I don't want to get into it but FML today. I tried to do something and it didn't turn out the way I had hoped at all. I picked a legitimate fight with someone who deserved it. I want to scream right now but no one will get why. I hope everyone one else had an amazing day.

No, today was my "Saturday" and I was a slug and did nothing!
But, I'm sorry you had a FML kind of day. I have those every once in awhile and completely understand!

Some days you're the dog, some days you're the hydrant. This is one of those hydrant days for me. I could just cry. PMS isn't helping either. It's a craptastic day. Sorry yours isn't good either.

Mine was yesterday. Since my boss died it's been crazy and busy and we are all ready to snap. I barely slept last night. Today things kinda "broke" and everyone took a step back. This three day weekend is sorely needed by us all. Hopefully next week we'll find a new admin. It's been a long fruitless search. Stressful.

Today was actually a better day for me, been fighting a case of vertigo since Sunday, but I'm on the mend. Hope tomorrow's holiday brings happiness and a day of relaxation to all the peas who had a bad one today.

Ok I went and took my frustration out at the gym. I killed that treadmill. I am kind of dizzy from it. But damn I was going to work off how frustrated I am today. Must put this in perspective...I have my health, I have my family, I have a home, I have 2 dogs, I have friends. Things could be a lot worse off than they are.

Elannah, I'm so sorry; that sucks. It's awful to try to do something nice and have it turn out *wrong* and painful and icky. I had a moment of that a few years ago, and it was *so* awful, I just wanted to bury my head in the sand. I think it's really nice that you can still find the silver lining enough to wish the rest of us an awesome day. I did have an awesome day. I took a day off from work so that this is a long weekend. After my son got out of class at 1:30 -- he's taking a summer class in college, and I'm still just beyond thrilled to say that my baby boy is going to college -- my DH, DS, and our dear corgi went to Townsend, Tennessee. We shopped at antique stores and didn't buy anything, but I found out my son's favorite Blue Ridge pattern is red Nocturne. We went to the Chocolate B'ar, which is kind of a coffee shop and kind of a candy shop, and definitely a great place to be. Our favorite server Danielle was there, looking like a million bucks and glowing with the good news that she has joined the Army Reserves and will leave for basic training in 9 weeks. She will earn money for college at that, and I honestly cannot be happier for anyone. She deserves so many good things. We went to my favorite crazy spot on the Little River. No one in their right mind should like the spot that I like; it's at a roadside picnic area that just sounds awful from the highway. But if you follow the little paths to the river, you can find such lovely spots to play in the cool water. We did play in the river. My darlin' corgi actually swam voluntarily! It was an Independence Weekend miracle! Tomorrow, dear son will go to work -- he's working at Famous Dave's, and his work ethic is just so ... I swear I could cry, he makes me so happy and proud. Barbecue is pretty popular on Independence Day, so he will probably work as long as he did on Father's Day. Oh, I forgot to say that we are down to one vehicle -- the 20-year-old truck has stopped starting. So we will have to take DS to work and then we will go visit our daughter at her new job -- McDonald's. See? Everything is a trade-off. One thing makes you happy; the next makes you despair. We will leave the fabulous corgi at home. She will be miffed, but we will take her to the fireworks in Sweetwater Friday night. She's fine with pyrotechnics as long as she is outdoors and can see that they are not actively attacking the house. Elannah, I really hope your tomorrow is *splendid*. Seriously. You deserve it. --Cricket

I'm with you! In fact, I've had two weeks worth of FML days! Hang in there and put one foot in front of the other (that's what I'm doing). It has to end sometime.

I woke up with a stomach bug early Wednesday morning and still have it. I have to miss the annual 4th of July parade and BBQ as well as a college graduation party for my youngest's best friend.
Hope life improves for you.

Elannah, sorry you had a rough day! Today started off great, was good until my sons baseball game. I sat in the stands fighting back tears. It's been a rough almost 4 years and it's going to get even worse before it gets better. I'm fine with that. I just need 17 more days before I can do what I need to do and what I should have done a long time ago.
On a positive note, DS came in and pitched 2 amazing innings! A few parents from the other team were very impressed with how he pitched. Proud mama here!

Tomorrow I am going to wake up and feel better I will pray. It will be better. Today sucked but there is lots of good things going on that tomorrow has all the hope in the world.
I hope the other peas who struggled today have a better tomorrow too. I will pray for each one of you that things do get better. I will remember my blessings and minimize my challenges. They are nothing compared what some have and they have great success working with less.

Yeah, I had a truly crappy and stressful day that went on forever and ever. At least it ended with good news.

Yes, E, it will be better tomorrow. Everything is better after sleep. I hope that you can sleep. I did not realize the acronym of FML (which i don't think I have at this time, but may happen in my future) so I wish you a good night. It's our independence day tomorrow.

My day started out so fabulous. My dog slept thru the night and was resting well after breakfast; DH got off to work in a good mood; I got some garden time; DD started home from college for the weekend.
Then it all went to hell.
DD is driving my van because her Saturn is involved in both of the GM recalls and we don't feel safe with her driving it back and forth to college as well as around the town 200 miles away from home. Because of the safety concern, GM rented me a car, but Dd can't drive it because she is only 19, so she gets the van.
On the way home, it seems the transmission in the van went out, and she and her boyfriend were stranded on the side of the interstate in the GA heat. AAA dispatched a tow truck, but the towing company declined the call and NO ONE bothered to call and tell her. They sat there, in 90*+ temps for an hour and a half before we found out that no one was coming. We called a local tow company that sent out a truck, but it took forever to reach her because it had so far to travel. Once we knew help was on the way, she went to wait in a restaurant.
So, now I'm looking at a $4k or more repair and no vehicle for her to drive to school. If the van can be fixed fast, I'll have to go stay with her and drive her until DH can bring the van. That means my dog will have to go to doggy daycare, which is not a good thing right now. We may have to take him to the vet's daycare and he hates going to the vet's office. If the van can't be repaired fast, I dont know exactly what I'll do. Finding a company that will rent a car for a 19 yo to drive is almost impossible and the rates are ungodly expensive when you do find one. Plus, a $4+k repair for an old van? I know it's not what I'd choose, but I can't afford another car now.

One thing that got my mind off whatever happened today was my Black Dagger Brotherhood book I have been saving. Let's just say Tohr is a hot vampire and I felt a lot better after reading about him...much better. Plus the treadmill helped a lot. Maybe I didn't need to do it quite that aggressively but it did help . Tomorrow will be better. I have hope for everyone who had a bad day today that tomorrow is blue sky and sunshine...not hot. Just enough to warm our souls
