Please share where, in what, & how you store & organize various stencil sizes, patterns, & manufacturers. TIA.

I only have a handful so they're just in the drawer with my inks - no real organisation to them

I have maybe a dozen or so, and I keep them in basic sheet protectors in a binder. They're all different sizes and being so delicate and prone to snagging I wanted to keep them separated and easy to leaf through and I had a binder and space to stand it on my craft cart. I might add cheap colored cardstock behind them like in this Ardyth video youtu.be/TziAWrcaoPA?t=119

I keep mine in a 3 ring 6x8 binder. No organization. I have about 20.

I keep mine in a 3 ring 6x8 binder. No organization. I have about 20. This is also what I do. I have one that is stencils w/ coordinating stamps/dies and another that is just stand alone stencils. I don't have any stencils larger than 6x8 so this method works well for me. ETA: of course after I posted the above I read pinklady 's response that reminded me I DO have a stencil set larger than 6x8. Just the one, so it can live next to the 6x8 binders for now!

I have so many different sizes and just store them in "bad" brand page protectors.

I have 8 stencils of various sizes and they are stacked on top of each other in their OG packaging in a pull out drawer that also houses my shimmer paints and daubers to apply the paint.

I don't have any organisation to mine, I just have them all in their original packaging tossed in the back of a drawer. I do use them, but I just pull out the whole pile and rifle through them until I find what I want.

The ones I use the most are tucked in behind my inks in a shoebox sized plastic bin. I struggle with getting them back into packaging, so they are either "free" or clipped together with a jump ring. Sets I am not using are in ziplock bags roughly by theme. Unless the brand is on the stencil I don't know the manufacturer after I have used it for the first time unless they have a distinctive design like VB or tH.

I don't have many, but tape the edges, punch a hole in the corner and hang them from a ring on my Raskog cart.

Mine are mostly 6x6 or similar smaller size. I have a plastic box with dividers that is designed for organizing greeting cards. I keep them all in there- no order. I have a lot of stencils. At the moment I keep my inks in that box too but my stencils are starting to get crowded so I'll need to move the inks to another box.

I've never counted them but I would estimate I have about 50, mostly 6x6. All the smaller stencils and a few other things I used with the gelli plate are in the top drawer of a chest of drawers in my studio. I put dividers in the drawer to help sort them some. I have about a half dozen 12x12 stencils and those hang on the inside of the closet drawer in the studio.

I have a decent amount of stencils ranging from the TH mini tag size to 12x12. I used to have them in a binder, but I didn’t like how much space it took to store them and the page protectors were too fussy for me. Now I keep them in an Iris case that I store beside my desk, standing up on its hinges. I simply pull it onto my lap still standing up, hinges down , and open it with the lid toward me. Then I can easily flip through them. I keep them together by size. Tags in a linen storage bag, 6x6 together in a larger linen bag, then 8.5x11, and finally 12x12 in the back. Easy to see, flip through and pull, then put back. And, I can fit many more options visible and stored in the same amount of space of my original binder.

Mine are in plastic storage sleeves/envelopes in a bin, filled behind embossing folders and in front of oversized stamp sets.
I’ve noticed some say to store them flat, I’m assuming to avoid warping, so I wonder if what I’m doing is ok.

Mine are in an old post bound album someone was destashing. Prior to that I had them in a 12x12 box, but this is more compact for the number of stencils I have.

I keep mine in a 3 ring 6x8 binder. No organization. I have about 20. I also keep mine in a 6x8 binder. My larger stencils (Taylored Expressions Create in Quads and a couple of others) are in an old 11"x8.5" SEI album (it's a landscape album I never used). I like that it is only about a half inch taller than my 6x8 binder so they sit next to each other on top of my Kallax. I don't have any sort of category organization. Using colored cardstock behind them is a good idea as it is hard to see them with white cardstock.

I don't have very many stencils or embossing folders, so I have them both together in a little mini plastic milk crate. Then I just flip through and grab what I want. I'm getting just enough now though, that it's a little crowded so I might separate the stencils and folders. If I do, I will probably keep it the same, just with 2 crates/baskets.

Thanks for your responses. Years ago I stored my first stencils (6x6) in orginal packaging in a drawer, then I bought a couple 12x12 Heidi Swapp stencils on clearance at Michaels & switched to standard & divided (ie four 6x6 slots per page) 12x12 protectors with one stencil slipped in front of black cardstock per slot in an binder. While I found the binder with only a handful of pages cumbersome, I appreciated its relatively small storage footprint & that all stencils were in one place.
Once my collection grew & included 6x8 stencils, & the four 6x6 divided page protectors were no longer available, I resorted back to original packaging. All 6x6 & 6x8 stencils are currently in a 6x6 paper holder that sits on a shelf next to a 12x12 paper holder containing my few 12x12 stencils, so all 30+ stencils are stored in close proximity & divided by brand/manufacturer (e.g. Simple Stories, Echo Park/Carta Bella, Hero Arts, The Crafter's Workshop).

Mine are in a 12x12 iris container. I keep them in the original pkg (ya, I'm that person) so they don't get tangled. It makes them easy to transport when I go to a crop.

I have mine in a binder, but I have 12x12 ones I think in an iris cart container.

For years, mine were just stuffed into a gallon zip-lock bag. Most of them are 6x6 and I've just moved them into Taylored Expression's binders and am happy so far. I started with one binder that holds 40 sleeves and ran out of space, so bought a second. They are loosely categorized (geometric, plants, hearts, etc.) and the brand/name are written on a piece of cardstock that backs the stencil and makes it easier to see the pattern. I have a 1/2" 9x12 binder for longer stencils like Tim Holtz.
