I got the Epson PM-400 about 18 months ago. Originally it worked fine. I took a few month break from scrapbooking while taking classes. When I tried to use it again it wasn't printing correctly. We ended up replacing the ink, even though it had only printed about 20-25 pictures and it worked fine. I used it a bit, probably printing 20-ish pictures. Took another break due to classes. Tried to use it tonight and it's not printing correctly. We tried several different things to trouble shoot it and even changed the ink again. No dice. When I print a picture the hair on the people comes out streaky and the black looks bleached.
Anyone have any suggestions or have the same issue? All the reviews on this printer were good, but I'm not having much luck. I'd like to scrapbook tomorrow, but now my printer isn't working.

We ran the nozzle cleaner but it didn't solve the problem. It seems to be with the black and brown in.

It could be clogged nozzles. Mine sits for months between print jobs and I’ve not had that issue. I have on my big printer though. But, I had a firmware update for the PM 400 this weekend. Could that be the issue? Maybe there’s an update needed.

How are you storing it? I make sure that mine is stored flat (standing). I had a big problem with a regular Epson printer years ago. The nozzles would clog constantly, and I wasted more ink cleaning them than it was worth. I even brought it to a certified Epson service center, and they cleared the clogs - and used up all my ink without replacing it. Then it clogged again, and I got rid of it. I was very hesitant about buying another Epson printer, but so far, so good.

Their customer service has been really good when I’ve called them in the past.
