Leaving on a trip tomorrow and I’ve been living in stretchy athleisure the last month or so. Trying things on today before packing, and much of my “normal” clothing is a size or two too big.
Consignment/second hand stores are too much work (for my ADD brain to deal with) to find the right thing. Need to look pulled together sometimes, and not a fan of throwaway clothing. Still losing so things may only fit for 6 weeks-ish so I don’t necessarily want to shop at Nordstrom, etc.
Any ideas for me? And thank you!

Congratulations!
When I’m mid weight loss, I just go to my favorite stores and shop the clearance racks. Most of the time, those prices are less than the resale shops.

Thrift stores.
When I was going to a support group, there was a clothes closet that had free clothes. I got several clothes from it.

If there's one in your area, maybe try a higher end consignment shop. I've had great success asking employees for suggestions- the staff are usually very into fashion and know their inventory well.
Without assistance, those shops (and places like TJ Maxx) are overwhelming for me.

I like the idea of consignment stores but it always is too much of an effort and I’ve ended up with stuff I don’t really like.
I’d shop Athleta sale - clothes are stretchy so can fit various weights but fitted and look good.

I’m dealing with the same situation, and don’t have the patience to deal with thrift stores. Just this week I ordered a new sundress for Target for only $35 and was surprised at how nice it is. DD told me to look for things from the brands Universal Threads and A New Day at Target. She has also found some cute things from Amazon.

If you’re not a fan of fast fashion have you thought about a capsule wardrobe from the store you prefer? You can get pretty far with a few functional pieces especially if you change it up with jewelry and shoes.

I’ve had this issue for the last 6 months. My solution is to shop sales and only replace items when I absolutely must.

I just found out via a friend that there is a REALLY nice outlet mall 15 minutes away from the Airbnb. I haven’t been to one in probably 10 years because the ones out here stink. Perfect timing to go see what I can find. I hate the hunt and peck thing, so I don't know how long I’ll stay, but definitely worth checking out.

Maurices-sales. Also the thrift stores
I only buy a couple of things at a time and I wear them until they fall off
But I am fashioned challenged, so...

I am in the same boat. I have gone down about 3 sizes in pants. Costco and Sam's club. They have lots of nice jeans. tops and shirts, most for $20 or less. You can also find good deals on Amazon. Congratulations.

I shop as usual but may stick to the clearance racks if I don't think I'll wear it for too long. This is usually because when I go to the thrift shops, I had a hard time finding stuff in my size that wasn't extremely dated or totally not my style. So I just go straight to the store and buy new.

J Crew Outlet or Gap Outlet...I bet they have both in the outlet mall near your airbnb.

You're a step ahead of me - my ADHD brain didn't bother trying my clothes on before my recent vacation and, while I had managed to update my fall/winter pants, I stupidly thought (or more likely wasn't thinking at all) my summer/warm weather stuff would still fit. My shorts were bound and determined to spend my vacation getting chummy with my ankles.
I ended up leaving them all there.
To answer your question, though - Old Navy sales.

There is a website I’ve heard of called Threadup that sells used clothing at some really good prices. I haven’t used personally, but I’ve seen things people have purchased and everything looks nice.

My weight fluctuates 10 pounds up and down. I wear a lot of leggings, they can stretch to accommodate weight fluctuation and they are inexpensive.
Leggings can be dressed up(heels, boots, flats, longer tunic, fancier top, cardigan) or down(sneakers, flip-flops, casual sandal, tee shirt, denim jacket, etc..).

If you have favorites in your clothes that are a little too big find someone to tailor them. Less expensive than buying new…unless you are planning on gaining the weight back.😂

I’m in the same boat and seem to be doing what many have, buying from sales rack at my preferred stores. Can’t wait to get to my goal size and get a nice little capsule wardrobe going.

Seems every time I lose 5 or 10 lbs. I head straight for See's Candies. I know. At least it's cheaper than a new wardrobe.

I found a bunch of reasonably priced items at Kohls. I was going to suggest Kohls too. I needed smaller layering tops to wear under things (don’t like cleavage to show while teaching) and bought 5 for $50 last night at kohls.Com. I also buy a portion of my jeans there - I can get Lauren Conrad or Apt 9 jeans in talls and on sale, although jeans are a bit out of stock right now since they are preparing for Spring/Summer already. Lately, I’ve been buying and wearing Hue jean leggings. They are really stretchy, and almost like athleisure clothes.

I’m in the same boat. I’ve bought a few new things from my usual sources and just keep wearing them on repeat. The last thing I want to do now that I have lost weight is wear frumpy clothes. Hopefully, the clothes I’ve just purchased will be too big next winter (or maybe even next month) and I’ll happily donate them. I’ll buy a few more things until I get to the point where I am maintaining instead of losing.
