over the old ones! So I rode with my brother on an errand this afternoon and lo and behold the store he needed to go into was right next to Tuesday Morning. While he went in to try and find his tie (long story, he's in a wedding, but they get to choose their own ties) I went into TM. I remembered I had seen some Picket Fence stamps there the last time I went and I wanted to see if they were still there and perhaps had hit clearance, lol. Not only had they NOT hit clearance, they were MORE expensive than they had been a few weeks ago. A new, larger price tag was slapped over the top and it was 1.00 more than previously priced. I took the stamp up to the register, and asked the cashier why this was more than a couple weeks ago, and she said that all craft items were repriced a dollar to 5 dollars (!!!) more than they had been last week. Then she peeled up the sticker to show me the one underneath. Now, I totally get that she is not in charge of any of this, so was very nice to her. But I told her that if there was any way to pass my dissatisfaction up the chain, she was welcome to do that. Not only do I think the price hike was crummy, to go back and retroactively reprice current merchandise with new stickers, whilst the old, cheaper price is still underneath just rubs me 100% the wrong way. Grrrrrr... Needless to say, no stamp for me. Which is good anyway because I am supposed to be frozen, lol. Edited to add, this is Roseville, MN location.

Ours has a big sign out front that it is closing. The price increase must be a last ditch effort to make some money.

I guess it’s to be expected. The price of just about everything is jumping. I guess I’d have to compare TM prices to regular retail and see if it’s still worth it to me. From what I’ve noticed from online stores like sb .com and acot, paper has gone up another 10 cents per sheet and embellishment packs have gone up $1. We’re paying more for everything everywhere.

They did the same at my store. And what's even crazier is that Christmas decor is still 25% off. What are they waiting for?

Ours is closing. Guess I won’t feel jealous of people’s hauls when I know it comes with an overpriced receipt.

I was so excited to see crafty stuff, I didn't notice the new price stickers when I shopped last week. Since I haven't put away my goodies yet, I just checked and yep, new stickers over the old. On some, they even used a Sharpie to mark out the price before putting the sticker on (but I could still see the old price). The new prices were 30 cents to 50 cents more, not a dollar more, thank goodness. How much labor was wasted to resticker a whole section? Everything I bought was just an okay deal, but was stuff I'd thought I would use right away (ha!) and still cheaper than buying online and paying shipping.
Christmas decor was also only 25% off, but Christmas food was 50% off.
I won't be rushing back to shop at Tuesday Morning.

If it didn’t sell at the less expensive price, what makes them think it will sell for a higher price?
I’ve gone in a couple of times since they started carrying scrapbook stuff again, but I didn’t buy anything. I have so much, and nothing they had in stock really appealed to me.

If it didn’t sell at the less expensive price, what makes them think it will sell for a higher price? Suckers like me. Though I will say that two of the items I bought were the Totally Tiffany pen holder thingies and they are often sold out online.

The last time I went, the Thickers went up 10% (30 cents). Since they are still better priced than JoAnn's or online, I got the ones I liked.

They did the same at my store. And what's even crazier is that Christmas decor is still 25% off. What are they waiting for? The one store that does the Christmas sale right is Hobby Lobby (if you have one and if you shop there). They definitely increased prices this Christmas season from last year, but they kept everything at 60% off the entire season. So yes, you might have a higher price, but the sale looks better than the 40% or 50% the other stores are having. Then they also went to 70% right after Christmas and 90% a few days ago. The stuff was being wheeled out in carts. I bought stuff for a new mantle for next year and spent about $10 to do the whole mantle.

All Tuesday mornings even remotely near me have closed. So if I’m going to shop it is only when I travel. ( and I def used to ) but at some point it became not worth my time.
The stores remain anywhere near where I travel were all unorganized & over stuffed. The discounts were not enough to spend the time shoveling thru whatever piles they had of stuff.
The neatest most organized TM I had ever been in was in Albany and it closed. The craft aisles were so neat and organized and it looked like a craft store. I was sad it closed, even if I could only get the once every few years. The messiest was out west of Philly where it literally looked like employees opened boxes & dumped them whole on shelves, was still open last I checked. I haven’t really checked lately because I don’t have time to sort thru piles of stuff & still pay close to retail. Especially after driving 15-20 mins out of my way to get there.
I’m guessing it’s even less worth my time at this point.
I still drive out if my way if I hear of an in person scrap store 😃

Right after Christmas a TM worker told me prices were going up 25% across the board. She checked the prices on my crafty items and was going to give me the lower price, if they would've rang up higher. I had just gone through the craft section when the manager started pulling stuff for repricing. It's crazy.

that was smarmy of TM to do. it's bad enough the selections aren't as good as they used to be but now they have to charge more for the stuff they barely have.

Yes I noticed this. Paper packs are now 7.59 for me (Echo Park). I picked up the Witches and Wizards and the rest was left behind. If you get a good sale or clearance online, prices are pretty much the same.
