I had a plastic countertop one (don't remember the brand) and I never used it. I bought the cuisinart air fryer /oven combo thing and I love it. We use it almost every day.

Almost bought a gourmia a few weeks ago but funds were low.. And is it needed to have divided basket or not? I bought the Gourmia at Costco for my anniversary gift. I know you married ladies are so jealous of my romantic gift. As long as I ask for household items as gifts I am not upset when I get them and I am getting the ones I want. Anyway, I had a Black and Decker for several years but the latch holding the basket in place would release when it was hot. I finally got tired of it hitting the counter when I would shake it halfway. So I got the Gourmia to replace it. It is not something I use every day but it gets used. There are just 2 of us at home. You want to make 2-3 frozen biscuits? Cool, no need to heat up the oven - I use my AF. Baked potatoes are unbelievable in there. Wash the skins, prick a couple of times and spread a bit of olive oil all over. Sprinkle with kosher salt and bake in AF. Divine! On occasion I make a quick meal for me with TJ Mandarin Orange Chicken. I'll pour half of the bag in there and just wing the cooking time. So wonderfully crispy.

I have the Emeril Lagasse air fryer/toaster oven. I LOVE it! We use it several times a week, and it doesn't take up much more room on my counter than my old 4-slice toaster did.
I use it to air fry snacks, roast veggies, make toast, toast bagels (best toasted bagels I have ever made at home!), and even for baking. There is a dehydrator setting, but I don't really see any need for that for our family. There is also a rotisserie. Since Sam's rotisserie chicken is so cheap, I doubt I'll ever use it to cook a chicken, but maybe something else?
ETA: I had a basket-style air fryer first, and we loved the food it put out, but the oven/air fryer combo is so much more useful.

gracieplusthree , I'm sorry I was bitchy on your thread. That was unkind of me and certainly unnecessary. Thank you to everyone that posted all of the ideas, I've settled down and will make sure I get it out and give it a try. Thanks for grounding me you guys. malibou... this is the first appliance that was a game changer since the microwave. I hated the Instapot and got rid of it. But the air fryer... it is SO easy and can do so many things. I even got rid of the toaster oven. I haven't even used it to all it is capable of.. Mostly just reheating leftovers and frozen foods. Salmon is SO awesome in it if you like it. I hope you try it and love it.
