Welcome to 28-4-28. A challenge a day for twenty eight days!
I will be your Wednesday host, and each of my challenges will include a little Midweek Math. But the fun kind!
Here is Challenge #1: Easy as 1, 2, 3. The challenge is to use ONE photo, TWO paper patterns, and a THREE word title. (for a card, read one focal image, two papers, and a 3 word greeting) That's all. Oh, and for the twist for the first Wednesday, all you have to do is handwrite something. It could be the journaling, a date, part of the title, anything on your project.
Here is my sample: Full disclosure, this page design was borrowed from an ad for Not Just for Boys fb group. The designer was Lacy Robin. I printed it off and later went to try to find it on the NJFB site itself, but couldn't, so no link. Maybe craftymom101 could link it from the fb group?
Please come and play. And please post your takes on this challenge in this thread.
Challenge team members can earn points from playing along, but if you are not a member of a team, just ignore this: Earn FIVE points for meeting the challenge + a BONUS of TWO points if you meet the twist on the same project. Bonus 500 points for completing ALL 28 challenges--with or without the twist--on or before March 7th.

This was such a fun challenge, thanks grammadee! Every year, my mother-in-law tries to get a nice picture of our family (with an 8, 5, and almost-3 year old) and this was "the best shot" of the bunch of photos she took this year.

Oh I love it, scrappymeg! Cool idea to turn the page design on its side to let those trees look like they were gracing a snowy landscape. Also love that the title tells part of the story. Thanks so much for playing along!

Attempting to remember how to post a photo... masontrain by BreetheFlea, on Flickr one photo, two papers (that was hard!) and a three word title--check. I'm might add something else later, that upper corner looks a little empty... and the lighting in this room is horrible for taking photos (shadows no matter which way I stand) so the journaling is just about the train table returning to the library after it disappeared during COVID.

FABULOUS, breetheflea! Love the way this page turned out! I struggle leaving “white space”, too, but your open corner kinda gives more weight to the other elements. Thanks so much for playing along!

grammadee , scrappyrabbit and breetheflea, you each have love in the gallery. Great job on this challenge. scrappymeg , that's a cute photo of the family. Getting everyone together for a photo is sometimes daunting! I love your colorful Christmas trees with a snowy background. Great use of the stickers/die cuts to tie it all together. Very pretty. Linda , I left you love in the sharing thread. You look pretty in purple! This is mine. My scanner doesn't like light/pastel colors so it's pretty washed out. Sweet Baby Girl

Thank you grammadee , nylene , and linda ! linda : I love the purples and the Pinkfresh papers you selected, and I love the message of your title. nylene : The colors and layout fit the picture you used perfectly. What a sweet baby girl! breetheflea I love the train track die cuts you used to tie in with the picture. I too found it tough to use just two papers!

cindytred, I love the way you did this challenge. Your papers are perfect and I love the photo that shows so many friends and so many cookies. The title down the side is a great touch. Beautiful Christmas page.

grammadee - when you say 2 papers - do you mean 2 patterns, or if I use both sides of 1 patterned paper does that only count as 1?

grammadee - when you say 2 papers - do you mean 2 patterns, or if I use both sides of 1 patterned paper does that only count as 1? You can use the two sides of one paper. I think my sample is two sheets of the same paper, just one flipped over.

I combined this with Aussie Meg's first sketch! One photo, two pieces of patterned paper (a few branding strips from my scrap bin, plus I used the branding strips from the actual papers I used...I figured those don't count!) and a 3 word title. And as always, my hand written journaling. Thanks for the challenge grammadee ! layout covid yearbook photo by kirstendrew, on Flickr

Thanks for the fun challenge grammadee . I was a bit worried about limiting myself to *only* two patterned papers, but then I saw nylene 's page where she used the same patterned paper in a couple of different places. Clever! So I copied her.

I am in the midst of the Layout a Day challenge. I decided to do it in a 6x8 notebook this year and that is making it so much easier. This is for Day 6. What a Blast

Thanks for playing along with this one, justjac. Left you love on Flickr. I am not playing LOAD b/c my annual membership lapsed and after thinking about how little I use what they offer over there, I decided not to renew. Actually I intentionally waited to renew b/c last year I had just done it manually and the auto renew kicked in. But when it didn't I decided to let one scrappy opportunity go...

grammadee thanks for the challenge and for sharing your handsome fella! scrappyrabbit mmm LOVE how the photo is framed in the stump, and how the leaves in the 2nd printed paper are similar to the leaves in the stump printed paper, and your photo itself. So nicely balanced! breetheflea, so cute, I like how the tracks draw your eye to the cutie pie and the restful space in the upper right corner. Linda so lovely to see your lovely face in a favorite color. Excellent message! nylene you look so good with a baby in your arms. So much sweetness - your papers and elements really celebrate the preciousness. cindytred I love how your photo is taken from high up to get all the delicious action. Yum. Nicely framed photo. kitbop I like how lovely your page is with stitched hearts and pretty colors - but that it lets the main photo especially shine. AussieMeg The colors!!!! How they pick up on the pattern colors of the shirt and combine all together in joy. Thanks for sharing your lovely self. justjac what a cute memory! Glad you are liking the 6x8. My Day One:

Love your take on the challenge, jjpeapea. Sorry it took me awhile to get back here. Great use of the college (?) themed pp, and I love your title. Ryann, I just finished leaving love for your fun page in the Gallery. Thank you both for playing!
