On this public board each of us gets to decide how much information we want to share. Some share more than others and that is their choice. Recently I was asked a question about what I do in my personal life to support an opinion I made and didn’t want to answer the question for a lot of reasons. So I ignored it. The question was asked again so this time I gave a half-assed answer. An old thread popped up and I was reading some of the responses and came across this one from lizacreates . I’ve always appreciated her thoughtful answers, may not agree with them all but appreciate them in any case. Like her answer below. from lizacreates “As to actions and results, this is a message board. Everyone here is free to take a person’s word and level of sincerity and engagement at face value OR not. Either way, I, or anyone else for that matter, do not owe anybody on this board a catalogue of the actions I take in my private life so I can prove my support and advocacy bona fides, nor do I owe anyone a report card on the outcomes. If that is not satisfactory to some, that is not something I am inclined to remedy.” And in the vast majority of circumstances I agree with her statement. But I still stand by my question. You constantly chastise people who don't vote. If you didn't bring it up so often then I wouldn't have given it a second thought. There are a variety of reasons that people don't vote, and some of them are out of their control. I saw an interesting piece showing how in some areas of Alabama they closed many of the local voting registration places so that some people had to travel 2 or 3 counties away to register. There is no public transportation that travels that far and a lot of these people didn't have vehicles.

It never ceases to amaze me how hard the Republicans try and change history they don’t like. McCarthy had no business giving Fox News those videos. None.

In Fox personalities saying one thing and believing another headlines, Tucker Carlson hates Trump. You can't make this stuff up folks. Carlson despises Trump"Fox News' Tucker Carlson, an apparent ally and cheerleader for former president Donald Trump, actually couldn't wait for him to leave office, according to a text message that was released as part of a $1.6 billion defamation lawsuit. “I hate him passionately,” Carlson wrote, adding that he “can’t handle much more of this,” according to the recently released court filings. In the message, he said he “truly can’t wait” to be able to stop covering Trump -- and added that he has grown to despise him. The juicy revelation was just one of many buzzy details that were released in the trove of documents that are part of Dominion Voting Systems' lawsuit filed against Fox News. The documents shed new light on how the top talent and leaders at Fox may have really felt about Trump. Their true feelings, as revealed in the texts, often contradicted what was said on air."

There is no public transportation that travels that far and a lot of these people didn't have vehicles.Exactly. It's important to increase access to voting. Native Americans on massive reservations, lower income people without transportation are just a few examples of voters with obstacles that get in the way of voting. Some people can't afford to take an entire day off to vote. Voting lines in Georgia are as long as 10-12 hours. Disenfranchisement is a significant problem in red states. Let's fix access to voting, make voter registration easier and expand mail in voting instead of complaining about low voter turnout. And find a way to combat voter intimidation like DeSantis's "election crimes unit" Furthermore, people turned out in record numbers in 2022 and 2024. Maybe celebrate that and figure out how Democrats can keep the momentum going forward.

An even better response…. There's a nauseating thought. Wonder if, in the throes of passion, they scream, "Oh, my Trump!" Ok I think I just threw up in my mouth a little. She has something on him though.

And who was in charge in 2018? Privacy advocates have long warned that the Supreme Court ruling in the 2018 case Carpenter v. United States, in which the court decided government agencies that accessed location data without a warrant were violating the Fourth Amendment, contains a loophole allowing the government to purchase data that it can't obtain legally. "The public," Vitka told Wired, "needs to know who gave the go-ahead for this purchase, why, and what other agencies have done or are trying to do the same." www.rawstory.com/shocking-fbi-director-admits-agency-purchased-geolocation-data-of-americans/

Another TFG lawyer censured. Jenna Ellis in Colorado this time . A Colorado judge has censured an attorney who represented former President Donald Trump for false claims over the 2020 elections. Jenna Ellis was Trump’s senior legal advisor in 2020, when the former president tried to overturn the results of the presidential election. Ellis as part of an agreement admitted to making “misrepresentations,” Colorado Newsline reports. Presiding Disciplinary Judge Bryon M. Large said that Ellis “though her conduct, undermined the American public’s confidence in the presidential election, violating her duty of candor to the public,” the report said. *** “The public censure in this matter reinforces that even if engaged in political speech, there is a line attorneys cannot cross, particularly when they are speaking in a representative capacity,” the agency said in a statement. Ellis’ claims of election fraud during an appearance on Fox Business’ Maria Bartiromo was among the factual misrepresentations cited, according to the report. *** Her censure goes into effect immediately, the report said. www.rawstory.com/jenna-ellis-2659560660/

When the Democrats at these hearings make a point, they’re actually making a point based on facts unlike Republicans who just make things up.

