To supplement your stash, what would you choose? Could be a kit club, just sets of cards, whatever. Sort of a poll. Open ended though! 😉
Qualifiers: “Daily life/events” type stuff monthly pocket scrapbooking 3x4, 4x6 sizes for the most part Coordinating embellishments a plus but not a deal breaker
I currently get Elle’s studio and Paper Person. Im thinking of dropping and replacing PP - the cards and kits are so themed they don’t help me scrap monthly spreads. ES by itself is not enough for a month. I could of course use my stash (ha). I subscribed to SC forever and dropped it at the beginning of 2022. Just got too repetitive and so.many.flowers.
What else is out there? I would like to purchase some different options to see what might fit.

No idea but thanks for the thread! Hopefully other peas will have some ideas, as a Southern Hemisphere pea I find that Elles studio is too themed season wide for my scrapbooks (warn colours in winter, cool colours in summer etc etc) so I’ve never subscribed to them, plus there are a lot of holiday cards for events we don’t have (July 4th, Independence Day, pumpkin spice, Halloween etc)

I've bounced between SC DK kits and AE story kits. I realized this past year that AE story kits don't always work for a monthly PL so the SBTM kits could be a better fit, however I find there aren't enough cards. SC has plenty of cards though I'd like more 4x6 ones.

I sub to Elle's studio, mostly for the subscriber discounts and bundled shipping. I love their stamps for making more personalized journal cards. I also sub to Hip kit club's scrapbook kit, but added on their pocket life kit because it looks like they've made some changes to it. January's had a month stamp, which if they continue that throughout the year I will keep adding it on. They've also stopped cutting the cards and die cuts so you get 6x8 sheets to cut apart - I don't mind this, I think it will be easier to store flat and flip through to find what I'm looking for. Do any of the kits have enough 4x6 cards? I'm smiling at pumpkin spice being an event - it definitely is for some people

I know Cocoa Daisy has pocket cards in one or two of their subscriptions. Not sure it that's your style, but thought I would mention it. I know their subs sell out, so you'd probably have to get on the sub list for next month.

I am trying Freckled Fawn this year. I've done ES and HipKit in the past and I liked both. With Freckled Fawn, I get the pocket kit and the 6x8 paper kit. I haven't dug in yet, but I figure the 6x8 I can use to create my own 4x6 cards.

Besides what’s already been mentioned, there are always 12x12 papers meant to be cut down into pocket cards.
When I’m working on an old past PL album I use a set of these papers (like the Simple Stories yearly themed one) as a base, then pull in stash to fill in the rest. It keeps a little continuity throughout the year, without being TOO repetitive overall. Each 12x12 page only has a handful of cards, so it’s a decent balance of repetition without drowning in sameness.
I’ll also give a shout-out to that scrapbooking basics card set Ali released right as she quit PL. lol. The one that came in the star box. Lots of good basics in there.

I have been recently using the lily pad memory pockets monthly kit. It’s digital it’s been really fun. It is seasonally themed but doesn’t feel I really overkill to me.

I totally agree with the suggestion to use 12"x12" papers that have the pocket cards on one side and whatever patterned paper design on the other. Simple Stories makes bunches of these that are amazing. If there are any cards on the sheet that you aren't going to use, you can run the scraps through your die cutter and make embellishments out of the patterned side. I especially LOVED the ones from the "Good Stuff" collection -- so many gems in those papers. I use Vicki Boutin's journaling card / 12"x12" patterned papers often, too. I hadn't seen the AE set in the star box. Thanks for bringing it to my attention. Any idea if it's still available? One more suggestion: Altenew makes a stamp set and coordinating die that are perfect for journaling. I got the stamp but not the die; I want to get the die, too, but since I didn't get it, I usually just fussy cut the stamped image. It isn't a difficult shape to cut. altenew.com/products/journal-card-builder-stamp-setI love this so much and use it often.

I have plenty of BH's PL cards right now, but I like the Simple Stories Life Captured line.

I quite like Hip Kit’s pocket life kits. They do come with embellishments which I quite enjoy too. I like that they match their main kit and also have some additional coordinating kits you can purchase to coordinate.

Gah! Forget all the below. Stories By The Year by Ali is available in physical and digital. Finally found it. Her website sucks, I had to know the name to find it. My Google-fu is lousy. aliedwards.com/shop?search=Stories+by+the+yearThank you for posting this. I wanted to make sure paget saw it too because she does weekly PL and is an AE fan.

Thank you for thinking of me! I forgot about those (no one ever mentions them) but I have seen these before and almost bought them once until I think I saw that the cards repeat- like maybe there is two each of them or maybe it was 4 each… and I didn’t want that - I would have bought a non repeating set, though! I think those could be a good option for someone not wanting a monthly sub or someone wanting more cards to supplement their stash!

I have put the stories by the year in my cart a few times but never pull the trigger. I agree it too repetitive and I can’t with all the weekly cards having her handwriting.

Thanks for all the suggestions! I'm definitely going to look at Hip Kit, Freckled Fawn and Cocoa Daisy. I kind of forgot about simple stories and other paper with the cards on the back.

I have put the stories by the year in my cart a few times but never pull the trigger. I agree it too repetitive and I can’t with all the weekly cards having her handwriting. Love Ali, her ideas and (many of) her supplies, but not so much her handwriting. I would buy a lot more of her stuff if her handwriting weren't so prominent on all of it. It would be one thing if she were writing in spectacular calligraphy rather than just everyday handwriting...but I'm not even sure I want my own everyday handwriting to feature so prominently on my pages, you know what I mean? So I am working on doing more of my journaling digitally, and I am also working on learning to do brush lettering so I can pretty up my handwriting in cases when I do just want to write and not type.

amysolovay I agree. In think everyone was gaga over her handwriting back in the early days and it created a monster. I don’t want someone else’s very specific handwriting so prominent in my memory keeping. Years from now descendants are going to look at scrapbooks and be amazed that everyone had the same writing! 😂

You just reminded me that Ali's popularity totally predates the recent brush lettering trend.

Her handwriting doesn’t bother me at all- I just think of it as any font and I like it. Although I do much prefer her casual cursive style to the skinny block lettering type. My own handwriting is all over my pages and obviously mine as it is in ink rather than a printed card.
