I keep all of my collections and kits together in individual 2 gallon ziplock bags or Iris boxes. The paper is in there, the stickers and die cuts are in there, etc. The only thing that doesn't go in there are matching alphabets (unless they are very themed) and enamel dots. I usually keep the washi in a separate place, too, because it is so bulky.
I love this organization system- it totally goes with the way I scrap and it is so convenient for going to crops. I can scrap really easily and efficiently this way.
My problem? I can't figure out how to store the bags. They don't fit in a kallax system or any other shelving systems I know of. The only thing that has worked so far is the big Rubbermaid type totes. But by the time you put 4+ of them on the ground you are taking up a lot of floor space. I'd love to have a more vertical way to store them.
I see all of these neat scrap rooms but the organization systems that work with them involve separating all of the stuff- paper goes here, die cuts here, etc. They look beautiful and I know I'd feel better if my stuff looked that way but it would make me crazy trying to find all of the pieces in all of those separate places.
So my bags are all over the house. I have piles of them on the floor. I have them stuffed everywhere- it is a disaster. You would be appalled at the mess.
Any thoughts on how to store those darn bags? I like all of my other organization (enamel dots, wood pieces, washi, stencils, etc.) but the actual bags themselves are a nightmare.

I keep my collections together, too. Are you looking for somewhere to store extra empty bags or bags of the collections? I’m guessing bags with collections. I know lots of people store them just standing up in a kallax unit. For a visual, Cilla choice bits of bliss and Nicole Mackin on YouTube have theirs like this. For me personally, it looks a little messy and it’s easier to flip through, if they’re vertical but facing me. Yes please paper Crafts has a video of flip bins. www.youtube.com/watch?v=4xqz6Go7uFc&list=PLOKBlFuy7ANwXvMgG-Psl3ojr_ovtdaqY&index=2Mine are similar. I have some older fabric bins and Target 13 inch fabric bins that I use to store them. I also discovered record sleeves take up less room, so I switched to those from the 2 gallon ones. Hope that helps! www.target.com/p/13-x-13-fabric-bin-brightroom/-/A-86034814?preselect=83498508#lnk=sametab

I just bought one of these Sterilite 30 quart stackers to try out for this exact purpose, artbabe. If I can get a reasonable number of those bags in one of them, I can then get some others to stack different themes.

Mine are stored upright on a Kallax shelf but it's not ideal - messy and hard to flip through. I would love to find a better solution so am following

artbabe I have a Kallax cube full of Hip Kit Club kits (paper, different types of embellishments) that come in 2 gallon bags. How are your bags not fitting in the Kallax??

Yep. Everything she said. I love my bins. I use medium for paper and the large for storing my Thickers and 6x12, and 12x12 stickers (not the ones that go with the collection or kit).

I have some of my 12x12 paper in milk crates. They do stick over the top by a couple inches. I wonder if you use stack them on their sides instead and use them that way.

I use the Totally Tiffany paper boxes: www.scrapbook.com/store/sr-a26.htmlLike you, I store my collections and embellishments in bags and I find that this is a reasonable way to keep them corralled. They don’t fit in my Kallax cubbies, but I have them lined up on top, and on some other shelves, a cart, etc. They seem to hold a decent amount. I also use them to store my b-sides/leftover paper in rainbow order. She has some similar bins that are a lightweight plastic, but these are fairly economical and do the job for me.

I have a milk crate on wheels and it will hold up to 4 iris cases on edge. You could probably stack the milk crates like that with iris cases in the ones not on top.

I use 13 x 13 plastic envelopes-holders. www.hobbylobby.com/Scrapbook-Paper-Crafts/Storage-Organization/Memory-Keepers---13-x-13/p/20474I put everything in there, paper, stickers, embellishments, etc... I have mine(about 30+) in rolling file carts. I have a Better Homes and Garden 1x5 cube unit, they fit in there as well.....I just prefer the rolling carts though. My cube unit holds all my scrapbooks. Not sure on the inside the cube measurements of the Kallax, but they may fit in there.

I find that these don't store the paper with the baggie. Since they angle down at the bottom. I was just at the Container Store today and again measured them. The one that is 15 inches does work, but it is very wide. OP, I had to put my stuff in smaller baggies and put stickers on the baggies to remind me that I have ephemera etc in another place that matches. The paper goes in my Kallax and the other items go in my closet labeled. You could still keep everything together in another place other than the paper.

Watching this thread with interest! Those record sleeves intrigue me caangel and are in my cart at amazon. How well do they hold up? The ziploc bags are "messy" - I'm guessing the record sleeves would be more streamlined?

I have trouble with the small & medium container bins, too. I can fill one of them with cardstock, but for collections, it's a tighter squeeze at the bottom and harder to put them in/ pull them out. The XL one is wider, so no problems with that one.

