Why don’t the manufacturers put a sticker on the side to show what color the ink pad is??? 😡😡😡
I think the majority of us store our ink pads in a way that doesn’t show the top. I hate having to make my own color labels to attach to the side that shows when stored.

Crafters organize differently, so most manufacturers likely don't add a side label due to cost & a lack of consensus on which side of ink pads the sticker should be placed!
Personally, I store inks side-by-side/unstacked in a wide/shallow drawer & can see every ink pad lid at a glance when opening the drawer; no side label needed for me.

Can I add my ink pad vent?
Could the manufacturers please put the accurate colour of the ink on their label? I see no reason for my diy swatches if the lid AND side show a realistic result of using the ink.

I agree it would be useful to have a label on the site, although at the present time I store mine in Alex drawers so am looking down on them. I definitely agree about accurate colours being depicted on the labels - some of them are very misleading!

I do like that Simon Says Stamp has the color labels on the sides as well as the color on the top. Color names are also on the top and the side label.

My Distress Oxide ink pads look nothing like the sticker on the top. And the names they choose are not helpful either!

Yeah, even if the reproduction of the color isn't perfectly accurate (which I think can be a huge problem, probably much more difficult than us muggles realize) having a name label on the side would help. Although then some people would probably want it on both sides, and other people would say they really need it on the end...

Simon Says inks are close but still don’t look the same once you put ink to paper. I prefer swatching because that way I know what it’s going to look like when I stamp with it.

Yes, it’s that way on their Positively Saturated inks.

I use my label maker to add the name on the side. And I always make sure the name is labeled on the lid and base in case they get separated. (Yes, I've accidently dropped a stack of them and they separated!)
I've also stamped a small solid stamp and punched it out with a hole punch and glued it to the side so I could see the color. It's a bit of work but it's a good project for a rainy day.
ETA: I know the above is not an ideal situation (it would be great if the manufactures did this already) but it's my workaround.

I have done that in the past and it works for me. I don’t want to have to do it though lol

Most of my inks are Momento, which do have the name on the side (which is how I store them, in a lunch box). My complaint is, I ran out of colors (Memento only has so many...) so now I'm buying inks from Lawn Fawn, which are not labeled on the side, and the lids don't stay on which means I have to store them flat...
ETA: Momento and Lawn Fawn both have the ink color on the bottom in case the lid get separated, which has happened since I have kids...
