I'm having a hard time shopping for my babies this year. They gave me lists but they're pretty conservative. They each want new video game systems (2 want Playstation 4, the other wants Xbox One) but that's just not happening this year.
The older two will have drivers ed in the spring and we've got a trip to Chicago and one to New Orleans coming up, i'm just not putting out $1500+ in a game system and accessories with so much coming up. When a new system comes out they want to play it all the time and i'm just not looking for the disruption it causes.
Anyway, they each had shoes, clothes, etc on their lists but there really isn't much else.
They've got a pile of shirts, sweatshirts, jeans, they each have shoes so far. One has a flying alarm clock, they all got straw building kits, they're all getting Iphones and accessories, one is getting a mini fridge for his room...now i'm stuck.
Input, suggestions, ideas? anything? What are you buying this year?

Do they like board games? My kids, who are just out of their teens (early 20's) like the Munchkin games. They also like Settlers of Catan games, Ticket to Ride game series & Days of Steam. They both prefer video games, but when we start playing these games they have fun. Are they into shaving? I found a shop on Etsy that makes razors, think handmade handles. I got them them double edge safety razors with hand made handles last year & some shaving soap, dish, aftershave & they loved it. They've never used a double edge safety razor & once they did they won't go back to the regular ones!

I bought my 13 year old cousin a remote controlled quadcopter that he can attach his GoPro to.
And before the Peas freak out, he lives in a rural area with plenty of land between his house and his neighbors homes.

If I'm not mistaken, your boys are pretty close in age to my son (16-1/2). He and his friends love playing Cards Against Humanity - make sure you know what you're getting into before you decide to buy it though - it's very, very off-color, and not everyone appreciates that. If your boys are any younger than mine, you might not want to get it. I'm also starting to pick up a few things for when he goes to college - dishes, his own manicure set, one of those valet trays to put his keys and wallet, etc. If they don't already have well-stocked tool boxes, get them tools and a tool box.

They are really close...they'll be 17 in August They love Cards Against Humanity and we ordered their random shit package this year (I don't know the real name of it, but i'm excited to get the goodies!) I just ordered shaving sets, great idea! I'll check out the games, we try to do family game night pretty often so we're always looking for something new!

We just picked up indoor snowball fight sets, and they are for adult kids. They would be fun for any age, though, especially teens.

I ordered the "Ten Days of Kwanzaa or Whatever" thing from them for ds this year. We have received 2 so far. Do they have all 5 of the expansion packs for it?

I know I probably sound like a broken record with this but Nerf guns! Really, what teenage boy can resist a Nerf gun? Hell, my 63 year old father ordered himself one so he could shoot with the boys. You could get small ones that shoot just one or one of the mega ones. My oldest informed me that his cousin still likes his Nerf gun once in a while and he's 16.

Tabletop board games such as the ones already mentioned plus others like Betrayal at the House on the Hill, Carcassonne, Pandemic, Forbidden Island and/or Desert Dollar Shave Club kits Subscription boxes to Loot Crate Bluetooth speakers
The boys in my family are in their early 20s but these items are on their list or are things we came up with for them that we knew they would like.

I got my DS google cardboard for his new phone and he loves it. It can work with iPhone. It turns the phone into a virtual reality headset with a few different apps.

My DS is 15 and he is super into records. We got him a record player and some albums for his birthday in July. He's added to his collection since then. He's getting a few new albums for Christmas. I don't get it; he has an iPhone with tons of music on it, but he loves listening to records.

What about an experience gift? Tickets to a show or entrance to some local event? Or ski passes, snow tubing etc. if they would participate in those?

Have you heard of "tile". Is it a little square you out on the things that you lose frequently. Wallet, phone, keys etc
