Actually what I read in a book about the 2nd Amendment was George Washington was at the Constitutional Convention as he was the leader but was just there for show. From what I read he had very little input.
The Convention was from 1787-88 and George Washington was elected President the end of 1788 and the beginning of 1789. In other words the convention had ended about a year before Washington was elected president.
She’s just confused like most of those on the right are these days.
Just like I remember it.
From the First Amendment Encyclopedia…
“Washington presided over the Constitutional Convention”
“Washington’s return to his home, Mount Vernon, was interrupted by yet another call from his country to attend the Constitutional Convention that met in Philadelphia in 1787. James Madison was especially influential in persuading Washington to attend. The attendees at the convention unanimously chose Washington as their president, and though he did not speak very often, his presence lent an air of gravity to the proceedings and his willingness to sign the Constitution was a major asset to Federalists who argued for the document’s ratification. He believed that the Constitution that emerged from the convention was the best possible for the time and praised the document for being amendable.”

Told you the right thinks being poor is a life choice. Or look it another way, Republicans in Congress have never seen a tax cut for large corporations and the rich that they didn’t salivate for.
But they have no problem if people can’t get needed medical care or go hungry.
From the article…
”The president of a new pro-Trump think tank called the Center for Renewing America, Vought, 46, has emerged as one of the central voices shaping the looming showdown over federal spending and the national debt. As Republicans struggle to craft a strategy for confronting the Biden administration over the debt ceiling, which limits how much the government can borrow to pay for spending Congress has already approved, Vought has supplied them with a seemingly inexhaustible stream of advice: suggestions for negotiating with the White House, briefings about dealing with the media, a 104-page memo that proposes specific spending levels for every federal agency.”
Several Republican lawmakers and staffers privately acknowledged talking to Vought at least once a week. Earlier this month, he briefed about four dozen GOP senators over lunch in the Capitol, according to Sen. Rick Scott (R-Fla.), who said it was at least the third time he had heard Vought’s pitch for dealing with the debt limit.
Vought helped push for a new House panel led by Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) to investigate the alleged “weaponization of the federal government” under President Biden. Stephen K. Bannon, the former Trump political adviser, called Vought the “intellectual architect” of House conservatives’ rebellion against McCarthy. Vought is also close with Rep. Chip Roy (R-Tex.), who spearheaded that fight.
“Russ is the guy conservatives go to for intimate knowledge of how the federal budget works,” said Newt Gingrich, who served as House speaker in the 1990s and remains a close adviser to McCarthy. “He understands an enormous amount of federal budgeting, and that makes him a very big player.”

Gross,.... gross.. GROSS... Alex Jones new ick... And they believe him ... Conspiracy theorist Alex Jones told his audience that liberal elites are likely "eating babies" after taking philosopher Sam Harris' words out of context. On his Sunday afternoon broadcast, Jones called attention to an interview between The Young Turk's host Cenk Uygur and the philosopher. I thought surely it's out of context," Jones said before taking the clip out of context. "I have the transcript here where he says why don't we just start eating babies? We've got all these extra baby parts; millions we kill every year. Why don't we just eat them?" "So, that's the next evolution, and you will eat the bugs as you will eat the dead babies," he continued. www.rawstory.com/alex-jones-eating-babies/

He has a point. Could one ever imagine dumpster don standing in the open in a situation like this? Remember he scurried to the bunkers in the White House because of a protest across the street from The White House.

He’s right. I would add these two words that we need the right to define when used to describe someone on the left. Socialist and elitist. And make them be specific with examples. Unfortunately the right has found ways to insulate themselves from actually having to answer specifically what they mean.

The right has never said specifically what needs to be done to “secure” the border. And DeSantis is being quiet about the migrants coming ashore in Florida. He’s not demanding President Biden come down to Florida to see.
They are a bunch of phonies.

In his mind he did nothing wrong invading Ukraine and he feels it’s wrong for the West to try and stop him. And oh by the way it’s the West’s fault that he invaded Ukraine in the first place.

Same old excuses from businesses while ignoring who benefits from these potentially new rules. Nothing has changed. From Fox…. link” Manufacturers to EPA: We’re leading air quality gains, we don’t need more rules”“The EPA says the rule will improve air quality, while manufacturers argue current rules are sufficient” Manufacturers are pushing back on a new air quality regulation advanced by the Environmental Protection Agency, arguing that companies in the sector are leading efforts to improve air quality and the agency putting forward new rules will hamper those efforts and slow economic growth. National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) President and CEO Jay Timmons delivered an address on the state of manufacturing on Tuesday, and said that "we’re going to tell the EPA that manufacturers are already leading to clean our air." "The government shouldn’t enact rules that, however well-intentioned, would make it more difficult to achieve our environmental goals, slow our economic growth and push us closer toward recession," Timmons said. "In fact, the NAM is launching a nationwide campaign to tell regulators to protect manufacturers and not change these standards before fully implementing some already on the books." In January, the EPA announced a proposal to revise the national ambient air quality standard (NAAQS) for fine particle pollution known as PM2.5, which refers to particulate matter two and a half micrometers or less in diameter. The proposal would reduce the PM2.5 standard from 12 micrograms per cubic meter to a level between 9 and 10 micrograms per cubic meter. The EPA wrote that fine particulate matter, such as soot, can "penetrate deep into the lungs and can result in serious health effects that include asthma attacks, heart attacks and premature death" and disproportionately affect vulnerable groups, like children and older adults with heart or lung conditions, "as well as communities of color and low-income communities" throughout the country. Particulate matter can be emitted from a source, like construction sites, fires, or smokestacks. It can also form in the atmosphere through reactions involving chemicals like sulfur dioxide and nitrogen oxides, which are emitted from power plants, industrial facilities, and vehicles. "Our work to deliver clean, breathable air for everyone is a top priority at EPA, and this proposal will help ensure that all communities, especially the most vulnerable among us, are protected from exposure to harmful pollution," EPA Administrator Michael Regan said in a statement announcing the new NAAQS proposal. "This proposal to deliver stronger health protections against particulate matter is grounded in the best available science, advancing the Biden-Harris Administration’s commitment to scientific integrity and a rigorous scientific process." The NAM has pushed back on the regulatory proposal, arguing that levels of air pollution have declined dramatically in recent decades due to existing regulations and a "culture of innovation" that encourages environmental stewardship. The trade group cited EPA data showing that six common pollutants covered by NAAQS, including PM2.5, have dropped by 78% from 1970 to 2020; and that PM2.5 levels have fallen 44% since 2000. It also warned that the EPA’s proposal will create an additional regulatory burden that jeopardizes new clean energy projects through difficult permitting, undercuts efforts to bring manufacturing back to the U.S., and damages the economy at a vulnerable time for Americans. The EPA will hold public hearings on the standards through a virtual platform on February 21, February 22, and February 23, 2023. The hearings will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Eastern each of those three days. After reviewing comments, the EPA plans to issue its final standards later this year.“
