Last night after I let the dogs outside for a quick minute, my youngest (5) decided to go downstairs to the "racetrack." It is a carpeted space that she can do large circles and figure 8's. If my scrap room is open, she'll add that space in. She ran her laps and then went for the finish in my scrap room and I forgot and left my Gemini Jr. plugged into extension cord. My desk sits in the middle of the room, so I imagine she "clotheslined" herself (cord around her neck) and it took out my Jr (now unplugged on the floor) I have carpet and a rug on the top of the carpet. All of the plates that were sitting on top of it were all over the floor. Thankfully the pup was not hurt and my Jr. seems to be just fine too. Dogs. She is such a tough little cookie. She is also the one who will chase bears out of the yard too. Picture because she is the sassiest beast I have ever had. 2-3-22 Harley snow by Nancy Tim, on Flickr

Oh no, I know what you mean! My dog likes to sit and look out the window during the day, and when he sees a squirrel, he freaks out. My husband is usually working from home next to this window so sometimes the dog will run and catch on the computer charger. Luckily nothing bad has happened but I could see a situation where he pulls the computer down or somehow knocks a drink over on it.

Sometimes I'll put a chair in front of the window so she can bark or chuff at wildlife. She is Gladys Kravitz in corgi form.

When you said “your youngest” went to the basement I thought you meant your youngest human child and then you didn’t comment on them not being injured, just your dog not being injured LMAO!! I had to reread.
Glad all is well.

Thankfully no dogs or electronic equipment was injured in this incident! I thought when I started reading and saw the pic at the bottom of your post that she had been relegated to the backyard until you had the mess cleaned up! Awesome pic of a cute little protector!

I had to reread. Glad all is well. My sons will say that they are second to the dogs. To be fair, the dogs are wayyyy easier than my kids ever were. Now that my youngest son has his own dog, I can say that he's even worse than I am. Makes me happy.

She'd love to be sent outside. So many new friends out there to terrorize.

She is so cute! And what a close call, thank goodness both were okay!
My dogs haven't gotten up to anything in my scrap room yet - one of them (the Bernese in my avatar) is deathly afraid of my scrap room for some reason and won't go past the doorway. I can't coax her in at all. It's for the best, she's a klutz

She jumps up, kicks off the pillows, and then snoozes away. I don't think there is a spot in the house that she does not believe is hers. Both the corgi and Bernese are herding/farm working dogs. I thought that maybe my corgis are a little more obnoxious, outgoing because they are herders/working dogs. Maybe it's the height? Short dog energy?

The smaller dogs that I've had in the past have always had way more energy than my large dogs. The big ones (Bernese & Newfoundland) sleep way more and need much less exercise. I've had a toy poodle and a border collie and they were both insane in terms of running around in circles and just never quitting - the border collie moreso, though. My son used to beg me for a Corgi, but then he went away to university so I get a reprieve from the begging, but they are cute dogs!

Whenever I am working on a project, they both magically show up in there to play... I had to kick them out a few nights ago so they didn't mess up my stenciling project, ha!
