Please share where, in what, & how you store & organize various brands, sizes, patterns, etc. of embossing folders. TIA.

No help since I only have 1. I keep it with my stencils.

I only have a few, and they are just tossed in a random drawer, currently.
I am in the middle of a deep clean of my scrap room, and these are actually on my list of things to reorganize and move so that I actually use them. I forget I even own them, honestly. I will be keeping an eye on this thread for ideas.

Mine are in a bin, behind dies and in front of stencils. Just hanging out in there -- they don't seem to need protection from a sleeve or envelope since the "business" surface is on the inside and the outside surface is sturdy enough to withstand a die cutting machine.

I don't have very many stencils or embossing folders, so I have them both together in a little mini plastic milk crate. Then I just flip through and grab what I want. I'm getting just enough now though, that it's a little crowded so I might separate the stencils and folders. If I do, I will probably keep it the same, just with 2 crates/baskets.

I don't have that many, but they're all standing up in a shoe-box with my not favourite stamp sets and embossing plates. They used to live in a drawer next to my crafting desk but the collection outgrew its allotted space and had to relocate.

I don't have very many, perhaps half a dozen, so they are stored loose in one of the drawers on my scrapping desk.

I think the storage will depend on how many you have.

Mine are stored in a tall idesign kitchen bin. At back to school time, I bought a bunch of plastic folders to cut up for the dividers. I don't store them by mfgr but rather by type. IE, shapes, sentiment strips, birthday, floral, Christmas, etc.

I have about a dozen and I labeled the outside of the folder and just tuck them behind my stamp envelopes.

I have a small plastic box that's just big enough for the handful I own. It stands behind my stamps and dies. I have a couple more that I keep in my box of Christmas supplies.
If I had more I would just stand them up with my stamps and dies in their own section. I don't think I'd bother to really organize them until I had at least a couple of dozen, maybe even more. Flipping through them gives me ideas I wouldn't have thought of otherwise (assuming I think to look for an embossing folder at all!)

I don't own many. The small sizzlit brand is stored with the same sized sizzlit dies. The two bigger ones are stored in a mini CD crate with some of my nesting metal dies.

They have similar sized ones at Dollar Tree. Definitely NOT as sturdy as the description on Bed Bath and Beyond's website. For light weight items like embossing folders, I think it would be fine. I know I have one in my son's closet to hold socks. Now I need to go and measure!

I know I have one in my son's closet to hold socks. Now I need to go and measure! I have the larger ones from Dollar Tree (same height but wider and longer), and they are pretty darn flimsy. I did end up taking a wire paper holder and shoving it to the bottom the box to hold heaver things.

I use a fridge bin in my Kallax. I don't have them sorted in any order though. Just all standing up in the bin.

Thanks for your replies. I currently store embossing folders (mostly A2 & 5x6 folders, plus a 5x7 & the small label from the Sizzix/Tim Holtz Sidekick Starter Kit) in their original packaging in a clear fridge bin. As expected, the mostly clamshell packaging is bulky & occupies more room than the actual product. UGH.

Packaging isn't really all that useful when it comes to embossing folders, as they don't (generally) have multiple parts and are perfectly happy sitting in a bin without the need for packaging protection. All you really lose is the brand/design attribution, which can easily be remedied by taking a picture of it or saving a promotional image on your computer/phone.
Otherwise the packaging just gets in the way and is one extra step between you and your crafty task!

For a long time I stored embossing folders in my stamp & die storage which is organized by categories. Anything with hearts would be at the back of the Valentine/Wedding/Love stamps & dies section, etc.
A couple years I pulled them all and repurposed an extra IKEA Kuggis bin with The Stamp Market rainbow dividers and now store them based on brand. They were also added to my Evernote inventory when I did this so it is easy to find them when needed.

I have a lot and many are ones I didn't want to keep the cello packaging for. So the 4 1/2 x 6 1/4 inches are in a photo storage box and no longer in their original packaging. I also have a couple of smaller baskets that some are stored upright in (current Stampin Up and my most used + 6x6 sized) on a shelf.
At some point I wouldn't mind a clear bin that would fit them all up to the 6x6 size and I'd do dividers so I could categorize them and then slide into my Kallax. I rarely get into my older ones, so I'm not in any rush to do that, the photo box works nicely.

Like many of you, mine fit nicely in a generic plastic bin.

Thanks for your responses. For those who corral embossing folders in a bin ( gizzy , cmpeter , bc2ca , Neisey ) - Do you store each folder in a sleeve/pocket/envelope, original packaging, or nothing? If a sleeve/pocket/envelope, please share the size & source. TIA.

PaperAngel, I do not store embossing folders in any sleeve or packaging. They are rigid and sturdy, so really don't need protection and I rarely keep original packaging of anything. This is a photo of both my embossing folders and stencils in the Expedit. The ones in front have been recently used and not put back behind their brand divider. There are also a few pieces of embossed cardstock here that weren't used in a project and might make their way onto a future card. The stencil binders were put together very recently and still need to be labeled. I have way more stencils than embossing folders, so storing them by category made more sense for me. I just use sticky tabs at the front of each category.
