I want to ask a question of the quilters. I want to store my cutting mat in my craft room. However I stood it upright, leaning against the side of something and it seemed like it was starting to get a bend in it. So I moved to flat on the floor in the corner. I don't want to leave it on the floor because of my cats. But I don't want it to get warped either. Any suggestions for me? My big 24" x 36" board lives on end in the space between my washer & dryer. It's been the perfect storage spot - out of the way and there isn't enough space between the machines for it to get that bend. Other options I've tried is on the floor under the big bed and also under the sofa/sectional.

jeremysgirl, I have no real advice as my mat just lives on a table near my sewing machine. I did have a second mat tucked snugly in behind a bookcase that I could pull out as required. But that's now out flat on a second table, (partly to discourage anyone from leaving non crafting stuff on the table!)

I have finally finished a cover for my Singer Featherweight. I learned to sew on that little machine 60years ago. I had no pattern so I had to wing it. Of course, I am not satisfied with the way it turned out. LOL. I learned a lot and I might make another one to perfect my pattern.

I think anyone would be thrilled to have a cover like yours.

DEX, really like your cover, great job, how did you do the image? I also like the ikea(?) shelf idea for your quilting rulers. Tidy, out of the way, accessible, perfect.

Meant to say, I've finished my Sholach and am happy with it. Have started another pattern by the same designer which is perfect for all the left over yarn I have accumulated. It's called Bonnie Fair Isle. How it's going to end up looking is a complete mystery! www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/bonnie-fair-isle-mosaic-afghan

I bought the design for the cover from Etsy. The ruler shelf is from Pottery Barn but I got it at a thrift store.