I'd love to know the ones you are using that work. I can only find the extra large one that is 15 inches deep (at the top). There are clear ones and then there are opaque ones and I struggle with both. ETA: I just checked your post again and you gave the info.

If you want to store all of your stuff together, these fit 12 x 12 papers really well with ephemera and Thickers. I have a dozen of them and keep my favorite lines in them. They make it really easy to go to a crop and have it all together. They are only 1.1 inches deep, so not a lot, but I can keep about 48 pieces of paper with the extra in there. www.amazon.com/iBune-Storage-Portable-Scrapbook-Documents/dp/B09P3FVMZH?th=1

The ziploc bags are "messy" - I'm guessing the record sleeves would be more streamlined? I think I've had them about 6 months and no issues, no tears. It is amazing what a difference it made, even though I was using plastic bags/packaging before have 1 type of bag and zero bulk made a significant impact. The sleeves are slightly wider than 12 inches which makes it easy to put paper in and allows some room for lots of paper and/or bulky embellishments. I'm really happy with them and switch out all my bags/packaging. It's a little painful to create so much more plastic waste but at least it was worth it.

I am using open top record sleeves to hold my smaller paper collections. The cut-off strip sticks out on top (I'd rather have that stick out than the paper itself), but that doesn't bother me. I like it much better than opening/closing a zip top bag. I got my sleeves from clearbags.com. They will send you samples so you can try out the different sizes/weights.

I keep some of my stickers in these record sleeve type envelopes from the Check Out Store. They are quite nice. The baggies I use are just slightly over 12.5 inches from the GT store and I believe they are 2 ml thick. They don't hold the amount of paper that a Ziplock does, but they hold their shape better.

I also use the 1- or 2-gallon bags, in my case for various mixed media art supplies. I have shelves in my closet, and I group the bags on the shelves and label the shelves so I know where to look. In my case, watercolor, acrylics, beads, adhesives, etc. Can you use a bookshelf to store the bags in groupings?

I recently discovered that the narrow Billy bookcase from Ikea will fit an Iris container. Some of the container does overhang the shelf, but only a few inches. I have it next to a deep Billy bookcase and the front of the Iris containers are even with the front of the bookcase. It makes it really easy to stack a tower of Iris cases and have them perfectly organized. You could put the collections in an album sleeve and in the Iris cases organized by color or theme. You could even keep bulkier items like washi/enamel dots/wood pieces in a layer on the bottom. Put a piece of 12 x 12 paperboard over them to separate that layer.
Another idea is a basket in the Expedit/Kallax. I have some large baskets that I bought at Target that just fit in the cubes. 12x12 paper stored upright would fit in there--maybe the album sleeves would as well?
For crops, maybe just bring a few of the kits that you will work on, vs your entire collection? That sounds like a lot to haul in and out of your house!

I store my collections the same way in a zipper bag. I then put them in the 13” fabric bins from Target/Walmart, standing upright so I can easily flip through. These bins fit the BHG and Target cubes, so I expect they fit Kallax too. If I use the 2.5 gal Hefty bags, I do need to fold the side over to fit, if that makes sense.

I store most of my supplies by collection. I use a combination of hanging file folders in rolling carts with each collection in a folder ..... well sometimes I put multiple collections by the same manufacturer in a file folder because I never buy whole collections, and use crates and wire baskets for collections that are stored in plastic bags and folders. The crates and baskets were not designed for scrapbook supplies, they just happen to work. So the hanging file folders are not grab and go, like for a crop, but the collections I keep in the baskets and bins are. Note that I do not have an "Ikea" crafting room, my space has more of a vintage, collected vibe so the crates and baskets might not complement an Ikea room.

I put this thread on here and then forgot about it until today. Oops. It was nice to see everyone's ideas. My problem is the sheer size of my collection. If you stacked all of my bags together I'm guessing it would be 15-20 feet high. A lot of the solutions mentioned would be great if I had a small stash but I can't afford the sheer number of containers that would be needed. The solution, I think, is to have less stuff, and I did purge a foot tall stack of paper recently, and an Iris case sized box of embellishments but it didn't make much of a dent in my stash. 2 or 2.5 gallon bags are quite a bit larger than the bags Hip Kits come in. Sometimes I store a lot of stuff in one bag. I'll try again to see if they fit in a Kallax. I tried it awhile ago and somehow it didn't work for me, but I can't remember why. If they fit I'll need the huge Kallax. I hate carrying the really heavy pieces and putting them together. That is the problem of being a person who lives alone. If that is what will work, however, I'll bite the bullet. I like the idea of storing the bulkier stuff in a separate spot and leaving a sticker to remind me. I kind of do a really disorganized version of this. My new label maker came today so I'm eager to start labeling everything and try to make that system work. In my head the label maker is going to solve all of my problems.
