I scored today, bought $205 worth of things for $48. What I got; 6 Wink of Stella in different colors 5 different colors of Deco Foil 2 Embossing powders 4 Jars of wax seal buds plus a small seal stamp 4 stamp sets and 9 Versafine Clair ink pads for $1.99 each. Wish they had had more colors. I missed the Copic marker clearance last week, they were only $1.99 each , that was heartbreaking. Now I watching for the Tim Holtz alcohol inks to go on clearance.

Yes my HL got rid of the entire die cutting section.
UGH. The copic sale has been ongoing since the end of January per reddit. I pretty much had every color they had but still $1.99!

Mine got rid of the dies too. I managed to get quite a few Spellbinder dies that I didn’t have before they sold out. I didn’t realize the Copic sale had been going on that long, my fault for not checking the art section every time I went in there. Lesson learned.

If you paint - paint as low as .25 a bottle, beads on sale that can used as embellishments, check the adhesives section - got some diamond glaze for 1.25 a bottle.

I had no idea. Scrapbooking is far from popular where I live. The Michael's right by HL closed. Maybe I could get lucky? Then I think, is it worth the drive? Yeah, I have to want stuff bad.

Thanks so much for starting this thread. It prompted me to go by HL today. I scored a Silhouette Portrait 3 for $44.79 instead of the retail price of $199. I was astonished! I’ve been thinking about getting one to take to crops/retreats instead of hauling my Cameo 4. HL has the red Cameo 4 marked down to $179. I paid much more than that last Black Friday.

I had no idea they were downsizing their scrapbook/papercraft department so much. Does anyone know if they’re planning to replace it with their store brand or just do away with those type of products altogether?

I had no idea they were downsizing their scrapbook/papercraft department so much. Does anyone know if they’re planning to replace it with their store brand or just do away with those type of products altogether? My nearest store has a new scrapbooking manager. The ones before were total AH's who treated the bargain hunters like dirt and flat out lied to us when we asked anything about clearance. This new lady is younger (probably early 20's) and very nice. She actually saved the versafine inks and marked them for me when I was in the store next (she wasn't working on markdowns the first time I ran into her). Anyway, she said that that store is losing 2 aisles for papercrafting. It's not a replace it with their brand thing because most of the department save for a few WRMK tools and Tim Holtz is already their stuff anyway (they have identical copies of thickers in their own packaging...I noticed because navy is still rare and they have one of my favorite navy sets in both navy and white). It's going to become a case of them only having their stuff soon enough.
Not a direct reply to you, but a comment in general to avoid making two posts, but I mostly diamond paint these days so when I went shopping on Monday, I was mostly looking for those. One store across town was actively marking down all over the store. They had marked everything with a D on the label and were going back to sticker it all up. I was able to get a lady to mark all of the diamond paintings (she was an aisle over, but the same department) so I was able to grab a bunch of paintings for 75% off. I picked up a few scrapbooking items (mostly inks) there, too, and filled some gaps at other stores where there were markdowns done already and the inventory remaining was slightly different. I'm bummed that none of the photopolymer clear stamps seemed to have been marked down this time...it used to be that stamps and dies were all I'd buy. My nearest store has been out of dies for months, but the other stores still have them marked at 40% off stuck wherever they have an empty spot in the department.

scrapaddict702 thanks for the info! I popped in to my local HL yesterday to see what was going on and there was quite a bit of clearance, but no awesome bargains like you and others found. Ours was mostly Happy Planners, a few Tim Holtz odds and ends, and a lot of wooden stamps. The die cutting aisle looked pretty bare.

They went to 40% off a few months back (which worried me bc I thought all clearance was going back to 40% off, 40% from that if stuff was left...but seems to be just a dies thing) so stock remaining depends on the location and customer interest. My nearest store has beem done with them a while but further away locations still have some left, but still only 40% off.

My HL worker told me we were losing die cutting stuff because people only buy it when it first comes out, and they the product just sits there until the next release. I do wonder why Tim Holtz stuff isn't ever on sale anymore.

They moved the entire scrapbooking section to the far left corner in the back of my HL. Its barely taking up one aisle. Cindy

Mine had some wooden rubber stamps, some dies, planner stuff, and some paper studio paper pads on clearance, but there wasn't much to choose from.

I went back to another store (waiting for them to mark down their dies to what other stores have decreased to) and if you need an OTT Lite those are on clearance too! Found some super fine point neon, glitter, metallic ink gel pens for $2.49 for a pack of 12.

I'm happy that everyone is getting these great deals but it really scares me that the future of the scrapbooking section in Hobby Lobby is doomed. Sounds as if they are following the lead of Michaels and reducing their offerings - including Paper Studio from what I am hearing on different FB pages. At least in my area HL is the only good place for a nice selection of paper, albums and embellishments. If that goes away it will truly suck!

essiejean - I'm concerned about that also - M's closed here 3 years ago and the two LSS closed before we had a HL even and we've never had Joanns. It's a good hour to the closest M or J I did manage to pick up some albums tonight for $4 and $5 (8.5x11 3-ring) - they'll get used for sure.
