i remember when they had a lot of stores open. the prices were pretty decent and the selection was great (at least in terms of their scrapbook section). then their SB section dwindled down to practically nothing and the prices overall went up. that's when i bailed on them. i'm not surprised they are closing almost all of their stores.

I went into my store today for one last smell of the store (does anyone else's store have a distinct smell?) Some lady with a cart had decided to discuss the fate of the universe with some other customer and was blocking the entire scrap section... since I spent 25 minutes last week waiting for someone to move so I could look at the same things, I left.
Everything was 10% off last week, this week everything is 10% off with no refunds or returns, except furniture which is 20% off. If the puzzles were more than 10% off (barely covers the sales tax) I might have grabbed some...

Yesterday, I went into a Tuesday Morning for the first time in years, and I saw 10% off everything signs. I checked the list, and all six of the stores in the greater San Diego area will be closing. If anyone lives in my area, it might be worth a visit because they had a lot of good crafting supplies.

I'm bummed, mine is closing and it seems to have been a really nice spacious store compared to others, even though the craft items haven't gotten back to being nearly as good as they were, plus the hike in prices.
Outside of craft stuff, I always found good random stuff there. Just a couple weeks ago DH dropped me off so I could run in quick. Found a GREAT 6'x8' rug that was $99 plus 10% off. We have a rental car rn and it was full of groceries, including dog food so I decided I was fine skipping it. Of course, couldn't forget about it so we ended up running back the next morning with his truck to get it. As they are rolling it up, I see it was a Ballard Designs wool rug. Wow, I was so happy with that score and others in the past, I'm going to miss looking there!

I wonder if any stores will pick up the void left by TM? Do you think we might start seeing discount craft supplies at Marshall’s, TJ Maxx, etc?

Oh nooooooo . We made it through the first round, but now both my stores are closing and one that I visit out of state too. Honestly, I don't even care about the craft stuff because it has not been that great lately, but all the other random stuff I occasionally find. I am going to miss that for sure.

The ones here in Austin are all located in very expensive area's (central locations). The ones more in the suburbs look like they will remain open. With the incredible property rates in Austin, the list of the closings did not surprise me. Now that you mention it, my two stores and the out of state one are in pricier neighborhoods. The one staying open is in a older, busier shopping center all the way across town. Way too far, I don't go over there. The store is kind of messy.

We’ll just found out the 2 in my city are closing. I bought several Christmas gifts there. The craft aisle had already disappeared.

The one closest to me closed years ago. The next closest is up in the mountains and it is closing along with many (maybe all?) locations in NC. I don't go up there in winter because of weather so I guess I'll miss it. I've always liked the things I bought there whether it was scrapbooking or other items.

Three of my four made it through the first round of cuts, but they are now both closing. I just went to two of them this week. That’s probably the last time I’ll go since they won’t be getting anything new. I spent about $100 on scrappy stuff.

The one in Alliance is closing. It rarely has that many people in it anymore, so I guess I’m not surprised. However, the TM in Denton, Texas is not on the list. Last time I was up that way, I’m pretty sure that it was still open. It does get more traffic, however, so perhaps it is going to survive a bit longer. I guess I need to pay them a visit to find out.
Does anyone still have a TM still open near them?

Does anyone still have a TM still open near them? All the Oregon and Washington ones are closing (4 and 6 stores) and one of the two in Idaho. Road trip... although I'm not sure the 12 hours round trip would be worth it.

They said they weren’t closing, but the signs in the windows said 10% off the entire store. I guess the lady I asked just didn’t know yet. I can’t remember if the Keller location is closing, but I wouldn’t be surprised.

