I have a box with 20-30 8x10 size photos that were taken at photo studios. They used to be in frames but have since been rotated out so now they just sit in a box. I do not have the wall space to put them back in frames and hang them.
Do you include these in your scrapbooks? Do you have a special book just for "formal" type photos? These are mostly pics of son at various ages (3mo, 6mo, 9mo, 1yr, etc) and for various holidays. What do I do with these?? Any suggestions?
ETA - these are not school photos. Those I have in his school albums.

yes - but only minimally. I have an 8.5x11 album and I mat the formal photos and add a matted journalling spot with name, date, and occasion if applicable. I just have them chronologically in there.

Yes, I put them in my project life and my kids baby books. When I rotate them in frames I just keep the old photo in the frame like a time capsule. My parents always did that lol.

I have scrapped alot of them. I scrap 12x12 so lots of real estate. When I rotate them in frames I just keep the old photo in the frame like a time capsule. My parents always did that lol. Ha ha! My kids' school photos were framed like that K in the back and grade 12 in the front.

I am currently enjoying the mammoth task of scanning my pre-digital photos. I just scanned my daughter's professional baby photos from 1998 (you know the ones, where they prop the baby up in a bucket and stick a shower cap on their head and hand them a rubber duckie hahaha!). I plan to scrap them, but as I am a digital scrapper, I will scan them first and probably reduce them to about 6x8.

I do scrap formal photos. I used to keep a formal photos book. I also put those in school albums, for example or whatever theme they fit.

I would say only school photos or the ones I take that I enlarge. Other than the first year of baby photos at certain months, I guess we aren't professional photo people.

I don't have these kinds of photos of scrapbooks but I love the look of big photos. When I'm making photo books I love to have big full bleed photo pages interspersed with more scrappy pages or pages with more pictures or words, so I imagine I would mix them in with layouts rather than having a special album just for portraits. I wouldn't do much to them, just add a nice background paper/cardstock and maybe a small journal/embellishment spot with the year/age/occasion.
But if that was a nuisance to do or if the photos seemed out of place mixed in I would create a simple album just for the portraits. You might find something like a portfolio designed for photographers that would hold 8x10s.

Sometimes I scrap them, but often I just place them in an 8.5 x 11 sleeve with a piece of white cardstock behind them and add to the appropriate scrapbook.

Thank you for all of these resources! I do use the SG sketches so I think I am going to go ahead & get those sketches you linked as well. The example layouts are awesome too! I think I am going to take all of these to my upcoming retreat and see what I can do with them.

I used to, but haven't actually done any for at least a decade. I started with some huge CM albums so I could fit the 11x14ish pictures we'd get from Portrait Innovations when my boys were little. It started with those types of portraits, then school photos, then I started adding team photos from sports. I kept up thru some time when my oldest was in elementary, but haven't since then although the photos are in a pile ready to be done. My oldest is now a senior and I'm thankful I actually know where his school photos are all at!
