That's kind of giving me palpitations just looking at it.

Eh, that looks fine to me! Just kidding, that does look daunting. I have to travel through roundabouts every day. Granted, none of them are quite that big! There is a double roundabout that I have to go through when I go to my dad's house, or the supermarket, or the train station. And there is one not far from my house, on the way to DD's house, that is known as "five ways" and it's a triple roundabout. That one can be confusing if you're not used to it, because you wouldn't know which lane you need to get in for each exit. Even Google Maps gets confused.

My first thought was "Oh hell no".
My second was "kids, Big Ben".

I haven't driven that one but have used smaller versions. It's quite logical...you just need to take each one as a separate thing.

I haven't driven around that one but I have driven the other one which is in Hemel Hempstead. Booked a motorway lesson after I passed my driving test to get some experience, you can't drive on the motorway here until you have your licence. My driving instructor had me drive up the M1 out of London, off the slip road, into Hemel Hempstead and around their magic roundabout. He didn't warn me what I was going to encounter until we were nearly on it.
I've only been to Hemel Hempstead once, funny that!

We have roundabouts in Kansas City. I go through them every day and don't think twice about it. But that one would definitely make me nervous.

It does look pretty intimidating but I was impressed with how well behaved the traffic seemed in the video.
In my neck of the woods there seems to be a fair bit of the he-who-hesitates-is-lost kind of attitude when it comes to who has the right of way at roundabouts, so less confident drivers can be stuck for quiet a while.

It's so hard to explain... but no the circles are individual roundabouts within the larger one. You might go round one of them towards the inner section then round a second one depending where you were going.

Yep, I've done the magic roundabout. It takes some concentrating first time, but not as bad on the ground as the ariel photos make it look.

My second was "kids, Big Ben". Can you explain? It's a quote from National Lampoon's European Vacation. They get stuck in a giant traffic circle near Big Ben and keep going around and around. I have no idea if there is really a traffic circle there!

We have quite a few roundabouts here. They are super helpful at former 4 way stops where the traffic used to be backed up forever for the folks going or coming from work. With the roundabout, they all keep moving, itās beautiful.
The video really helped with the āmagicā one. After watching for awhile, it all made sense.
Iām not saying I wouldnāt panic if I found myself in one, though.

I hope I NEVER have to drive through a round-about like that - it seems very confusing.
My first thought was "Oh hell no". My second was "kids, Big Ben".
Ha Ha - I always think this when I go through a round about - "Look kids, Big Ben...Parliament"

Big roundabout make me nervous. We are getting a few in the next few years though. Not looking forward to them. The key to navigating through a roundabout is to be in the correct lane as you approach it. Pay attention to the signs posted on the approach road and prepare accordingly. I won't confuse you by talking from a British point of view when getting to a roundabout as we drive on the opposite side. All I can suggest is, pick a time you think the traffic will be light and familiarise yourself with the layout and exits. It will be second nature very quickly. I knew someone who hated a new roundabout which opened near us. it has four sets of traffic lights on it and multiple exits. I think her main issue is she didn't read the signs correctly, got in the wrong lane and then panicked. It's a well thought out roundabout and the traffic lights are synched perfectly to avoid build up.

KikiPea if the roundabout is a very big one, with a lot of roads joining and leaving it, then traffic lights on the roundabout control the flow. The roundabout I'm talking about has five roads meeting at the same point. It's way better than what was there before. Clearly a good study of the traffic flow and peak times was conducted before the traffic light sequencing was set up because the wait time is minimal.
