I might catch a lot of criticism here for this post but it is mostly just a vent. I've bene spending too much time on Tik Tok since I finally downloaded the app (maybe 6 months ago) and I always seem to be on the 'wrong' side of Tik Tok. Started off on Lesbian Tok, not into girls but I enjoyed seeing the stories of several gay couples. Then somehow ended up on Harry Tok. Wasn't a big fan of Harry Styles before I started Tik Toking but I feel like I have seen way more videos of him than I ever thought possible. Guess I'm a fan now. Wasn't surprised when the Taylor Swift tik Toks started showing up, I am a fan of Taylor too.
But now I've ended up on 'My Gen X parents F'd up my childhood Tok' and I need to get redirected somewhere else. Some of these posters and many of their followers were discussing how they have cut their parents out of their lives and I think I'm a bit sensitive to that subject right now because my niece has cut her mom and sister out of her life (which has trickled down to the rest of the family) and my sister was not the toxic one, it was my niece but its hard to watch my sister struggle with this after all she has done for her daughter.
Anyways, I have seen so many videos lately from Millennials complaining about their parents and the trauma they have created and I'm just like can't they see we didn't know what we were doing because our parents didn't 'parent' us and that we just wanted to do better than our parents, and that is essentially what they are saying but I feel like my generation did it in a respectful way and now Millennials are just throwing us all under the bus.
I guess I'm just on Millennail Tik Tok and I need to go find the Tired Old lady Tik Toks!