Epstein will haunt people who have any connection to him for years.. Uh oh!!! A federal judge on Thursday ordered investment banking giant JP Morgan to turn over documents related to CEO Jamie Dimon and late child sexual predator Jeffrey Epstein. As reported by Law & Crime's Adam Klasfeld, the judge ordered the bank to turn over the documents at the request of the government of the United States Virgin Islands, which is investigating Epstein's past as a client with JP Morgan. Klasfeld notes that the judge did not outline any specifics behind its ruling, and that JP Morgan has insisted that Dimon had nothing to do with managing Epstein's account at the firm. JP Morgan recently sued former senior banker Jes Staley while alleging that he covered up "personal activities" he engaged in with Epstein that the bank says opened them up to potential legal liability. www.rawstory.com/jp-morgan-ordered-to-turn-over-jeffrey-epstein-docs-related-to-ceo-jamie-dimon/

Boy is she living in an alternate universe. People, especially on the right, deliberately ignore the fact that within months of President Obama becoming president the unemployment rate was a little over 10%. The stock market had tanked. By the time he left office the unemployment rate was 4.7% and the stock market had been rising for several years. In other words trump inherited a growing economy.
All trump’s tax cuts did was raise the debt by what is it 25%.

He is now talking about the parents who made threats against/to school board officials and teachers and how the Republicans on the committee are there to defend that.
Funny, I suspect if those same parents were making threats against any of those Republicans they would be demanding 24 hour protection.
Threats against another person because one doesn’t agree with them is not the kind of “free” speech this country shoukd be defending. IMO.

Talk about being classless.. Wonder how she would do after polio? Former Trump election lawyer Jenna Ellis mocked Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) for falling and getting hospitalized on Wednesday night. In a tweet posted to her account, Ellis posted a video depicting a turtle falling down a flight of stairs that she sarcastically claimed was "camera footage from last night’s McConnell dinner." The tweet drew a rebuke from several of Ellis' Twitter followers, including from CNN host Jake Tapper, who commented that "the basic lack of humanity constantly displayed by these people is truly remarkable." "So much Christian spirit," commented conservative pundit Jonah Goldberg. "By the way shouldn’t you be clearing road kill in a jumpsuit or something?" Ellis' tweet mocking McConnell for getting hospitalized came just hours after she admitted to spouting multiple falsehoods about the 2020 presidential election, which earned her a censure for misconduct by a judge in her home state of Colorado. www.rawstory.com/mitch-mcconnell-jenna-ellis/

Some heads should roll after this. What is going on at the DOJ?!?! Key Proud Boys trial skids to halt after accidental leak of classified info to defenseMary Papenfuss March 09, 2023 A major federal government case against the militant Proud Boys in the Jan. 6 uprising temporarily ground to a halt Thursday after the Justice Department accidentally leaked likely classified information to the defense. The case is widely regarded as the most important to date regarding the 2021 Capitol riot. The apparent leak of suspected classified information was tied to the testimony this week of FBI Special Agent Nicole Miller, a lead investigator in the case, Politico reported Thursday. Prosecutors shared with the defense internal FBI messages sent and received by Miller at work that supported her testimony. The messages were supposed to be scrubbed of any classified information, but it apparently was still accessible in hidden sections of the Excel spreadsheet supplied to the defense, according to Politico.Prosecutors learned of the major snafu when the defense reportedly began grilling Miller — in front of jurors — on what appeared to be classified information. U.S. District Court Judge Tim Kelly paused the trial Thursday and ordered defense attorneys to refrain from reviewing or disseminating the messages until the FBI was able to conduct a review of the information. It was not immediately clear when the trial will resume or what kind of impact the information could have on the case. Kelly was reportedly hopeful the review could be completed by the end of the day. The trial is already in its third month. www.rawstory.com/proud-boys-trial-2659566418/