Although I've not been to a TM location in over 1.5 years, I'm hopeful the remaining 200 stores after bankruptcy restructuring will survive for the sake of their regular customers/employees. My thoughts are with all the employees who are now/soon without jobs. Mine is staying open. I have to say though -- whoever put that list together is driving me insane. The states are in alphabetical order, but not the cities. Drives me crazy! Agree. If the company chooses not to also list cities alphabetically for whatever reason, at least group all the closing stores in each city together. This random list is illogical...& seems to reflect the disheveled state of the company! The one closest to me closed years ago. The next closest is up in the mountains and it is closing along with many (maybe all?) locations in NC. I don't go up there in winter because of weather so I guess I'll miss it. I've always liked the things I bought there whether it was scrapbooking or other items. You must be referring to Boone, since the Asheville & Hendersonville locations are not on the list of store closings. Per the company website, TM has 26 stores in NC with 2 recently shuttered & 17 more scheduled to close, leaving only 7 stores statewide after the closures.

I don't have one here (western SD) but when I visit family in Eastern SD I always stopped at Tuesday Morning. If I scored some scrapbooking supplies great (really don't need more) but my favorite was scouring the home decor. So many unique things to consider. I will miss that store visit for sure.

It may be further than you go, but I noticed the one in Fargo isn't closing. I went there a few months ago and it was a small store but really packed and well organized. They had a better (although small) craft selection than mine has in the last couple of years. Plus they seemed to have a better selection of "upscale" items in general, if that makes sense. I was happy to score some Graphic 45 and Photoplay stamp/die sets (the gnome ones) and they attached any stamp sets that had coordinating dies together, so you got both for one price.

So I went to Tuesday Morning today to look over some of the home decor and other stuff I have been putting off buying and it was busy! More people than I have ever encountered in one visit. I could hear the cashier answering questions from customers. They will not be open after March 31st and may close sooner if they don't have much stuff left.
She also said she did not know if the discount would get any better because they were doing so good with just the 10%. I guess when they get down to the stuff nobody wants they are going to have to give a bigger discount.

We lost my closest store last month. I got an email about one of the last 2 closing the other day...but both locations are on their website. No more TM in Nevada at all after this. I wnt to be sad, but I think I am just numb. Just had a local scrappy store close 2 weeks ago. Prices have been feeling like what we usually see in other countries as things get more expensive. I'm going to be hoarding my stash quite a bit more now because I will never be able to replace what I purge with the way things are going in the industry. TM will probably be gone completely within a year.

TM has been my go-to for crafty hunting treasure trips until ~2020 when they stopped getting anything new in. They were my place to find a great assortment of toys for birthday/Christmas for my kiddo when we were on one income.
They were also my place to get staging items for houses. Sad I will have to travel outside my community for this, I like spending my $ in my town to promote those jobs and keep my sales tax where I will benefit from it.
The manager at my store was also so kind, I should stop in to say goodbye and see if she needs any connections for a new job.

The staff at mine said all of the west coast stores are closing. Closest will be Lake Havasu. Sounds like they are going the route of keeping stores closer to their distribution center in order to spend less on shipping and distribution.

The one remaining one near me is finally closing, after having survived the previous rounds of closures. I'll miss it greatly! I went in today for the first time since Christmas, and it was busy - lots more customers than usual, but I still found plenty of good merchandise left. I didn't let myself even look at the kitchenware aisle since I KNOW I'd be tempted by stuff I really don't need (but want anyway LOL). But I did buy a fair amount of scrappy stuff, planners (undated, my fave) and bullet journals and other misc. things I would have just bought elsewhere anyway.
I am lucky that this particular location usually does have a lot of scrappy things. I think they have benefited from merchandise that came from other now-closed stores in the area. It's pretty close so I'll maybe go once more before they close on March 31 (or before if everything sells out faster).

He manages At Home on Academy. The manager from the TM on Powers also works there. They both said they knew it was going to happen. He left last year, I think. He said that businesses buy out stores that are closing and then close them slowly (with discounts happening slowly) so they can make the most profit. I stopped at the Academy one since I was on my way to Simple Pleasures. I bought an 8 x 11.5 case that I was going to try to find at Michaels (for $4.99)and two Simple Stories ephemera and that was it. I don't need to go back. It was already looking sparse on some shelves at only 10% off.

Their HQ is in Texas with their distribution center being in Dallas, I believe. So...it makes sense since they spend a lot less on distribution there, meaning the profit margins are higher.
