Pun sort of intended. Stickers, scrapbooking... The other day it was Cheetos for $5.20 a bag at my grocery store, today, I was at my local-ish craft chain and washi tape was $8 for a single roll. Those A/C sticker books with a million stickers in them (Maggie Holmes, Heidi Swapp etc) were $25 a piece, on sale from $29. I have a bunch (I got for free) in my give-away box, but now I'm rethinking that because they're valuable The store does put things on clearance so I got some fall paper for .25 cents a sheet, and Christmas embellishments for $1 a pack but sheesh to everything else.

wow on the sticker books - I know LSSs need to mark stuff up more because of lower volume/higher overhead but that seems SUPER high - I thought they were in the $10-15 range

I like to shop at my LSS every few months. She is more expensive than online, but I do find things that I can't find online (or have $$ shipping). I just love that we have a store in town that I can feel and see the papers/ephemera before I buy. I guess I am willing to pay extra now and then to keep her open. I am also willing to pay up for paper. My husband does the grocery shopping, so when I do go, I am always shocked at the price of Cheetos (or most things).

The prices on everything have gone up.
I use stickers a lot in my scrapbooks.
Everyone's priorities in regards to expenditures are different. My extra funds(if I have any) go towards skin care and cosmetics, and scrapbook supplies.
For instance, my purse budget when I need a new one is usually $20-$30. Having a name brand purse doesn't matter to me. I'd rather have a purse from Ross or Walmart, and have more available funds for scrapbooking supplies. I could use that philosophy, in regards to hundreds of different items.
Unless money is no object, sometimes it's necessary to prioritize one's wants. When budgeting, sometimes it's necessary to pick and choose, and say no to some things.

Those AC sticker books always seemed ridiculously expensive to me. I haven't shopped them for ages but when they first came out they seemed like they cost a fortune and then I finally got one on sale and the stickers were so thin... nope.
Cheap washi tape isn't worth buying IMO - if it doesn't stick there's no point and I've wasted many dollars on the $1.50 stuff that's just ended up in the trash because it didn't work at all. But if I'm spending $8 on a roll it better be exquisite and I'm only going to get one or two.

Dollar store twine (500 feet for $1.25) is though.

Yikes! Without a LSS or JoAnn that is a designer destination, my only exposure to American Crafts brands was Tuesday Morning (pre-pandemic). I'm not a themed scrapper & use few embellishments, so I've only glanced at the sticker books. The stickers seemed thin & repetitive, plus they were not marked as acid-/lignin-free & (based on limited experience with other AC self-adhesive products - *cough* Thickers) likely don't actually stick as advertised. I didn't buy them for $4.99 at TM (pre-pandemic), I certainly wouldn't consider them at $25-29.
As an aside: Please share the name (& location/area) of the craft chain. TIA.

Unfortunately, these stores are on the opposite coast (~2,700 miles) from me. Happy shopping...
