And I'm so excited. Now that all of the scrapbook stores around me (there used to be 8!) have closed this is my only chance to crop with others. It is so fun.
I've been going this weekend for over 10 years. Four days in a cabin in a state park. I need to finish packing but of course I'm drinking a cup of coffee and peaing.
Does anyone else still go to crops and/or retreats? Tell me about them.

I went to the same one with 11 other women for 15 years. It was in a cute house in Wisconsin, only an hour away from the Twin Cities. Sadly, the owners sold the house during the pandemic, so that's the end of that.
I really missed it last fall.
Have a wonderful time!

I've never gone - when they were more common, our finances and home life didn't allow it

Jealous! I have never been to a retreat, but want to go.
There is actually one in Crystal River, FL I am looking into. Scrapbooking and river cruises to see manatees? Sounds good to me!
I hope you have a wonderful time!

I've never been to a retreat, but there is one two hours from me, at the beach where you sleep in bunks. I didn't go because I found out the date at the last minute, and it was on DH birthday weekend (plus January weather...) maybe some day...
Have fun, take pictures!

I’ve been to crops, but never to an actual retreat. I hope you have a fabulous time and get a lot done!

We still have a LSS and they host two weekend crops a year. grammadee and I go with three friends. Since it’s in my city I used to have three houseguests, but then they realized how nice it was to stay in the hotel where the crop is and not have to drive to my place late at night. We have a lot of fun.

I used to go twice a year but between one of the organizing groups folding, many of my group of scrapbooking friends leaving the hobby and then Covid, it’s been quite a while.
Have fun!

But that would be fun!

I went to one a few weeks ago - it is fun to get together with friends and talk and giggle while crafting. I hadn't been to a crop for 3 years and although its a chore to pack up and go, it was great to be able to sit around in pajamas and focus only on scrapping for 3 full days. The time to focus really gets my creativity flowing.

Have a great weekend, artbabe! I love the energy and inspiration of a crop, visiting, seeing what other people are doing, sharing ideas and sometimes supplies, learning new techniques. Packing and unpacking for a crop is the only problem for me. I never know what to take, so end up lugging way too much with me. If I start putting together kits, I think why not just finish this page now? Then it takes awhile after the crop to get everything back into its proper place in my scraproom. But that hastle is totally worth it. We still have a LSS and they host two weekend crops a year. grammadee and I go with three friends. Since it’s in my city I used to have three houseguests, but then they realized how nice it was to stay in the hotel where the crop is and not have to drive to my place late at night. We have a lot of fun. You should just bunk in and stay with us!

The last time I went to one was in 2019 and it was so much fun! There's a lady who used to own a scrapbook store who started doing weekend retreats in my area and then branched out and did one in Vegas and a couple at a resort in Arizona and Palm Springs. She's unfortunately retiring at the end of the year and all her retreat weekends are sold out now so I won't get to go to one anymore. My local-ish LSS has lots of crop weekends but they haven't worked with my schedule so far. I'm hoping to get to one this year.

Enjoy!

Have a fantastic time.
A group of friends and I do 3 a year. We rent a lodge and make a long weekend of it. We’ve been going for over 17 years.
Although, I think we might be on our last legs. A few have moved out of state, one member passed away and a couple are having a little spat. To keep our costs somewhat reasonable, we need 10 and that’s become a struggle. I’ll be very sad if we have to stop.

Have fun artbabe! I used to fly to a weekend crop at a BnB; we rented the whole place and cropped in the living room. Sadly, the group members slowly rotated out and I didn't know as many people, so stopped attending. I would love to do it again.

Yes, I go to a 3 day hotel retreat 4 times per year. I’m at it right now. I think it’s the only thing keeping me sane lol. With 2 small kids it’s like a vacation! Hate the packing and unloading but I usually get a lot done, and I get to sleep in! I really miss them during the summer months.
Have fun!

I'm excited to be going to my annual retreat next weekend! My oldest DD and I go to the same one each year in February. It is hosted at a resort in the Black Hills (you can see the profile of Mt Rushmore from the deck) and is a great get away. It is only about a 25 minute drive from our homes but it is nice to get away - just the two of us - for a weekend. She has two small boys at home and no dedicated craft space so this is her only time to scrap. She is a whirlwhind scrapper (and very creative) so she gets a lot done in the 3 days we are there.
I plan to work on a book for my new DIL using their wedding photos.
Have a great time artbabe

It actually popped up on my Instagram feed (my account is only for craft projects, so very targeted ads there). I was not actively searching for it, so maybe someone else has some other resources for locating crops that they can share. 😊

We used to have several different ones I would attend. Not sure if any have resumed. There are a few that have stopped though. My LSS has one once a month. But the hours have really been shortened. It used to be fifteen hours over 2 days, but now is maybe 11 hours for both days and it just seems like a lot of prep and travel for a noon to six on Fridays and a ten to three on Saturdays.

I wanted to go a Braless Retreat with 8 scrapping friends. I was going leave my t-shirts home in solidarity with the theme. Due to circumstances beyond my control I wasn't able to go. I did send them a care package of supplies for them share. They sent me photos of their fun times, so I scrapped them. www.flickr.com/photos/22190803@N07/50149856236/in/dateposted-public/
