PL is just too much for me. Is there a separate thread for memory planners? I am going to try HS’s Stop the Blur system.
I’d you use it, what have you found to be most useful to stay on top of it? What does your work station look like? What products do you keep front and center?
Thanks!

It looks like tomorrow Heidi is doing an instagram live all about Stop the Blur. I'll be watching! I'm so tired of project life. I need a new way of memory keeping that is fresh and fun again.

I did a memory planner in 2021 and I loved it. I hadn’t scrapbooked in like 12 years and it was just the right amount for me to get started with some form of memory keeping combined with creatively again. I did end up falling in love with documenting and scrapping again and did all of 2022 as PL instead and continuing with PL for 2023 but I could see going back to a memory planner/stop the blur sometime in the future.

It just mainly refers to pocket scrapping. My "project life" album is my family album. There's a mixture of peas who use 12x12, 6x8, and other sizes. Most don't do weekly. Anyway, you might get some ideas for your memory planner there.

I think there was a an in-general heidi swapp thread with a lot of blur talk. Stop the blur or 6x8 journal scrapping has worked the best for me as far as documenting everyday type things. I started in 2020 and took HS classes & digital kit which was helpful. I only did like 5 months of class. Then I did the physical kit for a couple months. I didn't need that much stuff and sort of had my own way of doing it, so I never stick with kits/classes too long. HS has tons of content and inspiration on her Instagram videos too. She's one of the few who actually keeps reinventing things, imo. Somewhere she has a free printable for the week where you can keep track of events, stories, photos. I used to do that, but now just use my DayOne app mostly. I also keep the products for it in a few zipper pouches and just get it all out when I'm working on it. But I use regular stuff that I use for other scrapping too. I like a lot of the date/month stamps, some from Elle Studio, and I like the prompt stamps from Everyday Explorer too. I usually pick 2-3 ink colors for each spread and try to keep it tied in a bit with color. I had a lot of time in 2020-21 due to covid, but less now. I still do it, although not necessarily every week. The book I am just finishing up is actually one of those 3 month spreads then weekly spreads which starts with October 2021 and goes thru fall of 2022. It only works for me because I make it what I want and do not follow HS formula to a T. I don't document every single week, sometimes I group months or a season together, I also add in special little projects like from Ali's Pieces of Me/Home, or Day in the Life. But I love the smaller format. I was gifted a Pipsticks subscription, which I love to fill in gaps with the stickers. It's a fun project! I have some flip thru videos of my spreads on Instagram. board links: 2peasrefugees.boards.net/thread/116877/all-heidi-swapp2peasrefugees.boards.net/thread/116264/heidi-swapps-stop-blurI would suggest just starting and not trying to plan it out too much or wait for the perfect products. I try to look at it more as something just for me, so it's almost like a journal, doesn't need to look a certain way. You will probably develop your own formula for your style. If you search the #stoptheblur or #heidiswappstoptheblur on Instagram you will see a lot of inspiration.

Getting feedback on HS classes vs. physical kits is extremely helpful. I have been debating the STB classes to get a good grasp on how to use the booklets well.

I love Heidi's pages in her books but can't stand to follow along with her classes. I did three months of Stop the Blur before I realized I didn't like her way of teaching. I DO like her style of memory-keeping, though, and did the 100-page challenge here one year by doing 100 days in a memory book, a la Stop the Blur style. That book is one of my most cherished possessions! I actually did 2, one of the first 100 days of 2021, and another one of the end of 2021. I keep the two books in a Webster's Pages composition size notebook. They are a record of what happened every day - the little and the big stuff. I wish I had started this when my kids were little! As you can see, my "style" is not as good as Heidi's, but I'm happy with it. Her pages are beautiful, but I'm not that good at stamping or building out pages. My object was to get the day in the book, any way I could LOL. I'd like to get back into it, I have a new notebook, just need some motivation to get started! pridemom If you'd like to start a thread for motivation I'll play along. We could list new techniques and other ways to make our pages. I believe these pages would also count for the teams, if you want to join a team and count points.

She does one week at a time. How does she get those tiny photos? I think she makes a collage on a 4x6 print and cuts them apart. She does take a looong time to do the spreads. She says as much in a couple of them. She’s new to it, just started in ‘22, and still figuring it all out. I had wanted to start this in ‘21 and picked up a pack of inserts, but life was too hectic to begin a new project. I had been thinking of doing it soon as a journal type thing just for me, not family stuff, just my own. But once I saw Suzanne’s videos I realized I don’t think I’d be able to add it in successfully. Maybe when I have fewer kids at home to keep up with. 🥴

You're style is great. I love how you have little collages, almost like mini layouts. I sometimes try that, but if I was doing the week, then I kinda stuck to the divided sections. I agree, HS style is a little "fussy" sometimes. The most creative I get is to add little flaps if I want to cover something or add more photos/journaling. Sometimes I will ad an mini envelope or pocket where I can put something else in. I try not to make it too chunky/3D since the journal pages are not super sturdy. I have a few on my phone I will try to upload. I can share some more, I've def done some different (weird!) things this past year since I wasn't scrapping it as consistently as before. I use PicStitch to put multiple photos onto a 4x6. I also use LetterGlow a lot for mini typed journaling or odd shape photos. The only reason I can do this successfully is by using my phone apps and printing at home, since it keeps it current and accessible.

Oh my, scrapcat , those are spectacular! You follow the Heidi STB method very closely. Each day is one line? Those look soooo good! So colorful! I like the mix of photos, stickers and your handwriting. I like the stamping too! So much fun on each page! I did mine with one day on each page, or three days on two pages. When I document this way, I seem to just vomit words and fill the pages up, unlike my 12x12 layouts. I think it'll be fun to read what life was like during the pandemic years from now. When I did the first book at the beginning of the pandemic, and I used a TN instead of the larger book I used in the photos above. I found the TN to be too small for what I really wanted to document, but I kept it up for a few months. I believe there is no "right or wrong" way to do this type of memory-keeping. You can do as little or as much as you want - it's all good. Now I just need to GET STARTED. Will someone give me a push?!
