I have always loved sunsets. Have a million pictures of them and always try to stop and appreciate them. I work 2nd shift and have always worked from places that had great western views over looking the lake and got to see a ton of gorgeous sunsets. I now work mostly from home and my condo’s western view is obscured by trees. However my bedroom has a great open view to the east and I can enjoy sunrises pretty much from my bed. 👍😄
Sorry hit enter by mistake. So I seem to have become more of a sunrise person. Do you have a love of either or a preference?

Here is a sunrise from the other morning…and the picture was taken through my dirty window with screens, I wish I could have got my butt outside to take a really good picture. 😄

I'm definitely more of a sunrise lover! Although I've taken plenty of pictures of both, I really gravitate towards seeing the sunrise vs. sunset. I especially love seeing sunrise over water or through trees. Our back bedroom and bathroom windows look east out over a wooded area and I love watching the sunrise through there. I have lots of pictures of sunrises over the beach (usually OBX, but a few others too), but hardly any pix of sunsets over the beach.

I’ve always been a sunset person, mainly because I like to sleep late! But since we’ve moved to our place on the lake we have a beautiful sunrise view every morning so now I love both. I snapped this as I was leaving for work this morning Attachments:

katiescarlett that is a beautiful picture. Thanks for sharing. I am usually awake early but not out of bed, so if I couldn’t see sunrises from there I would probably miss them. 😄

I see more sunsets especially since I live on west coast - but I also really love the morning light.

Being a night owl I don’t see a lot of sunrises. 😆 Plus, the way our house is situated, with a hill behind us, we don’t really see the sun rise. We do see the sun set though. Love when the sky turns red. But, I like both. I just don’t see as many sunrises.

ne of my favorite sunrise photos. But not me on the board! Being an east coast girl, I have to say sunrises.

Sunrise definitely! We go to the beach every summer and get a house on the beach, and since we're on the East coast we can watch the sunrise every morning from the deck. This is what I think of when someone says "sunrise". That said, I love a good sunset also. In fact here in the DC area was had a spectacular one this evening. Anyone else from this area who saw it?

I love watching them both. I get a perfect view of the sunrise from my kitchen window, and I often stand at the window watching it while my coffee brews or go out on the deck and just sit and watch.
The sunset I have a perfect view of from my front porch, and again, I often sit out there just to watch it if it is especially pretty. I feel like it causes me to slow down for a bit and not do or think about anything but how spectacular it is.

compeateropeator Curious what kind of weather you had following that amazing, red sunrise, as I recall the poem: Red sky at night, sailors' delight / Red sky at morning, sailors, take warning.

To answer the original question, I prefer sunsets. If I'm seeing a sunrise, it means I had a bad pain night and was unable to sleep. Doesn't bode well for the quality of my day.

We don't have good sunsets here. It just goes over the mountain quickly, but if I am going to "enjoy" it, it will be a sunset. I feel like sunrises just blast my face on the way to work.

I’m a sunrise lover wannabe with a sunset lover programmed sleep pattern. I hate getting up early!

I can’t remember but I know that I was thinking that exact saying when I saw it. I even said “I hope the red sky in the morning sailors take warning doesn’t hold true” when I shared my picture with some friends. I will have to go back and look. I will update in a bit

Most days the trees or neighbor's homes block our view of both sunrise and sunsets.

I love a good sunset. I am not a morning person so I don’t see a lot of sunrises. It’s nothing for me to pull over and watch the sunset.

I enjoy both. A good sunrise with a cup of coffee or a beautiful sunset with a glass of wine.

I always love both. But depends on the time of year, right now I can enjoy both. Sunrise 9:15 am sunset 4:45 pm. Come summer I can't see both a 4 am sunrise and an 11:30 pm sunset, need more sleep than that.
My dream is to have a home with a wide open view to enjoy either the sunrise or set.

Going to the beach here is all about sunrise. I also have better views of sunrises from inside my house than sunsets.

My love for sunrises started back in my party days. There was nothing like going into a club when it was pitch black then coming out to the birds singing and the sun on the horizon.
Now it's a reminder that even NYC has quiet moments. Living here can be a grind, and there are lots of days I get home questioning my life decision to live here. But then I wake up in the morning and I'm either walking to the subway or standing at the bus stop and I think to myself it can't be that bad, look at the sun coming up.
