Yes, I’m following. I expected this at some point from Bolsinaro supporters. They appear as duped as Trump supporters here. And it does feel terribly familiar

I’ve seen a little bit on social media. What I’m confused about is that in the comments people who are seemingly from Brazil are saying the protests aren’t about Bolsonaro, they are about corruption and dictatorship. But isn’t Bolsonaro the corrupt dictator?

I watched a clip of them on YouTube storming one of the buildings. I couldn’t understand the language, but I distinctly heard the word “swamp” at the end of some shouting. I even rewatched to confirm what I heard. Might be coincidence, but my guess is that they’re taking their cue from the MAGA playbook.

But isn’t Bolsonaro the corrupt dictator? Well they claim Bolsonaro won the elections and the vote was rigged. Sound familiar?

It's like deja vu.

At least they are immediately arresting people. Seeing 400 arrested according to ABC news. I don’t know how many were initially arrested here vs found later.
Interesting that he is thought to be in Florida while this is happening in Brazil.
Not sure if it’s documented but seeing tweets that Bannon visited in November as a consultant maybe? So maybe there is even more reasons for this. Seriously if true a US citizen consulting with a foreign official to overthrow an election there? Maybe to say this is where we went wrong and plans to see if they can do better this time? There are photos of Trump and Bolsonaro together so there has to have been sone discussions. 🤦♀️ at the moment.
I just can’t believe the world we are living in. Two years later it’s still surreal.

It really is deja vu all over again. So frustrating to see people like Steve Bannon and Ali Alexander egging them on. So happy to see hundreds marched out with ziptied arms onto waiting buses for processing by LEO. Wonder if this guy realizes the J6 QAnon Shaman is serving a 41 month sentence?

Seeing what Lula is saying about this he is going after those that are responsible. Possible paper trail to Orlando? It sounds like they are actually taking it seriously.

It’s very familiar, isn’t it.
While watching the footage, I just kept flashing back to the recent photo of Bolsonaro eating KFC in Orlando.

Very similar to January 6th - not surprising though given the rhetoric that Bolsanaro and company have been spewing. He’s smarter than Trump but otherwise very similar. Brazil has had issues with corruption- Lula even went to prison after his second term as President - but the federal judge who overstay his case became Bolsanaro’s Minister of Justice, and the Supreme Court overturned the convictions. While there was definite public corruption it’s impossible to tell how much Lula was actually involved and how much of it was Bolsanaro trying to get rid of a very popular opposition. Lula was successful at lowering the country’s poverty rate and focused on the poorer populations which made him fairly unpopular with the traditionally wealthy and connected.

I guess it’s somewhat comforting that stupid people are everywhere, and not just in the US.

We're hopefully getting a rescue puppy Friday and my kids suggested Tucker as a name and I was like, heck no. The international fascist love is really awful.

I just keep thinking of Cambridge Analytica and the Mercers, etc. - and how unnerving it was to learn about all of that. There are many we’ve never even heard of who are obscenely wealthy and are pulling strings on the world stage - it’s certainly not limited to the US, as we can see.
A lot of wealthy, powerful, evil people have made it their life’s work to fund the weaponization of information, technology, social media, etc. They also spend a ton of money and resources in efforts to keep it quiet and fly under the radar so that the public is none the wiser.
We are living in a very scary time. I’ve watched it escalate considerably - and very rapidly - over the last 6 years. I believe that’s why we see so many politicians becoming increasingly bold and brazen about their crooked ways. Many don’t even attempt to hide criminal activity anymore. Time and time again, we fail to see anyone held accountable for despicable, ILLEGAL acts - so they’ll continue to be emboldened. Their assaults on the rule of law are only going to continue to escalate. That’s just one facet of their grand plan, too - but it’s the most dangerous.
I wish more of us would take a step back from the political rivalry the billionaires want us to remain occupied with (and distracted by) and take a look at the bigger picture. I think we would ALL like to be able to say we live in a civilized society - but that has been taken for granted for too long now, and it’s damn sure not guaranteed.
