Hello Peas! Who is ready for a new sketch? Are you making valentine's day cards this year? And if you are how many do you usually send out? Video with the downloadable link youtu.be/ZXq67liMggsProcess video youtu.be/KmPMstzE_vkcmpeter suggested to use the color pallet on the Q1 challenge list for the extra 10 points challenge. This is a great idea , thank you cmpeter. I am open for any ideas for next months challenge. This picture is for one of the color pallet in the Q1 challenges. Use at least 3 of them and you can mix it with neutral colors.

I’m not sure what I’m doing yet. But, not valentine’s cards since I did those for the January SLOC.
Now to find some papers that match the color palette. :-)

Love your cards azcrafty! I always forget about using twine, such a great look. I have two friends coming over next Saturday and we are going to Sheetload together.

I have grabbed a couple of Doodlebug papers that have busy patterns on one side and a coordinating tone on tone prints on the other (like many of their papers do) so I'm flipping half of the pieces to make 6 cards from one sheet. That turned out to be easier for me than finding two different papers that went together (my stash is dwindling and some of my papers didn't look like they'd work for 1" strips).
I have one set kitted up and almost ready to go but I haven't figured out what sentiment/focal point to use for the second one. I'm going to try and figure that one out this afternoon. The cutting was pretty quick and easy, although I haven't done the quarter circle/sentiment shape yet. I might actually leave that off some of my cards.
Time to figure that out! If this works out well I might make several sets.

BTW if you're using 12x12 cardstock for your matting layers you can get 4 of the big ones and 4 of the smaller ones from one sheet of 12x12. I'm not sure if that works out more efficiently or with less wastage than another way - I'm not that good with space and math! But I think that means using three 12x12s you can cut all the matting layers.
I did one cut at 4.25" and then cut that strip down into four 2.5"s, then cut the remaining piece at 3.75" twice for the bigger pieces.

I forgot to come back and share my cards! I did one half-set with the back and front of one paper and another half-set with the back and front of another paper because I couldn’t find 2 appropriate coordinating papers in my diminishing Dbug stash. I’m using up old stuff. It’s almost time to go shopping! Potty people: http://instagram.com/p/CofZ5Qqpthx Licorice allsorts/candy: http://instagram.com/p/CogjyearraU

Very late in posting my February cards, but here they are. Using up some older patterned paper and a favorite bird die.

That is NOT a very late SLoC, cmpeter. THIS is a very late SLoC: or at least the first half of one. I have 11 more in the works, but I have to stop now. Hopefully I can steal a little time to finish tomorrow morning. I'm afraid I didn't stop in time and am going to hate what I did late this afternoon, but we'll see.

And the birthday cards: Not sure I love them, but I sort of don't worry too much about that with Cards for Cubs. It sort of cracks me up that they insist on handmade cards, but you can download their full-color card fronts and/or sentiments, print them on card stock, and donate them. I figure that if that counts as a handmade card, mine of just fine, even if a little odd.

Great colorful cards Shakti. I believe C4C only takes A2 sized cards, but I might be wrong. joblackford do you know if they limit sizes?

From the site -- SIZE RECOMMENDATIONS: 5in x 7in (A7), 4in x 6in (A6) or 4 1/4in x 5 1/2 (A2).
February SLoC was A2. I think it was September that was A7. I do have some A7s to give them (5 birthday cards). I might try to adapt the September sketch to A6 and make five to fill out that birthday bundle of 10.
I more meant odd in that I'm really unsure about the frog stickers in particular. I like the star and butterfly cards.

Thanks Shakti. Than it was a different organization where they only took A2 sizes. I think the frog is adorable. I would just place it differently. The frog where the dragonfly is and the dragonfly on the other side of the sentiment or where the frog was. In my mind the dragonfly flies in the air and the frog on the ground and trying to eat it 🤣 I like to create a triangle with my embellishments and heavier- bigger ones on the bottom and lighter-smaller on top. But than sometimes I mix it up.

Sometimes I did them that way, but I get weird about color and sometimes the bluer greens were down by the sentiment and the greens of the frogs offended me when they were abutting. I have weird color issues.

They're better than fine, they're lovely Kids really just enjoy pretty colorful things and foster kids will be happy that anyone remembered them... The more color and stickers the better for the younger kids. I think I can understand why they want them to be handmade even though the bar is very, very low for what handmade looks like. I suspect they'd get a bunch of low quality generic notecards or charity giveaway cards if they opened it up to "store bought" cards. I've chopped up store bought cards and charity junk to glue onto a card base many a time to donate! I figure if I use a stitched die it feels more special. But I felt kind of icky putting extra bought cards into my last BSTS box, even though they said they wanted them. Offering downloads drives traffic to their site and is a gateway to the cardmaking addiction... hehe

It might even be what I was trying to say. I had an email exchange with BStS about charity note cards and they did say they didn't want them completely blank. So I stamp "happy hello" or "thinking of you" type sentiments inside and then send them. I figure I have put some effort in and improved them, so there you go.

Than it was a different organization where they only took A2 sizes. Cards for Kindness "recommends" A2. They do say they accept any size.
