Well, are you ready for another midweek math activity? This Wednesday, the lesson is: division.
1. Divide your canvas (no matter what size) into four equal parts.
2. Plan to put your photo(s) in just ONE of those four sections.
3. Your title will go into a different section, and your journaling into a third. Leave the last segment free.
4. You can draw lines to designate the sections, use different patterns or colours, or nothing at all to show the divisions. You can layer and embellish any of these sections any way you like, but keep these quarters distinct as possible (although all Shimelle fans will know that some elements can be encouraged to cross over the lines).
5. Have FUN! Don't stress about the exact dimensions. Just see what happens when you assign Photos, Title, Journaling, and White Space to different sections of your page...
Here is my sample:
The twist? Use the title of a song or movie or TV show as the inspiration for your title. I was inspired by "Sleepless in Seattle".
Note: you don't need to use square shapes spreading out from the centre like I did. You can draw imaginary or real lines from corner to corner and have four triangles. You can divide your page into four vertical or horizontal strips. Whatever gives you joy.

Thanks for this challenge grammadee. Your Toothless page is so sweet. I love the journaling addressed to him. You have love in the gallery. I guess my brain doesn't like white space. I kept trying to leave it blank but it just kept filling up with embellishments. Chinese New Year I didn't do the twist on this one.

Thanks for playing along, nylene! Love all the Chinese lanterns and that adorable rabbit. I struggle with white space too and did spritzing on mine.

menchies by BreetheFlea, on Flickr I tried leaving that one square empty, but couldn't do it... I'm not sure this one is just super simple, or I'll add more to it later. I didn't do the twist either.

This one was tough -8.5x11 doesn't divide as nicely into fourths as 12x12 - but I did it!

I was catching up in my mini-album/journal and kept this challenge in mind because it works well with the divided pockets: Untitled by scrappy rabbit, on Flickr

Linda, I love that page. Such a sweet pic and that title is really cute: did you cut that on Cricut? Love the colour combo too. Smart to think of this in terms of a pocket page, scrappyrabbit. Love that you are doing this book to document your pregnancy. Great pic of you on the beach. Is that a strip of ultra sound pic's?

Love that you are doing this book to document your pregnancy. Great pic of you on the beach. Is that a strip of ultra sound pic's? Yes, I’m holding a strip of ultrasounds. I created a pocket in the book to save the original strips, but of course I also printed out the digital Versions to include in my pages as well. It’s amazing even at my 8 week ultrasound how detailed they are!! Also how quickly the little baby grows.
