them for sale. I can import them into my Silhouette library, but the Silhouette Cloud has very limited storage for non-Silhouette files. You can always use an external hard drive, though, or a thumb drive. Also, if you have a problem with an update, those files can be lost.
The files that I buy from Silhouette automatically store on the Cloud, but the files show up in my Recent Downloads folder. I move them to other folders that I have set up, so I can find what I want as fast as possible. I have a very large number of files, but because they are well organized, I can find what I want easily.

sunny1016, I always do a direct download and then move them to an external. Though I still have about 700+ to get out of the library still. I'm not sure how many times you can download before they cut you off. I know other stores will say you have x amount of times. I'm thinking 3-5?

I don't keep them for Sil Store files, but I do keep them for all other places plus digi-scrap purchases, font downloads, actions, brushes, etc.
I've changed computers several times and I've had to reload stuff and it's so much easier when you have the files ready to go. I keep the zips on a EHD.
