Hello everyone, and welcome to the weekend! I am posting early this week, as we have gone away for a weekend at the beach. It's 9:30am Saturday and we are about to head off to explore. In this week's version of This or That Sketchy Saturday, I have chosen two very different sketches: One is a filled page and the other has lots of white space. The first one is a free template that was supplied for the "Filled Template" challenge at The Lilypad last month. It's got quite a lot going on, although you could pare down the embellishments a bit. I haven't yet done a sample layout for this one, but you can pop over to The Lilypad and see a whopping nine pages of fabulous examples: Filled Template pages
The second sketch is one that I made up from a layout I found on line.
I love white space layouts, but I usually don't like to 'waste' a good photo on such a small photo space. Instead of making the photo bigger, I decided to do a layout using a photo that isn't very good, but still has a story I want to tell. I stuck pretty much exactly to the sketch: The twist is in keeping with the This or That Sketchy Saturday (TTSS) theme. Choose at least three items from each of the following This or That options: String or Turquoise Stitching or Tag Stripes or Thickers Stamp or Tree Staple or Texture (gesso etc) Silver or Tape Stencil or Thread Have fun, and I will check back in after a hard day at the beach! ☀️ 🏄♀️ 🏖

Linda - I think you ROCKED that page - it's beautiful! I thought this was going to be hard...but the pre-made background just leapt out from my stash and made this a piece of cake! I stamped/embossed the black/white butterflies so I got "stamp" "turquoise" and "stripes" too. layout forever weird by kirstendrew, on Flickr

Thank you kitbop. I love that mixed media background and how your colour choices tie in with the photo

kitbop, your background paper is so beautiful with this sketch. I'll get a closer look in the gallery. Linda, I was thinking this is one I will skip, but if I scraplift you I think I can maybe do it. Your page is beautiful. Art is the perfect title because your layout is truly a work of art too.

I think I can maybe do it. You can do it - it was timeconsuming cutting all various bits -used the Cricut, QK, and punches - and then gluing them all. The hardest part was spacing the journalling and making the right size ring for it

Wow girls, I'm amazed at how quickly you did these pages, and how amazing they are!! Linda I always love yellow and purple together. Your colours and embellishments are perfect 💯 for your photo. The sprinkling of dots, hearts, and butterflies looks amazing. Thank you for playing, and thanks for inspiring nylene to maybe give this one a go! kitbop , wow! I'll leave love in the gallery for your gorgeous page. Do remember what paper that is?

Hey AussieMeg. I took on that sketch with all the white space. Got so into getting the layout of the page right (white space is NOT my forte LOL), that I completely missed getting all the elements for the twist. Oh Layla 2 by Gramma Dee, on Flickr

I thought I could do this sketch if I scraplifted Linda's layout. Nothing seemed to work until I turned it on its side and then it came together easily. Thanks, AussieMeg for the sketches, and thanks for the inspiration Linda. I left love in the gallery or on the thread for each of you who posted above me. It's so fun to see everyone's version of these sketches. Drive-In Movie For the twist I used tag, string, faux stitching, and a stamp.
