I'll be your Sunday host and each week will bring a different word to use for inspiration. You can use the word directly on your card or layout, you can choose your colours to reflect the word, you use photos and/or embellishments that are inspired by the word, you can even spell out the word using the products on your project. Our first word of the week is WATER - the twist is to use a PL/journalling card/cut-apart on your layout or card but alter it in some way - cut it up, add embellishments, change the colours, stamp on... And here's my sample. I chose photos of WATER but also a background paper that included water as well as blue cardstock. I used 2/3rds of a cut-apart card - the middle is the title and one of the edges is under the photo block at the bottom. grammadee

This is a perfect watery beach layout! I LOVE that shade of navy, and the photorealistic paper is really pretty - do you know what brand it is?

Wow. That background pp could have been an enlargement of THAT beach! Love your page, Linda. And dang! I had Halloween and hockey as my next two topics to scrap. Now I need to decide: do I do those anyway because I have the photos and papers handy? Or do I dig out the lake photos from last summer that have yet to see a page? Hmmm... I saw those paddle board stickers somewhere when I was organizing...

Thank you grammadee and kitbop the photorealistic paper is really pretty - do you know what brand it is? It's a Recollections (Michaels) pad - Everyday Snapshots. DH picked it up for me at a yardsale recently. I don't typically grab photo realistic papers as I think they can be hard to use but I have this pad sitting on my desk and am trying to flip through it and use some it.

oceanpark by BreetheFlea, on Flickr I posted on the scrapping board a few months ago (maybe, time...) about all the beach scrapbook paper being meant for tan sand, and Washington has gray sand... and it was a whole thing. Anyway, this was the photo I was trying to scrap at the time. I gave up on trying to make it work with tan beach paper, and made my own background... in gray! And there's definitely water in there, and I did cut up a PL card for the kids' heights, but didn't remember that was part of the prompt until posting this. I was going to put a title at the bottom, but first, I can't think of one, and second, now that the journaling is in that corner I'm not sure if I want more stuff on the layout. Anyway, challenge complete. The blue background paper is from Lawn Fawn. The mist is Splash (sort of a green color) from Mister Huey's. I think the heart under the location is from Freckled Fawn, and everything else I have no idea Thank you for posting the challenge and getting this layout off my to-do pile

breetheflea, that is an amazing page! Love how you tore the "sand" layers and put your people right on your paper beach, looking out at the ocean. Everything is perfect, right down to the splashes!

Ok mine isn't a traditional "Water" layout, but when I think of water, the color BLUE comes to mind. And also these photos were taken on Cape Cod which is an area surrounded by water For the twist, I cut that "Gathering" pocket card and saved the other half, which is lined and perfect for journaling on another layout. Excuse the terrible lighting of this layout. Celebrate by scrappy rabbit, on Flickr

Life is Better Under the SeaMade this while on the Online Crop this morning. Thanks for the inspiration all of you online. For the twist I inked the edges of the title cut apart and added Nuvo drops.

Here is my LO, Linda. I used two identical sheets of pp for the facing pages; just flipped the second one so more water showed above my cs "sand". Used two PL cards==actually they are cut aparts. One I tore in two to use a piece on each page; the other I cut into a circle. Lake Life with Mom & Dad by Gramma Dee, on Flickr

grammadee - that was an excellent solution with the photorealistic paper -I really like how you matched the horizon lines on the photos with the horizon line of the paper on the left! Thanks for playing!

Thanks for the great challenge Linda . I have a LOT of water photos, my only issue was choosing which ones to use. These are photos from a trip away with friends in January. I used a journal card from one kit and altered the colours to match the papers I was using.
